Is it written that I should not marry my sister? Is it written that I should not snort cocaine? Nick, if we rely on only what is written then we won't have answers for all of our life situations. In any case, show me how the Satan of Job matches your view of Satan. Also, show me where God gave Satan permission to be the god of this world. It is…[Read more]

But can you say without a doubt that these Berean believers came to the same conclusions about things that you do?

Also, add to this the Satan of Job. Is that being allowed to free roam the planet, doing as he pleases? No way. He had to get permission from God each time. How does this compare with the Satan most Christians believe in?
kejonn replied to the topic Moses in the forum Scriptural Teachings 18 years, 2 months ago
Nick,Satan as the serpent is one of the biggest common Christian misconceptions. There are many Christian denominations who do not hold to this thought process and I'm sure you are aware that Jews do not either. There is nothing in the text that would lead to the serpent = satan.

So night time is evil to you Nick? You are forcing your beliefs into the passage rather than taking it at face value. Up until that captivity, there really wasn't any idea of dualism in the Hebrew scriptures. Nor was there really the idea of an after-life. Both of these came from the influencing religions of their captors. And where is the demon…[Read more]

Mandy,Its not just the church that “programs” us that way. Its ingrained in all Abrahamic faiths. Here is a prime example:Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. If you ask me, that is much easier said then done. If our own understanding does not come into play, what then?

Hey SOL,Could you just provide the link and not the whole article from now on? Or at least the link and some relevant parts that might catch the attention of the reader? This forum uses a wide main column which makes for hard reading.

Nick,But how can you have unity with so many divergent beliefs? Lets' just take the trinity as an example. In an effort to become unified, should believers who have different views about the nature of God simply ignore matters such as this so that they can become unified? Or do you suggest compromise? With almost 1000 pages on the trinity, how can…[Read more]

Even Paul admitted that faith-based truth was subjective:Rom 14:5 One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.

Did Yeshua say he was the way, truth and life, but also say one had to accept him as Lord and Savior? That is what we have been taught, but is there any reality in scripture behind this?

Ken, what if you had been brought up in a Muslim society? What do you think you'd be saying about Christians, Jews, etc. right now if you had? When were you first exposed to Yeshua? Were you ever exposed to other religions prior to Christianity?
