Nick,Quote Have you gone through the gate?Actually, I am trying to find out from you what you mean by “going through the gate”. You repeat it so often, yet I am not sure everyone knows what you mean by it. That's why I asked the questions that I did.Are you going to respond to my follow-up questions?

No, I have not done any of those things that you have mentioned above, but I also don't believe that Mark 16 was meant for all believers of all times. But, since you do, and you apparently have born the fruit, I would like to hear more about it.

Nick,Quote A friend who had just been to a retreat where he had been baptised, baptised me. Sadly he dies of cancer shortly afterwards so I cannot check the details now which is frustrating as I hope it was in the name of Jesus and not a trinity. So you are not even sure if you were baptized correctly? Shouldn't you make sure that you have “gone…[Read more]

Eliyah,My apologies. I did not mean to imply that I don't agree with anything that you have said. Obviously, there are some beliefs that we hold in common, namely that “Jehovah” and “Jesus” are false names for the Creator and His annointed, and that knowingly using those names, and shunning the more accurate names, constitutes a level of d…[Read more]

Nick,So which did you do? Pray for the Spirit, or have someone lay hands on you. And how do you know that you received the Spirit and are not just operating on your own strength and understanding? Also, did you get baptized in water when you came to your new beliefs? If so, who baptized you?

Quote Is Yahshua an “extremely poor transliteration?” Should Jesus name be “Joshua” as OneSpirit says?If God's name should be Yahwah, then transliteriting his son's name as Joshua would be grossly inconsistent, wouldn't it?I never said that “Joshua” was the correct transliteration. In fact, in my post, I used a form of the correct t…[Read more]

David wrote:Quote And no, “Jehovah” is not a proper transliteration of the divine name. Does it bother you that “Jesus” isn't either?Yes. It is a complete butchering of the original name given to the Messiah, and modern translators are well enough aware of this mistake to have fixed the problem. For example:In the KJV, Acts 7:45 reads:Quote [Read more]

Quote We must be born again of THE Spirit of God? Have you?Nick,Can I ask you what you mean by this exactly. You seem to repeat it a lot, but I am not sure what you mean by it.In other words, if I wanted to be “born again of the Spirit”, what would I do, and what would it “look like”?

David,The list that you have supplied looks to me like a list of transliterations of the name “Jehovah” into various languages. They all appear to try imitate our English version as closely as possible in the given language. So, instead of giving me a list of different names for the Almighty, in different languages, you have given me a list of…[Read more]

David,I ended my post with this:Quote However, I am not overly concerned with misrepresenting Yarimyah's or Ya'aqobh's names, as they are mere men, whom I neither worship nor serve. On the contrary, I do concern myself with trying to get the Almighty's name, and the name of His chosen one, as accurately as possible. It's a simple matter of r…[Read more]

David,Just because a mistake is repeated over and over again doesn't make it acceptable. Nearly all modern-day bibles replace YHWH's name with the title LORD – (as if that fact needs to be repeated given Eliyah's presence on this board). Yet, as a JW, you know that that is a mistake that should be corrected. The same goes for all of the na…[Read more]

Quote You're right. “Jehovah” is not how God's name was originally pronounced. Nor is “Jesus” how his son's name was prounced. Brandon,I am glad that you are devoted enough to the Almighty to try to do everything in your power to please Him. As Eliyah has put it, is there such a thing as a little paganism?Personally, I believe that trying to use the True Name of o…[Read more]

But he's stressing the fact that we're using a pagan word to refer to the Almighty, which is surely different than using a pagan word to refer to an ordinary object. Thanks for pointing that out David. Quote OneSpirit,All those ” words ” are not of the True Creator YHWH, but this is about substituting and replacing HIS NAME with pagan idol image title deities. And every pagan word should be removed from our lips within connection to YHWH, and our worship of Him, because He ONLY accepts those who worship in spirit and in TRUTH( John 4:23-24).So I…[Read more]
