“fits of anger” are listed in the Bible as a ‘work of the flesh,’ something Christians have to fight to overcome. (Gal. 5:19, 20)“Be wrathful, and yet do not sin.” (Eph. 4:26)ELIJAH, It's true that Jesus showed righteous indignation at times. His character is unquestionable. Yours is not. I suggest if you want to appear to be taken seriously,…[Read more]

Elijah, Is there any way you could sum up the above post in a sentence or two?thanks.dave.
david replied to the topic I want answers!!! in the forum Scriptural Teachings 21 years, 1 month ago
Yes, Elijah, you have clearly proven that in some dictionaries, “gad” is pronounced like the english word “god.”And I have proved that in some dictionaries, “baal” is prounouced exactly like “bail,” and “bale.”We have both proved quite a bit today, haven't we?

Elijah, listen babe, you are right. I probably shouldn't have posted it, especially since I personally disagree with some of what he says, and didn't really read the article over very well. There's not a lot of people out there that actually discuss this baal gad thing other than you. I finally found someone who actually discussed it other than…[Read more]

ONE RELIGION WILL REMAINImagine what it would be like if all people on earth were united in one religion, in one pure worship of the only true God. Eventually, this will be a reality.“Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4) It is evi…[Read more]

The 27 canonical books of the Christian Scriptures were written in the common Greek of the day. However, the book of Matthew was apparently written first in Biblical Hebrew, to serve the Jewish people. The fourth-century Bible translator Jerome states this, saying that it was later translated into Greek. Matthew himself probably made this…[Read more]

This paper is available from the World Wide Web page:http://www.logon.org and http://www.ccg.orgThe Etymology of the Name of GodObjections to the use of the word God, stem from the understanding that the Babylonian deity of fortune was Baal-Gad (pronounced gawd). Brandon wrote in another thread:”wow, that's amazing, eliyah. thanks. i heard it and yes it does. that goes against the pronunciation instruction i saw here http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=gad“In that dictionary the only pronunciation of “gad” is with the soft “a” sound. But even if “gad” was prounced like “god,” what would that prove?…[Read more]

Good point Brandon. In some dictionaries such as the one brandon visited, “gad” is prounced with the soft “a” sound, like “tad,” or “lad,” or “bad.”But even if “gad” were prounced “gawd,” what does that prove? You guise (guys) have and awed (odd) way of reasoning.does baal=bail (bucked handle) or doesbaal=bale (bundle of hay)No. It doesn't.david.

Once again, I have no idea of what you're talking about. Why is that?Yes, the word easter is improperly used in the KJV where “passover” should be. Yes the word easter comes from “astarte” or “ashtoreth” false gods, and yes, ashtoreth worship obviously was condemned in the scriptures, along with baal worship. Your point is what exactly?Yes,…[Read more]

Elijah said: “However, the Hebrew word noun title name of ” gawd=guwd ” = the English word ” god = gad ” was and is applied exclusively to the Babylonian deity called ” Baal Gad “( Isa.65:11 ,The Book of Joshua, Judges, and Kings).”In English please.I thought Gad was a euphemism for god. Yes Elijah, i agree with most everything I skimmed through as I was reading your post above. And while what you said was interesting, I didn't see any answer to Nicks thoughts though.I think I know what your responce would be, but I'd at least like to see you say it.

As I'VE SAID AS IV'E SAID VERY CLEARLY, IF YOU READ IT,I was responding to the baal gad thing.IF YOU READ IT.WHICH I GUESS YOU DIDN'T.And then I said, if you read it, which I guess you didn't….then I said, I was going to look into the etymology of the word “god.”THOSE WERE THE LAST WORDS I SAID.How could you have missed them?David.
