Not3,I really hope you are not witnessing to others. You believe a doctrine that the church has condemned as heretical for 1500 years. James warned that teachers will be receive a greater judgment. James 3:1. You need to stop, read the Bible, pray, learn from your fellow saints and read those who have died, until you understand the Trinity.Tim

Quote (Not3in1 @ April 25 2007,15:31)Thomas knew. “My Lord and My God”*********************************Boy, you guys really love Thomas, don't you?Paul tells us there is One God, and one Lord. If Thomas is confessing (as you hope he is) that Jesus is both that same One God AND Lord – then Thomas is confused! Note that he is the only one of the f…[Read more]

Hi Nick,Why do you follow this 16th century human tradition of verses and not listen to the whole of Scripture? I've shown where it is written that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each God, but you won't listen.A mediator has to be able to bind both parties in order for the mediation to accomplish anything. How can someone less than God…[Read more]

The Scriptures declare that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are God. I've been asking anyone on this site to refute this for weeks, and nobody has. This is the content of the Athanasian Creed. So if you don't refute this and accept it as true, you are Trinitarian (and thus Christian), and no inference is needed.Christians have also understood…[Read more]

Hi David,Well I think you have a hard time arguing that the Holy Spirit doesn't know in light of 1 Corinthians 2:10-11. “The Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.” So there's no limit to what He knows. Again, “The thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.” So when it is declared that only God knows, it's implicit…[Read more]

David,The Trinity doctrine does not deny unity. It confesses unity. This is one of the opening lines of the Athanasian creed. It seems that you believe John 17:20ff is speaking only of unity of will and purpose. But we know that believers have a much greater unity than this. They have unity of being. They are one body. 1 Corinthians 12:12.…[Read more]

David,I wrote that Jesus prayed for the persons of His church to be one body and spirit with Him, just as the persons of the Trinity are one God.Your response is John 17:22, “That they may all be one, just as We are one.” This Scripture confirms what I said. The persons of the church are one body and one spirit with the Lord (1 Corinthians…[Read more]

Adam,With respect to Jeremiah 33:16, note that the previous verse prophecies the coming of the Christ. If you compare 33:15-16 with 23:5-6, you will see that they are parallel verses and proclaim the coming of the Messiah, as is indicated by the promise of perpetual kingship and priesthood in vv. 33:17-18. Now if 33:16 is talking about the city…[Read more]

Adam,There is no suggestion in the Bible that a city or an entire nation is God. But the Bible explicitly says that the Christ is God (John 1:1). You say this means he's just like Moses or a judge of Israel (because all things were created through Moses, right? And all things are for the judges of Israel, right?)So given explicit declaration…[Read more]

Jesus is a man. No one (I hope) is denying that. That's why He is a servant of God. But He's also God. That's why He's equal to the Father.

Hi Nick,Jesus prayed to God because He is man. Athough He is God, for our salvation He became man.You believe that the Father is God because the Bible says He is. You do well. The Bible also says that the Son is God. Believe.Tim
Tim2 replied to the topic Inference in the forum Truth or Tradition 17 years, 7 months ago
Nick,Saying that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Spirit is God are three different statements. Each one is explicitly taught in Scripture. This isn't putting anything together. It's just saying what Scripture says. By your own standards you can only believe one statement in the Bible, because if you believe more than one Scriptural…[Read more]

Proof that the Spirit is a person: John 14:16. The Spirit is called Parakletos, which is by definition a person, a comforter or helper; as opposed to paraklesis, which means comfort or consolation, and is by definition impersonal.
