1 In beginning God created the heavens and the earth.2 Now the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface of watery deep; and God’s active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters.3 And God proceeded to say: “Let light come to be.” Then there came to be light. 4 After that God saw that the l…[Read more]

Quote If goodness could have been given us automatically then God would be the worst monster who ever lived by allowing all this evil to inflect us all, But God has did it for our ultimate Good. There IS purpose to this creation brother.Of course there is purpose to this creation. But God did not purpose for their to be evil, wickedness,…[Read more]

Quote And who made the “evil one”? Do we have another creator?A thief is not born a thief. They choose to become one. The angel who rebelled and came be called “Satan” (meaning opposer/resister) was not created as a resister, just as a thief is not born a thief.

Quote God knew before man was created, that he would sin.Irene, does having the ability to know, mean that you must use that ability? To me, it seems unjust or unloving to say: 'If you do this, things will go well, but if you do this, things will not' when you know things will not go well.Could not he have the ability but not neccessarily use it at…[Read more]

Quote The scripture you quoted about choosing for yourself who yo will serve was talking to carnal minded people who did not chose rightSo, Gene, they had a choice then? If they did not chose right, they must have had a choice. Of course they did. It would have been silly for God to put a choice before them, if they had not choice. Quote The…[Read more]

Quote Lets’ be painfully clear, so people can see your attempt to pull the wool over their eyes:Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.Heaven is defined as the ‘firmament’:Gen 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. Talk about “pulling wool over people's eyes.”The Bible obviously uses the word “heaven” in a variety of meani…[Read more]

The Pharisees believed in a combination of predestination and free will. In other words, “everything is foreseen, yet freedom of choice is given.” They nevertheless held that Adam and Eve were predestined to sin and that even a minor cut on the finger is preordained.Jesus may have had such false ideas in mind when he spoke about the collapse of…[Read more]

If God foreknew and decreed Adam’s fall into sin, (if it was PREDESTINED) then Jehovah became the author of sin when he made man and he would be responsible for all human wickedness and suffering. This cannot be reconciled with the fact that Jehovah is a God of love who hates wickedness. (Psalm 33:5; Proverbs 15:9; 1 John 4:8

Augustine, the Father of PredestinationThe New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge says: “Previous to Augustine there was no serious development in Christianity of a theory of predestination.” Before Augustine, earlier so-called “Church Fathers” such as Justin, Origen, and Irenaeus “know nothing of unconditional predestin…[Read more]

“You Must Choose”On numerous occasions Jehovah encouraged his loyal ones to choose a virtuous course. For example, when Jehovah concluded a covenant with the ancient nation of Israel, he said to them, through Moses: “I do take the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you today, that I have put life and death before you, the blessing and t…[Read more]

Quote David …..what your saying is we work our way into the kingdom and your leaving God out of the pictureHi Gene. I don't remember saying anything in the slightest like that. What I did say is that the idea of predestination is completely unbiblical. Yes, there are a few scriptures that can be misunderstood in that way. But the whole of…[Read more]

How Long Is a Genesis “Day”?Many consider the word “day” used in Genesis chapter 1 to mean 24 hours. However, in Genesis 1:5 God himself is said to divide day into a smaller period of time, calling just the light portion “day.” In Genesis 2:4 all the creative periods are called one “day”: “This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time…[Read more]
