Brother, what I am trying to show you is that the scriptures you gave did not allow for repentence. It simply said that if you know the truth and you sin – there is NO SACRIFICE left for those.Sometimes I DO love the chocolate cake more! :;): I am not alone, either. Thanks,Mandy

If you are a Christian then ANY SIN you are involved with is wilfully entered in to. Notice the scripture does not say there is no more sacrifice for sin for those who DO NOT REPENT, as you say. It simply says, if you know what you are doing then you are out of luck!Sure, we are to be holy as God is holy. But we are also to contend with our…[Read more]

Hbr. 10:26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.**This would include everyone I know**I guess we are all out of luck!

Playing games? Ha, I don't think so. No one plays Russian Roulet with their soul on purpose. My question was a good one however it is difficult to answer, isn't it?According to your idea of what God teaches in the bible, the devout Christian who sinned without being *able* to ask for forgiveness at the end of his life would be destroyed while…[Read more]

Doesn't the bible say that we are to be slaves – not to sin – but to the gospel.A slave is not free.

t8, thanks for the information at the beginning of this thread. You defend the NT with such vigor. How do you answer the fact that even though there are certain family manuscripts there are a zillion translations out there……….some disagree with one another. If the foundation is so secure, why is everyone walking in different…[Read more]

With all due respect bro,Quote If that person was practicing intentionally, after they had been saved and did not repent then yes, I believe they would be destroyed,Let me get this straight: so a lifelong Christian who had served the Lord for 50+ years slid into willful sin – they got in a car accident and died before they could squeek out, “God…[Read more]

94,The Commandments could not be kept, thus the blood sacrifice! Are you saying that if someone has accepted the sacrifice and then sinned but died before he could ask forgiveness – that he would die in his sins and be burned forever?

Quote (942767 @ Sep. 15 2008,07:11)Hi Mandy:As Christians we obey the commandments of the Lord.  When we make a mistake, we repent and the blood that was shed for us cleanses us from all sin.  The Holy Spirit will continue to indwell us if this is what we are doing, but if we practice sin wilfully without repenting, it is not longer the Holy S…[Read more]

I would not like God to act anyway other than he wishes. However, how we understand his ways and actions is limited. You can settle on one way to interpret the various written words, but you may be wrong.

Nick,My point is that once God gives his Spirit to his children, he does not take it away. It is a deposit that he put down on us as we are purchased from him. At any given point depending on our behavior, does God decide not to buy us from our sins? This sounds unlikely.

IF the “lake of fire” is real, then you have yourself a true burning lake where God throws his children to burn forever – nice.If the “lake of fire” stands for something else…..then the term “judgement” still could mean something else.Do we know anything for certain?
