PSALM 2:2“The kings of earth take their stand And high officials themselves have massed together as one Against Jehovah and against his anointed one,”Whose side are you on–If God says one thing and the government the opposite?

Quote Because Jesus is Lord and the Shepherd of his sheep and as they submit to his voice they will stay or move when and where he advises. Remember when Satan “tempted” Jesus by offering him all the kingdoms (governments) of the world? Jesus didn't deny that these were Satan's to give. And what tempation would it have been if they weren't…[Read more]

I always thought the “image” of God, meant we were created with certains godly characteristics (such as love, and the power of reason, etc) that, let's say the animals for example, don't have.

Quote Even non-combatant roles (like cooks and medics) involve pledging allegiance to your country – I couldn't honestly do that when I've pledged allegiance to Christ. After all, we're supposed to be “strangers and pilgrims”.Sammo, I really don't understand them. It seems they are continually saying that they would rather make their government…[Read more]

Nick, you have yet to show me a single scripture other than the 'be in subjection to the superior authorities' one.I haven't seen a single scripture from you that says: “Christians ought to be in the armed forces.”Let's look at your one scripture in the light of other scriptures.Quote I don't know a lot about Gandhi. I don't know a lot about Gandhi. So let's talk about the early Christians, and the Bible writers, and God's servants in the Bible.God’s servants have always recognized that there are limits to the subjection that they conscientiously owe to the superior authorities. About the time that Moses was born in Egypt, Pharaoh commanded two Hebrew m…[Read more]

These very ones will quietly bring in destructive sects and will disown even the owner that bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves. Have any of you had a parent that was killed in the war? A grandfather or great grandfather perhaps? An uncle? A brother? A cousin? Rest assured it wasn't one of Jehovah's Witnesses who killed them.Quote clamour of men's voices.Interesting way to describe scripture Nick.

Nick's words: If If If. Now is hard enough without all the ifs men imagine. Quote Just kidding. The motto of war: Kill or be killed. Shoot first, don't ask questions. Kill. I find your scenerio a little different than actively seeking people out to kill because they live in a different country.and God reveals an opportunity to you whereby you…[Read more]

While no scripture says: Christians must not enter the armed forces, neither does such a scripture exist that says: Christians should enter the armed forces.Especially since the early Christians refused to engage in military action, even to the point of death to themselves, it is worth our time to find out why. Quote David, you are mixing defense/protection with vengeance and hatred. The motives are not the same.Yesterday, I watched in part the Frontline documentary on Rwanda again. Quote Hi david,Is this another favourite JW moral law? Fine, don't answer the question.
