Thanks Nick.First, I've never liked the word “church.” It's a misleading word and one that Elijah says comes from pagan origins. The words “church” and “churches” occur over 110 times in the King James Version. Other translations also use these terms. The Greek word translated “church” literally means “a calling forth,” or, in other words, a…[Read more]

Ex. 31:16, 17: “The sons of Israel must keep the sabbath, so as to carry out the sabbath during their generations. It is a covenant to time indefinite . Between me and the sons of Israel it is a sign to time indefinite.” (Notice that sabbath observance was a sign between Jehovah and Israel; this would not be the case if everyone else were also obl…[Read more]

Onespirit said:”One's name does not change when one moves from an English speaking country to a Spanish speaking country.”Really? What about Chinese? How is Jesus' name pronounced in Chinese onespirit? German? Cherokee? Arabian? Indonisian? Mongolian? etc?Being that we have millions of people who do use God's name, I can say that yes, it…[Read more]

T8 brought out an interesting point:”Perhaps you are advocating that we just use 'elohim' in Hebrew? If so, then did the original NT that quotes the OT uses of 'elohim', actually use the word 'elohim' or did they translate them to 'theos' or an Aramaic equivalent?”Yes, Elijah is advocating that we use the word Elohim instead of God. So your point…[Read more]

NO. No one ever said the word “elohim” was pagan.T8, he's not saying the word Elohim or El is wrong. These Hebrew words which basically mean “Mighty One” are of course not wrong. Of course they are in the Bible in the portions that were written in Hebrew. Elijah is saying that the English word “god” (not Elohim) is of pagan origins. Along the…[Read more]

I'm not saying I agree with him t8. I was just clarifying to you what he believes. To get the right answers, you have to ask the right questions. Let me ask you something t8.Is the Bible's use of the words LORD and GOD in place of God's name evil?If you're trying to trick me into saying that the Bible is evil….Apparently, the word “bible” comes…[Read more]

Somehow, I doubt he will. But he's stressing the fact that we're using a pagan word to refer to the Almighty, which is surely different than using a pagan word to refer to an ordinary object.yes, Elijah, I know Moses was the first to use the shortened form of Jehovah's name. I'm not sure what your point is.Brandon asked if we can be certain that…[Read more]

As far as I know, no one knows how it was pronounced for sure. It's probably Yahweh. But, we can't know that for sure.
