Quote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 21 2008,18:57)Hi KJ, Make up your mind. Either Paul was a messenger of God's or a liar.I think God makes it pretty plain he was serving Him and not Satan. But to the rebellious Jews Christ and Paul are stumbling stones.ORPaul was doing the best he could with what he was lead to teach. He just happened to pull in some stuff…[Read more]

If someone came to you from another religion, would you listen to them? To the people of Jesus' day, Paul was mixing some elements with paganism in with the message of Judaism. He was not teaching Torah, so why would you expect the Jews to listen to him?

  • Profile picture of kejonn

Nick,Not so. Paul was teaching things totally foreign to them. It had nothing to do with hating God but not liking it when someone taught that the Torah was unnecessary. Observant Jews love the Torah and see it as a way to honor God.You seem to be of the mindset that everybody who is outside of Christianity hates God because they don't serve Him…[Read more]

So loving as to use whatever he had from his background to reach Jews and gentiles alike.Of course he upset the jewish religious folk who hate God and God's servants. Why would you be so quick to say the people that the people who were upset by Paul hated God? I saw the other day…[Read more]

So you believe that Jesus' sacrifice was only temporary and will be replaced by animal sacrifices?

I guess you are not looking closely enough to see how James is specifically in opposition to Paul here. Look in the very next chapter where Paul says:Rom 4:1  What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found? Rom 4:2  For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. R…[Read more]

Let's get mores specific Nick: Paul: Rom 3:28  For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.James: Jas 2:24  You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. The word that Paul uses for “apart” here in the NASB is “choris” which meanschōriskho-rece'Adverb from G5561; at a space, that is, separately o…[Read more]

We do not judge Him or His plan.We do know the benefits or obedience to that plan are great. But your response is predicated on the belief that the Holy Bible is the only 100% pure unadulterated words of God. To clarify my last post, I will admit to questioning whether Jesus was truly the Messiah, but by that I did not mean messiah in a general sense, but the coming David of the OT, who was never called messiah. The very few times you see that one mentioned he is either called “son of David”, “David”, or “My servant David”. The Jews did not start…[Read more]
