Not3,I don't think that calling him Yeshua, Yahshua, or even Jesus matters. I simply do it because it is a symbolism of how I am seeing him for the way he was always meant to be. And I even went from Yeshua to Yahshua! But in the end, I think he hears any of those names because he is able to read your heart and intentions, not the various names he…[Read more]

Ken,So, in your opinion, do you think that is what James was speaking of when he mentioned “works”? That is, to be certain that the 10 Commandments were observed? I wonder why he was not more specific. Oh, and I'm fairly certain that “works” could also include carrying out what Yahshua taught as well.I think then that James' teaching goes hand in…[Read more]

I just turned 40. I didn't celebrate
. Just another day IMO. I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Is there any scriptural grounds for not celebrating a birthday?kejonn replied to the topic Paul and James in the forum Scriptural Teachings 18 years, 7 months ago
Ken,I think that one has to recognize that Paul was writing to Gentiles who had very little understanding of the Law. So I wonder if he was speaking of the Law of Moses (sacrificial and ceremonial) or if he was trying to include all of the Law? That is why it is so great that we have all of the NT so we can bring it all together and balance.

Hi all,Perhaps not so much a “debate” then, but more of a clarification for those who may have been taking Paul's writings to an extreme. But then again, what does James mean by “works”?

michaels,Just curious, but what book of the Bible do you accept as truth? And Melchizedeck is not claiming this, the writer of Hebrews is making notations according to what had been written.

jhen,Yahshua can also be seen as the first and last man to ever have to die for our sins as well.

People should also remember that there were cultural differences back then. Many condemn the Bible, and Yahshua himself, because he did not teach against slavery. There seemed to be some time of “slaves” in the 1st century time, but it does not appear that they were slaves like we had in colonial times in the US. From the best I can tell, these…[Read more]

Hi all,Pretty amazing, but I had just started reading a book called Peter, Paul, and Mary Magdalene by Bart D. Ehrman. I had decided to start with the section on Paul first and lo and behold, what verses should come up besides 1 Cor 14:34-36.
1Co 14:34 The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to…

Just so you all know, kyrios is the word used to replace YHWH in the Septuagint. But this was not always the case, as the Tetragrammaton (YHWH) had been used up to a point. From http://www.equipministry.com/studies/yhwhinnt.htm
The logic presented for the absence of the “full form” of the Divine Name in the NT had been that the inspired writers of…

Gene, That was never my real intention. I can only reveal what I have been shown. My intention in debating the Trinity is too show that the lack of belief in the dogma is indeed scripturally and spiritually valid. And to show that those who disbelieve in it are not cultists and heretics, but true seekers. That is why my posts do not use the words…[Read more]

Not3in1,I think the reason Billy Graham focused on the cross was that he is an evangelist. His calling in life is not to teach, but reach. The focal point of our salvation does depend on the death, burial, and resurrection.Sadly, most churches I have attended seem to have the same focus. The pastors are too lazy to get into new material so they…[Read more]

Steve,Why? Because those who were disciples of John, who was supposed to have written The Gospel of John, thoroughly believed that the Word was Yahshua. Here are some quotes from Ignatius:
