Greetings BrothersIt has been difficult for me to argue this matter when I have not known the exact thing, ie which version of preterism we are talking about, and I am not good at second guessing or moving targets. This being said, I think enough has now been discussed to establish that the peterists got it wrong, and their often revised views are…[Read more]

Greetings Cindy/Irene And KerwinAs for me, I think you are doing very well Irene. And while the sinfulness of the being we once were is indeed no longer imputed to us after acquiring faith, being baptised, receiving the holy spirit and loving the brothers, WE MUST NOT PRACTISE SIN. Now you and I will sin to one extent or another until the day we…[Read more]

Brothers, KerwinI am not certain whether you read all of my posts over at “Context”, but the whole thing began when I said I was not baptised by them, being the JWs. Then a person without really reading what I actually had said heavily implied that as an unbaptised person I could not be saved. I then went on to say that I had been baptised…[Read more]

Men, BrothersI was invited or redirected to this topic by Kerwin who admonished me for saying that Christian baptism is symbolic, and not a miracle occurring when the bathing in water actually transports us to being dead and burried with Christ. And after reading a number of pages in this topic, all I see are people smiting each other with…[Read more]

Greetings Laurel and CindyNow this below is what Peter, the first to baptise in the Lord's name after he left them, is what Baptism is:when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves y…[Read more]

Greetings IreneYes, you are right. When I said I was not baptised I meant into the JWs. They get all excited about being baptised by them and then falling away from “the truth”, disfellowshipping and such. I was, however baptised or “christened” as a baby by a COE priest. But that is one of the problems isn't it. Does receiving baptism from someone…[Read more]

Hi Samual & BTSamual, I cannot fault your understanding thus:It appears that the close or end of the Natural Jewish system is not the “end time” referred to by Daniel. Because there was a connection with the end time and the resurrection of the dead, I can only conclude that this shattering of the holy people takes place in the future, near or…[Read more]

Greetings DavidI have just read your above post, and I then read it again carefully. For your comments seem to give you away as one of those people who, at the direction of their masters (the Watchtower Bible And Tract Society) seek and claim to have an “earthly hope”. Now if this is not so, please confess your sort to be otherwise and tell me…[Read more]

Greetings You PeopleI have often thought of these scriptures below, known as the beatitudes or supreme blisses if you like roman things, as being a definition for righteous people, but of two groups. I have numbered each blessing to better discuss them individually. (1)3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (2)4…[Read more]

Hi Sam & BTAs I have said, we keep seeinf both epochs in these scriptures, which can only mean one thing. Some are for one, some for the other and others for both. The trick is which are wich.O dear, my visitor is arriving. I will get back. (great discussion though)!RS

Hi NickThe lake of fire is prepared for all the unrighteous indeed, Satan, his angel followers and men resurrected to a judgement of everlasting death (Rev 20). And, most importantly death itself. But there is no scripture that says that the angels who did foresake their station before the flood belonged to Satan either – unless you count Enoch as…[Read more]

Hi NickI have already given you the scritures above, in Lev 16 and 1 Pet 3. You have chosen to deny this but have failed to give me a scripture that refutes me. This is the point of the whole thing, that is the scapegoat – it is proving that “God is not partial” like other judges. If you were an angel and God said “well, I'm going to give sinful…[Read more]

Hi NickWhy do you think God does not offer preaching and mercy to angels? What is the basis of your judgement against them and what does our flesh have to do with it (“He knows we are but flesh”)? You have been shown that God has mercy for all his creatures, yet would you choose not to believe for the sake of your own pride and belief in the…[Read more]

Hi NickWhat do you not agree with completely? Are you saying that the Lord did not at all preach to fallen angels but only to pre-deluge men? Or even just all men dead who had not heard the Gospel from adam's off-spring down and not these angels? I do not think that the two are mutually exclusive. You began a subject called “The Scapegoat”. I have…[Read more]

Greetings Nick and other brothers Who find interest THE SCAPEGOAT AND WHO IS AZAZELNow what follows may seem long winded, but my preoccupation with it stems from the deep want to understand fully the rituals of atonement or Yom Kippur in Mosaic law, for we know from scripture that they are symbolic of our Lord taking our sins to…[Read more]

Greetings Samual & BTI'm lost! Whatever happened to Mat 24 and preterism. Anyway, about the earth, it is this system of things that is going to be destroyed – not the dirt and water. The metaphoric language so used throughout these various scriptures is intended to convey the finality of the judgements involved. There again, our God can do…[Read more]

Hi NickI now know basically what it is all about. It seems I have been given something. However, I need to do a little more scripture searching before I have “knowledge” on the matter.S, I will do that today and get back on my conclusion. But you are right, it is NOT satan – but it is a spirit(s). I just need to find some other scripture that…[Read more]

Hi NickYes, when you say “Rather Azazel may represent handing over the goat to the world and it's god”, I have always suspected this is exactly the case. However, this would unargueably mean that “Azazel” is the given name of Satan, and this has deep and abiding implications if it is so. However, even the scripture in your KJV which does not…[Read more]

Greetings Samuel & BTYes indeed, I fully agree with your last posts and cracks are also appearing in the preterist doctrine already. This is why Preterism began to fracture and produce sub-preterisms. But back to Mat 24:Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.…[Read more]

Hi NickFurther to my last post, the name is indeed in the ASV. The interesting thing is, is that if you accept the Lev 16:8-10 as it is rendered therein, the scapegoat is offered as an atonement for Azazel:8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for Jehovah, and the other lot for Azazel. 9 And Aaron shall present the goat upon…[Read more]
