WJ,There are a number of verses that refer to Jesus coming “from heaven,” “from above,” “sent from God,” etc., and these are all found in the gospel of John. John's baptism was “from heaven” because God was the source of the inspiration. So, too, Jesus “came from heaven” because God was the source of the seed created in Mary. It would be an…[Read more]

WJ, I have some excellent answers for you! But it's nearly mid-night here, and I'm starting to lose concentration. Let me give you some answers that will make more sense if I am fully awake :) I will post tomorrow. But you must agree that Jesus is BOTH Son of Man, and Son of God?Thanks and goodnight!

WJ,Son of God. Son of Man.

Tim, the simple truth is, it takes great inference for you to proclaim what Jesus meant when he said , “I am.” You don't really know, for sure, do you? How can you? Were you there? Did you ask Jesus after he made that statement what he meant? Of course you didn't. It COULD mean something different. In fact, we have heard a lot of other…[Read more]

Wow, Tim, I didn't know this about you. Thank you for sharing this with me. You know, it was only about 3 1/2 years ago that I was a dedicated Trinitarian. I was in ministry (up to my eyeballs, really). And then I took some time off to study. I found that the OT does tell of a son who is coming….. If you are interested, I could share with…[Read more]

God/God = GodMan/Women = ManGod/Women = Divine ManThis is the simple truth written in the gospels concerning the only begotten Son of God.God had a plan/purpose. That plan/purpose came to life through the glorious virgin conception in Mary. Mary was pregnant. Mary gave birth. God and Mary had a Son. Jesus – Son of God, and Son of Man.

Nick, good point.Tim2, one thing I want to gently warn you about…………there isn't safety in numbers. “Few” will find it. “Narrow” is the way. All are called but “few” are chosen. God seems to emphasize smaller numbers. And not all who say “Lord, Lord” will enter (even if there ministries are going well as they cast out demons and heal…[Read more]

I would love to see this thread get back on topic :)While the “Spirit” is an interesting topic, there must be a better board for it? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on “fully God, fully man.” Anyone?

WJ, I disagreed because to say that Jesus “is not God at all” is not true. While I believe that Jesus is not, himself, God Almighty – I do believe that he is the beloved (literal) Son of that One God Almighty. And because he is God's Son……he is part his Father. Just like you, are part of your Father and your Mother. Therefore, divine means…[Read more]

WJ writes:Of course but he is either true God or he is not God at all or it would be Polytheism and break the first commandment!*******************Of course I disagree with you, WJ. Jesus is God's Son………..so of course he is a part of his Father. He is divine. Not God. Remember Mary? Does anyone here give Mary any credit for contributing…[Read more]

Timothy VI wrote:But He was not the Father God, or any part of the Father God***********************Tim, Jesus was not “any part of the Father God.” This is quite a statement. Are not sons a part of their Father's?

So Jesus (the man) was pre-programed?To me, that makes Jesus' life look a bit of a mockery of mankind. He looked like a man, and talked like a man…..but he was really a pre-existent part of God that came to earth with a pre-programed mission. Wow. I'll have to ponder this some more. I'm heading to bed now. I hope this doesn't give me…[Read more]

Jesus is the second Adam …….The Jesus you believe in is not comparable to Adam. This is one of the problems that I see with this “fully God and fully man” theory.OK, really off to bed now. These forums can become addicting! :)

Tim2, do you really believe that? If you do, tell me what would have happened if Jesus didn't go to the cross, but decided to get married, and settle down with a wife and kids?

  • Profile picture of Not3in1

WJ, thank you. I will give this passage in Hebrews some thought as I head to bed. I do not believe this is proof positive of pre-existence, however.Adam is hardly comparable to an eternally pre-existent being. Rather, he was a created being made in the image of the One who created him, God. Adam was not “fully man and fully God.” Jesus could…[Read more]

Tim2, could Jesus have decided not to go to the cross? He wouldn't have, of course. But the question is – could he?

  • Profile picture of Not3in1

If Jesus were “fully God,” or God incarnate, he could have never made any other choice but to be obedient. For God cannot go against himself.Jesus didn't have a choice. :(

Yes, these are all marvelous things that you have mentioned. But the questions still remain unanswered……..
