Quote (t8 @ May 20 2013,15:43)If there was no God, then there would be no Atheists because the opposite of God is nothing and nothing does nothing and nothing doesn’t create AtheistsIf the opposite of God is nothing, then are you are saying that god is everything. Something about your statement seems off

I agree. If you don't know what the first book of the nt is, you aren't a Christian. (Meaning: follower of Christ)Anyone can say they are a Christian just like anyone can say they are an astronaut, but saying something doesn't make it so.

Quote (Lightenup @ May 17 2013,02:52)Quote Jesus is called the “word,” because he was Jehovah's prime spokesman, his prime messenger.  He was sent by God, to convey thoughts, just as a word does.  The spokesperson for a group is still a part of the group and speaks for the group which they themselves is a part of. Jesus speaks for Himself as w…[Read more]

Quote In the OT, the Word of Jehovah who came in a vision to Abram (a vision is something seen and not just heard), tells Abram that He is Jehovah. Gen 15.Jesus is the Word of God who was with God in the beginning and who was God. There are places in the bible where its clear that when it says “word,” it's just referring to messages. There does…[Read more]

Quote (Lightenup @ May 15 2013,12:52)Quote I see no real evidence that Jehovah (the Father) is called the son. Well, David, perhaps I have not made myself clear but I agree that Jehovah the Father is not called the Son, only Jesus is the Son of God. I am saying that Jehovah the Father gave his name to His Son…Do you know any fathers and sons…[Read more]

For me, asking if jesus is also Jehovah, seems very similar to asking: “Is the son also the father”.As my post made clear, Jesus was recognized as the “son” (of God) by a wide variety of persons. He was known as the “son of God,” by those around him, and by those who accused him.Similarly, 1000 times in the Hebrew Scriptures, “Jehovah” is called…[Read more]

I just think that anyone reading the Bible, is given tremendous amounts of clear evidence that Jesus is the Son (of God).  I see no real evidence that Jehovah (the Father) is called the son.  It seems so very very clear that Jesus was the “Son of God,” but to me, there is virtually no proof that Jehovah is the son, or spoken of in that way.  I kn…[Read more]

Some of the reasons why you believe there is “Jehovah the son””1. Jesus says that the Father (named Jehovah) has given Jesus His (the Father's) name in John 17. 2. I believe the Word of God (Jesus) was called Jehovah at times. 3. There are things done by Jehovah in the future that don't seem to speak of the Father but rather the Son.4. The Word of…[Read more]

Quote You can go to http://www.peshitta.org and check out the forum over there which defends this.Looked at the forum. People both defend it and attack it. It's sort of like the trinity over here. I'm not sure there is anywhere on that site that clearly explains the proof. Much like this site, there are people arguing over it.

Quote I suggest that there is Jehovah the Father, Jehovah the Son (John 17 the Son claims the Father gave Him His own name.)
