“For Priscillian the theological disputations in the church had little value, for he knew the gift of God, and had accepted it by a living faith. He would not dispute the Trinity, being content to know that in Christ the true One God is laid hold of by the help of the Divine Spirit.”

It’s sure hard to imagine how belief in the Trinity could somehow be ‘an attack on the foundations of the church,’ (as you say), for it’s the revelation of Jesus Christ Himself, that *IS* the very foundation stone of His Church..!!! – rather it seems you are the one who has been duped into accepting a teaching that has demoted the nature of Christ…[Read more]

you misquote John 1:1 and then say it sounds ‘ludicrous’ !!??
…the Word was With God
…the Word was God
v3…all things were made by Him…Q. Who made the world…God or the Word..??

I believe there is, like you say, mass deception in the world and in the church..and how vital it is to be continually connected to God through His Word and His Spirit..I believe also that the demonic army has made many advances in controlling the thoughts of believers..(mainly through our compromise with the world) – which highlights our urgent…[Read more]

Fist – the Trinity is not, for me, some doctrine that I must defend…(as I think you suppose)- it is simply a truth..but to see this truth one must put aside their own conclusions for a moment and just ‘hear’ the voice of the Scriptures..
I’ve looked at your explanation of 1 Timothy 3:16..and I have to say that when people have beliefs that…[Read more]

Even though the godhead is a mystery, the Trinity itself is easy to understand if you come to the Word with an open heart, because it’s a ‘revelation’!!! we don’t have to sweat it – just let the Word speak for itself !!! in fact I’d say that “God becoming man” is the main basic and glorious revelation of the Christian faith.. and the whole Bible…[Read more]

Sorry bro – but I have to say that this book (which you say is one of your all time favourites) was written by a man who believed that the torment and suffering sinners face after death never ends..
and the reason I agree with him is not because of Christian tradition or that I somehow like the idea (far from it – but rather the thought does…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic Is Hell eternal? in the forum Truth or Tradition 12 years, 10 months ago
It seems that you are ignoring very plain explanations that clearly show forever means forever..(not some limited amount of time) – it would never make sense if the Bible says forever, but really meant something completely different.. you could never trust anything that is written in Scripture..!!
How can you interpret the same word two…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic Is Hell eternal? in the forum Truth or Tradition 12 years, 10 months ago

After reading A Divine Revelation Of Hell and Visions Beyond The Veil I became more interested in these testimonies, as I realised that I had come to the point myself where I was starting to question the reality of hell..you never hear much of the eternal preached today in church.. I found that there are many, many testimonies on line (including…[Read more]

MAN: God hath denied me repentance. His Word gives me no encouragement to believe; yea, himself hath shut me up in this iron cage; nor can all the men in the world let me out. O eternity, eternity! how shall I grapple with the misery that I must meet with in eternity!

You said, “The word forever actually means for an age..”
A look at the word ‘aionion’
by Matt SlickUniversalism is the teaching that God will ultimately bring all people, in all times, and all places to a state of reconciliation with Him. In other words, everyone who ever lived will be saved. Consequently, universalism cannot allow the…[Read more]

This is an excerpt from John Bunyan’s book Visions of Heaven and Hell, an account of the author’s visit to both heaven and hell after contemplating suicide… Here, in hell, he sees many souls whom he is allowed to converse with.
This first hand account of hell touches on the subject at hand – whether hell lasts forever or not..“We had not…[Read more]

this is over 2 hours long and bit old, but Ken Peters had vision of tribulation in 80s – one thing made me think of this again was the military vehicles now used in USA, he saw these same vehicles years ago..DavidL replied to the topic Arguing against God in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 12 years, 10 months ago
“As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you.”

“My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust?”

I think the point in question maybe whether or not we have an ‘eternal’ soul..? reaching a conclusion on this should help us to understand better the nature of hell and the meaning of death..
DavidL replied to the topic in the forum Is Hell eternal? 12 years, 10 months ago
Yes I agree that the second death as described in Scripture is permanent and irreversible.. I think where the confusion arises is maybe over our different concepts of ‘death’ itself..
I believe the second death is a permanent state of ongoing separation from God.. whereas I think what you are saying is that the final separation is NOT an ongoing…[Read more]- Load More
