Quote Perhaps the word means “obeisance”Quote I have always thought I was worshipping Jesus but I guess I was giving him “obesiance”. Obeisance is the word most commonly used in my Bible.

MATTHEW 18:15-17““Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go lay bare his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two more, in order that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. If he does not listen to them, spe…[Read more]

Quote I have always praised, thanked, honored, kneeled, lifted holy hands while loving Jesus. Is this then wrong? One can do all these things without worshipping that person.

As Rejocying said in the JW church thread:I am studying every criticism that I hear about them. Most are unfounded and the teachings are more biblical than the accusers. I also noticed that people who know nothing of the JWs have an unexplained vehement anger toward them. This continues to amaze me.And then we have H's comment:Quote What about…[Read more]

Quote So if we use that reasoning to say that JWs are the Body of Christ, then you would also have to add the Mormons too.As I expressly explained t8, I am not really saying that this proves anthing. I am saying that all those who are not unitedly preaching the good news of God's kingdom with fellow worshippers the world over, are not carrying…[Read more]

To Heiscoming and Nick,This is me budding in,I have noticed on this thread that sometimes I have gone pages talking with someone thinking they understand what I am saying or I think I understand what they are saying (such as with Nick and myself) only to find out I don't or they don't.Due to the nature of the forum, things aren't always exactly…[Read more]

Nick, there is no question that, as Hebrews 1:4 says, “he has become better than the angels, to the extent that he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs.”Nick, what does your Bible say at this verse?Nick, imagine that there were 50 administrators on this site, and that you've just been given a very special commision. If I said of you:…[Read more]

Quote more validity because of age.Well H, perhaps Nicks opinion has more validity than yours. He's older.Quote To date, there are absolutely no ancient Greek Mss (i.e. pre-7th cent) that contain 1 John 5.7.I believe that above quote, bears repeating:THE OLDEST AVAILABLE MANSUSCRIPTS DO NOT CONTAIN THIS SPURIOUS VERSE. Hi Mercy,On page 14 of this thread, I list some reasons why the fact that the word proskyneo is used with reference to Jesus doesn't mean he should be worshipped. That word has severl shades of meaning. Please consider what I wrote.david

I'm sorry H. But what has Nick done? I'm still confused by this. How many times are you to forgive him? It seems you are pushing this, trying to be justified. Let God be justified. Quote We differ on this issue as I believe you can be saved even if you believe in a trinity (We've discussed this on other threads), therefore in my opinion many of those in a “church” though lacking in truth are on the right path just further behind us. There are 96,000 congregations I could point you toward that are definitely not trinitarian. Quote But Jesus is more than the Wisdom of God.Obviously, Jesus, although called:“the power of God and the wisdom of God,” and also the “wisdom from God.” (1 cor 1:24,30) does not mean that:Jesus = wisdom. You obviously can't use the words interchangeably. And nor can you substitue the word “rock” for Jehovah, even though he is a few times called…[Read more]
