M’Clintock and Strong’s Cyclopædia says: “The observance of Christmas is not of divine appointment, nor is it of N T origin. The day of Christ’s birth cannot be ascertained from the N T, or, indeed, from any other source.”—(New York, 1871), Vol. II, p. 276.Luke 2:8-11 shows that shepherds were in the fields at night at the time of Jesus’ birth…[Read more]

Ya, it's true. There are about 5 reasons, biblical and otherwise, why his birth could not be on Christmas. A couple of them involve weather. When I celebrated Christmas, I don't remember gifts ever being given to Jesus. Maybe I was in the wrong circles. I remember it being highly about self. But then again, I was young.

Suppose a crowd come to a gentleman’s home saying they are there to celebrate his birthday. He does not favor the celebration of birthdays. He does not like to see people overeat or get drunk or engage in loose conduct. But some of them do all those things, and they bring presents for everyone there except him! On top of all that, they pick the b…[Read more]

Whenever Jehovah acts, it is a miracle.Jehovah caused the storm, the Bible says.Jehovah caused the fish to swallow Jonah, the Bible says. Can you bring about a windstorm, or cause a man to be swallowed by a fish Nick? These were acts of God.Since these actions, the Bible tells us were the result of Jehovah's hands, why could Jehovah not keep him…[Read more]

From Jonah’s experience we learn that it is the course of wisdom for us to obey Jehovah’s commands. Also, we are helped to appreciate more fully that it is Jehovah’s will for us to extend mercy to others, even as he did.

Addressing athiest Diderot before the court of Catherine the Great, Euler solemnly said: “Sir, (a + bn) / n = x, hence God exists. Reply!”Since Diderot was not mathematically sophisticated, he did not know what to say. He was laughed out of St. Petersburg.I'm not that great at math. Are you asking that question because Sunday is supposed to be…

The sperm whale is fully capable of swallowing a man whole. So is the great white shark. The Bible, though, simply states: “Jehovah appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah.” (Jonah 1:17) The kind of fish is not specified. It cannot be determined with certainty whether it was a sperm whale, a great white shark, or some other unidentified sea cre…[Read more]

“Jehovah appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah.” (Jonah 1:17) Jehovah's hand was involved. Do not limit him.

Quote So here it is plain that Sheol is in the earthRight, a persons grave (where they are dead) usually is in the earth. And they are usually dead before they enter their grave. But Jonah, for example referred to the belly of the fish as “the belly of sheol.” In Jonah's case, his grave wouldn't be in the earth. His death was to take place in…[Read more]

Quote Some suggest that Sheol is a general word for death, a mythical common grave. They say it is not a place but a condition. Or they say it is a state of existence like to death such as Jonah in the whale. If you're referring to me, I haven't really said any of these things. I haven't said it's a word for death. I have said it's the “common…[Read more]

Does your Bible not say?“Jonah PRAYED to Jehovah his God FROM THE INWARD PARTS OF THE FISH and said: ‘Out of my distress I called out to Jehovah, and he proceeded to answer me. OUT OF THE BELLY OF SHEOL I cried for help. You heard my voice.’” (Jon 2:1, 2)It is JONAH who called the belly of the fish, the belly of sheol. This obviously does not mea…[Read more]

No, he didn't die, but it was like he was lying in his grave. And the dirt was being poured on. He was as good as dead. The belly of sheol, was the belly of the fish. It was to be his watery grave.
