Quote HERE IS MY PROBLEM,IF Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, that doesnt add to the Trinitarian bases of God being a Trintiy, nor does it add to the Antitrinitarian, all it means that Jesus is the First and the Last,Just as many places in scriptures says taht Jesus is the Firstborn of all creation, the first to rise fromt he dead, and what not.I…[Read more]

Quote THx for stealing my Thread!–SFYour welcome SF. I've had these discussions in the 5 or 6 “alpha Omega” threads, but my posts are always lost in the middle and I can never find them. If anything, this is just to simplify things for myself. I was pretty sure I had started a discussion on this already, but I simply can't find it.

And finally, we have this scripture:REVELATION 22:12-13““‘Look! I am coming quickly, and the reward I give is with me, to render to each one as his work is. I am the Aĺpha and the O·méga, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”It is evident that a number of persons are represented as speaking in this chapter of Revelati…[Read more]

For the sake of completeness, I thought I'd include this:REVELATION 22:12 (TODAY’S ENGLISH VERSION)It's clear that some Bibles want this to be Jesus. At Revelation 22:12, TEV inserts the name Jesus, so the reference to Alpha and Omega in verse 13 is made to appear to apply to him. But the name Jesus does not appear there in Greek, and other t…[Read more]

REVELATION 21:6-7“And he said to me: “They have come to pass! I am the Aĺpha and the O·méga, the beginning and the end. To anyone thirsting I will give from the fountain of the water of life free. Anyone conquering will inherit these things, and I shall be his God and he will be my son.”Who is the speaker? Notice verse 7. Jesus always referr…[Read more]

Before moving on to Rev 21:6, I think we should also include Rev 1:17,18. This scripture (Rev 1:17,18) is referring to Jesus, as the first and the last in a specific way. But just because Jesus is called the first and the last in a specific way, does not mean that he is the Father, who is the first and the last in a very different way. It would…[Read more]

REVELATION 1:8“The Lord God says, ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the One who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty!’” (The New American Bible) While Jesus Christ is referred to in the previous verse as “coming with the clouds,” the words of Revelation 1:8 indicate that it is “the Lord God,” “the Almighty” who is speaking. In Scrip…[Read more]

I'd like to begin with the most simple one, the one that doesn't belong: Revelation 1:11REVELATION 1:11The phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last” found in the King James Bible and a few others, is NOT found in some of the oldest Greek manuscripts, such as the Alexandrine, Sinaitic, and Codex Ephraemi rescriptus. Most modern ver…[Read more]

t8, I think you are mostly arguing the wrong thread. But you did say this;”A witness is someone who speaks the true message of God about God.” (bold added)Quote Christians are given the NT to spread the word concerning Christ, no?So when I saw someone's “witnessing for YHVH” I had to question whether this was right or not.–DavidBFunAnd as I…[Read more]

How is the book of Revelation presented?Revelation 1:1 explains that the revelation was given by GOD through JESUS CHRIST, and therefore the one speaking, through an ANGELIC REPRESENTATIVE at times is God himself, and at other times it’s Jesus Christ. And sometimes JOHN himself is speaking. Hence,it is reasonable to expect the words of Jehovah G…[Read more]

Quote If we are to witness for Jehovah, what are we supposed to talk about?A Witness is someone who tells what they know about something. We are to “witness” about God, and what he has done to save mankind through his son, Jesus. We also witness or preach Jesus.Concerning God, we preach, first and most basically, that he exists. We preach and…[Read more]

Here's another possibility:A PUZZLE (John 21:12)Looking at commentaries, some describe John 21:12 as “somewhat puzzling.”The Puzzle: Why would Jesus’ disciples who were standing in front of him ever have to ask Jesus: “Who are you”?“Not one of the disciples had the courage to inquire of him: “Who are you?” because they knew it was the Lord.” (Joh…[Read more]

Quote Now a different word; Elohim: (from the Kabbalah, Jewish Mysticism)DBF, why is it that when I tried to find “Eloh” it basically didn't exist, except for several websites that all seemed to focus on the occult?I just can't find any information on that word.

Quote The information is clear:God's image = male and femaleWe are created in God's image, male and female. DBF, do you see how these are saying two very different things:1. “God's image = male and female.”2. “We are created in God's image, male and female.”1 Implies that God's very image is “male and female.” It's as if you are picturing some 2…[Read more]

“Jehovah” is in the KJ, and not “YHVH” yet YHVH seems to fit the 63 pattern.Yet, if God used the KJ to set out a Bible code, why would he not have His own name fit the pattern?Possible answers:1. There is no pattern. It's a matter of people creating and picking and choosing to arrive at a pattern.2. ?Ed, did you have an alternate answer?

Quote YHVH is (יהוה) God's Name translated directly into English.Quote GOD’s Name (יהוה) transliterates directly into English as YHVH because the Hebrew alphabetlacks vowels. To transliterate is different than to translate.
