While in the ministry, I've only met a few priests, ministers, etc. Rather than discuss scripture, they often seem to like to state what they believe and then point to the pile of books they've read as confirmation that what they believe is right. At that point, I feel like suggesting that perhaps he had been reading the wrong books.

Quote So how many Gods or gods are there for you brother David;one is almighty and other is small 'god' or mighty god. Am I correct ?Golli, I think if we understood what “god” means, this would be easier to understand. It is a word that means “strong one” or “powerful one.”And while many have certain degrees of power, some more than others, there…[Read more]

WJ, what are your thoughts on the Sahidic Coptic translating of John 1:1 as “a god.”Much was made of it in the scholarly world when an apocryphal gospel written in Coptic, titled the “Gospel of Thomas,” was discovered in Egypt near Nag Hammadi in December 1945. Yet, after an initial welcome, the scholarly world has been strangely silent about an…[Read more]

Quote The difficulty is this:- John 1:3, Col 1:16, 1 Cor 8:6, Heb 1:3 and Heb 1:10 all establish that Yeshua, at the very least, was involved in the creation event. Isa 44:24 does not allow for the involvement of any agency outside of YHWH.Hi Paul. It's been a while. I wish you would discuss Phil 2:5-7 in that thread. I respect your research…[Read more]

Nick, I've twice now mentioned to you that this thread is about “HOW” the good news is to be preached, not WHAT we are to preach. (There is another thread on that subject.) As a moderator, I'd think you'd want to be an example in following the rules.
