Hey folks,I saw someone bring out a VERY important passage related to the sabbath, and it is quite peculiar that the other 9 commandments did not have an explanation of why they are observed attached to them. Here it is:Deu 5:15 'You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a…[Read more]

Its is amazing that we can make 29 pages about the Sabbath. One would think that is it is “cut and dry”. But is it? Has anyone addressed why the Sabbath was part of the 10 Commandments? Let's look at a few passages preceding the first onstance of the 10 Commandments:
Exd 19:5 'Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then…

Hey Ken,Did the Catholic church ever come out and say that the Sabbath was now Sunday? Or do they call it the “Lord's Day” (which really has no scriptural foundation)? I know little about the Catholic church I must admit. On another note, I found out that a local church has Sabbath services. I am going to find out more about them and the rest of…[Read more]

There is no “sound” evidence of the date of authorship of any of the books of the NT. However, the date of 90-100 is generally accepted by most scholars. As far as the writer being alive still, reread the verse that pertains to this thought:Joh 21:23 Therefore this saying went out among the brethren that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did…[Read more]

Hey WJ,I do not believe “you are gods” in these verses have anything to do with the ability of men to be divine. But your description above does not address the fact that Yahshua chose to quote the passage from Psalm when the Jews were accusing of Yahshua of making himself out to be God. How did he respond? By saying that men in the past were…[Read more]

Well, to be truthful, the existance of Christ prior to his birth is something I'm still trying to understand. The biggest issue we have is that the OT does not support anyone residing in the heavens besides angels and God. But I don't believe that John 1 is a good passage to support “pre-existence” because “logos” should not be interpreted…[Read more]

I'm curious if a Trinitarian can answer why Yahshua might have used the Psalm passage when speaking of himself. Why would he choose to quote this passage if he was not comparing himself to them? I've yet to see a Trinitarian address this.
Jhn 10:33 The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You,…

The more and more I read John 1, the less I see a pre-existant being. Are we truly to take the OT passages that speak of the “word of YHWH” and see some being flitting around, carrying out God's actions? John 1 is a simple summarization of the creation narrative: God spoke and things came to be. God spoke and a Savior was born; it was God's plan…[Read more]

CB,We can explain Thomas fine, but you can not explain the statement made by the very Son of God himself earlier in that very same chapter:Jhn 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.' “As a…[Read more]

Yahshua was worshiped and is to be worshiped, but not as God, but the Son of God. And his worship was not an automatic right, it was given
Hbr 1:6 And then, when he presented his honored Son to the world, God said, “Let all the angels of God worship him.”
If Yahshua was and is God, why would the Father have to make the statement “Let all of the…[Read more]
