The next day is my hope, and that I might make something useful out of it. If I don't see the next day, then so be it. I'm thankful with the life G-d has given me already.Seriously, to have hope in heaven tends to rob yourself of the experience here. If such is in store, why is G-d wasting our time with the years here? Is this life just a testing…[Read more]

Sorry, maybe your understanding does but mine comes from personal everyday experience. After all, that is what you are reading in Tanakh: the experiences of others as they served G-d. Sometimes people's anger got the best of them and they lashed out but claimed G-d told them to do so. Its one of the biggest forms of human escapism, to blame our…[Read more]

Because I can look out the window and view His creation? Because I can look at my children and know there is a G-d? That's all the proof I need.Sorry, but I just happen to believe that the Tanakh is the closest writings we have to the real G-d. Still, it fails in so many ways because it was written by humans. We tend to be a fallable lot.

Good luck but you are on your own absolutelyWell, someone needs to point to the errors of Christianity. So many people being duped. Quote (Nick Hassan @ Dec. 20 2007,15:53)Hi Tow, So what of Elisha?Another devilish lie in the OT?As usual I can depend on Nick to put in words I never said. You're really good (and painfully obvious) at that.I never called such things “devilish lies”, so all reading this will know that it was Nick who said such a thing.Regardless, as I just…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Dec. 20 2007,15:51)Hi Tow, Elisha did too 26Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well: 27And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away.…[Read more]

Make sure the person was verfied as clinically dead by a doctor for at least 4 days and then have someone raise that person from the dead. Just like 'ol Lazarus. You're proof is about Peter from your GT. Since I view the GT as fiction anyways, what have you proved? Is Peter the last true follower of Jesus then? Is that what you are saying?

Only if you want to. Freedom of choice. Like I said, it was written by humans, just like you. Is everything you write the truth? Did you ever feel 'inspired' and then act on that inspiration only to find out later that what you did was not of G-d?I'm sure those that killed Jews felt inspired of G-d to do so. Therein lies the fallacy.

Or should we take this as a sign that none of you are true followers of Jesus?

Well darn, here I was thinking you'd come to me for advice. You've ruined my day. Well, in reality you've really just ruined 5 secs of my day.Since Jesus promised that his followers could do greater things than he did, where are all the Christians raising people from the dead?

Could be. Where did the ones on the opposing side learn to turn their staves into snakes?

Again, you try you best to insert words into my mouth, but homey don't play that game. I merely said why he was crucified. I'm not the one who wrote Roman laws.

Parts of the OT are certainly suspect, but much less of the real Tanakh is. Your OT is translated with heavy Christian bias. Here is what is untrue: cruelty by man attributed to G-d. Outlandish miracles with no real proof other than someone wrote about it. Silly dietary rules that only made sense in the time they were written (modern handling of…[Read more]

Nah, Jesus died because he was an insurrectionist. He claimed to be a king in front of Pilate and that was a no-no while under Roman rule. That is why he put the inscription on the cross for all to see. It showed people what happens to those who would be king while under Roman rule.

Who said I had a place among them? Not me. You keep saying things that I never said myself. Is that how you got so many posts by putting words in people's (virtual) mouthes? And no book saves me. It is just that, words on paper. Does Harry Potter save you? The idea of 'salvation' is a Christian one. The word 'salvation' in the Jewish scriptures has…[Read more]

I think I did. I said “Until such miracles can be produced in modern society, I will find no reason to believe them. That includes the Tanakh, yes.“Thus such miracles were likely exaggerations or inserted stories to impress people into believing. After all, if someone can do such miracles, then they have to have power from G-d right? If that is so…[Read more]

Yes but which god? It can't be YHVH G-d because Jesus cannot be the Jewish King Messiah. He did not fulfill any messianic prophecies of the Tanakh so the god you speak of in Christ is a pagan one.

Until such miracles can be produced in modern society, I will find no reason to believe them. That includes the Tanakh, yes. Like I said, I am a deist, which means I believe in a Creator. However, of all the revealed religions, Judaism is the one that I believe has the most truth but like anything involving humanity, it is not 100% true. That is…[Read more]

Nick,Please show where I called John the Baptist a prophet. Also, there is no definite article accompanying the Greek word for prophet so there is no real reason to translate 'the prophet'. It should really be 'a prophet' due to the lack of a definite article.
