Quote n ChristIn my experience, BF, JWs will generally shy away from exegetical discussions about this doctrine. Wouldn't your experience be me leaving 20 pages of responses, replies and answers to repeated arguments against it, in 2 or 3 different threads on this subject? If others you have talked to do shy away from it, it is because they realize…[Read more]

Quote Celebrate the birth of Y'shua. In your opinion Laurel, why did the earliest Christians not celebrate his birth, or anyone else's?You speak of light and try to connect the light of Christmas to Jesus. The reason people brought light into their homes around that time of year (which wasn't Jesus birthday) was because they were trying to revive…[Read more]

I just noticed Nick said this on the first page:Quote David has told us how much the Jehovahs witnesses have suffered persecution for their beliefs. The situation is far from unique.I'm not saying no other groups are persecuted. What I'm saying is that:Jehovah's Witnesses are among the most frequent targets of government-sanctioned suppression and…[Read more]

“Why does Hebrews 1:10-12 quote Psalm 102:25-27 and apply it to the Son, when the psalm says that it is addressed to God? Because the Son is the one through whom God performed the creative works there described by the psalmist. (See Colossians 1:15, 16; Proverbs 8:22, 27-30.) It should be observed in Hebrews 1:5b that a quotation is made from 2…[Read more]

Quote I would like to recommend an excellent refutation of the Watchtower publication “Should you Believe in the Trinity”. It's titled “Why you Should Believe in the Trinity – An Answer to the Jehovah's Witnesses” by Robert M Bowman, Jr. It exposes the faulty reasoning and intellectual dishonesty that permeates the WT document. And, i would like to…[Read more]

No. I find that this website takes up way too much of my time as it is. Some of it is time well spent. Some, not. While it was interesting finding other groups (really, individuals) who don't believe in the trinity, it turns out they don't quite believe just as we do. Something to do with the holy spirit.I also was somewhat suprised to find…[Read more]

While some may love…Christmas, for example, the real question is: Does Jesus? The facts are: –It is the birthday of the sun god, not his birthday.–How does Jesus and his father view false gods?–He commanded us to memorialize his death and nothing else.–The earliest Christians refused to celebrate his birthday or any one else's. Why?–Greed…[Read more]

Quote seems to have a strong hatred of JWs but I'd wager than a serious JW would eat his lunch in a face to face conversation. For whatever reason, he doesn't converse. He pastes. He pastes and re-pastes. He barely converses. I was once driven to repeatedly ask, beg and plead for an actual conversation where we would ask each other questions…[Read more]

Quote Unfortunately, unless someone is genuinely interested in accurate knowledge they will continue to accuse with false motives. Hi Biblio.I realize that. Quote I know Wikipedia has names of those who were killed or exiled because of their anti-trinitarian views. The Unitarian Michael Servetus was burned at the stake for being a heretic. Too true. It usually seems to be the trinitarians who are burning the non-trinitarians. Why is that?

Quote As I've pointed out to CB, Jehu means “He is God” so when you are talking about names in Hebrew, they have significance.HI kejonn. I'm pretty sure a possible meaning of Jehu is “Jehovah is he.”Since you were speaking of the importance of names, I though we should not neglect God's name and replace it with titles.

The phrase “Lord God” almost never appears in the Bible. That is, it appears in Bibles, but these are misrepresentations. You'll notice that “LORD” is in capital letters. That is to remind you that this is where they have replaced God's name with the title “LORD.”Quote I'm not looking to disprove so much as see where the need for the doctrine…[Read more]

Quote Where did Jesus speak his name in scripture? So you believe that Jesus, said: “I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world” didn't follow with the rest of the Bible which used God's name thousands of times, more times than the word “God” and “Lord” and “Father” and “almighty” combined! You're saying that when J…[Read more]
