Jewish scholar Abba Hillel Silver wrote that according to “the popular chronology” of the day, “the Messiah was expected around the second quarter of the first century C.E.”—-A History of Messianic Speculation in Israel, Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver, 1927, Macmillan Co., pg 5-7Now for the full quote. Quote But as usual, you avoided the last post. I said the OT speaks of a messianic era. That era has not come. Hi Kejonn. I don't know why and I'm not sure exactly what it's based on,, but yes, they did believe in a messianic era. And they seem to believe for whatever reason that it would begin around the time of Jesus. The first 2 quarters of…[Read more]

Quote BTW, God willingly threw a stumbling stone in our way? Or he knew the hearts of the majority of Israelites and understood the future. After the nation of Israel was crushed by the Roman army, the people were enslaved and dispersed around the world. In their adversity they began to wonder why the Messiah had apparently missed his appointment…[Read more]

Quote So while Christ and the Spirit may not be divided, the body is. Big time. That is one possibility. The other possibility is that these ones are not the body of Christ, for Christ is not divided. His disciples are not divided. The truth is not divided. The false teachers, bad fruit, ones who say “lord, lord” that Jesus foretold are…[Read more]

Hi Theo.Yes, to err is human. You've said that a couple times now and no one is disagreeing with that. We all stumble in word and deed many times, and I more than most. But, if it is too much to read all I wrote, then perhaps I'll just say this on tithing:The Bible states categorically that the sacrificial death of Jesus, in 33 C.E., “blotted o…[Read more]

On Tithing:At no time were first-century Christians commanded to pay tithes. The primary purpose of the tithing arrangement under the Law had been to support Israel’s temple and priesthood; consequently the obligation to pay tithes would cease when that Mosaic Law covenant came to an end as fulfilled, through Christ’s death on the torture sta…[Read more]

The criminal might look upon his imprisonment as an “evil” thing, for example, but it is justice and good on the part of the righteous that God does such things. It cannot be considered “evil” as you most often see that word used.

Quote Did you know that God created evil, and made the wicked? Isaiah45:6-7 I am Ieue Alueim, and there is none else. Former of light and Creator of darkness, Maker of good and Creator of evil.My Bible translates that word as “calamity.” And for those who he casts judement on, it is certainly that, and can be perceived as evil or bad.But he is…[Read more]

Quote Did God make this serpent (Satan or the devil) just as an experiment? Or did He know, being an all-wise God, just what would be the result? I don't believe God made “Satan” (resister/opposer) or “devil” (slander) any more than a parent “makes” a criminal. The child itself chooses that way of life and eventually becomes a criminal.Yes, God…[Read more]

What does his book say?Yes, we've heard: “Just read it” many times.Apparently, it is a wonderful book, with wonderful things in it. Yet no one really wants to discuss what is actually in this book, what this book teaches. Why is that?Oh, “just read the book.” What makes this book so wonderful? What has he said that others haven't said? What…[Read more]
