Nick, so true. And yet we do…….develop theories, don't we?One man's theories are another man's truth. One man's truth are another man's theories. And so the wisdom of man goes.

He had to overcome – this is why Jesus can relate to us! Believe me, I've counted on that reality even today! :)

Thanks, Nick!I just wanted to make sure your belief wasn't that Jesus was “just” the vessel for God as in a incarnation.I understand that Jesus was filled with God at his baptism. And from then on – God worked in and through Jesus to accomplish his good purposes. But Jesus still remained his Son, and his own person.

Isaiah,I went right to Hebrews 1:3 to check out essence…..What I found was that Jesus is God's representative. This has always been interesting to me. Because to be someone's representative (albeit “exact” representative), you are still ONLY the representative of that person – you are not that person. To represent someone is to act in their…[Read more]

Epi,Thanks for the whole “question” lesson. It was good, and very interesting :)I'll pay attention more to questions now……But I still think some of the questions Nick throws out are just to get us thinking (and posting).

Nick,I can't wrap my mind around a “spiritual person” – what does that look like to you?Is Jesus really Jesus in this spiritual person, or is this person the logos? When this spiritual person is sent to earth, and born of Mary, does this spiritual person gain anything from he's earthly birth besides flesh? This is indeed a curious topic.

Epi,Your personal attacks on Nick are disturbing……Many here enjoy Nick's budding questions and antedotes. He won't be alone laughing, trust me. :)

Epi, I noticed you shared with us your qualifications granted to you by a Christian College; however, you didn't mention that you are also a Counselor? If you are wise, and taught in Apologetics, you must be used to receiving critical responses to your personal belief system? Apologetics must have a thick skin to some degree. In other words,…[Read more]

Nick, I have heard you say many times that Jesus is “a vessel for God from the Jordon.”Do you simply mean that God indwelled his Son with his spirit upon his baptism? Meaning, God did not incarnate into Jesus and “become” Jesus, right? Just became one with him in the very way that we also can become one with God? Please clarify when you have a…[Read more]

Epi – I'll say the same thing to you that a dear member said to me not too long ago……lighten up! :)No disrespect was intended. You feel you came to your belief honestly – I believe I came to my belief honestly – so does everyone on this board! And I have quite counting how many differing beliefs there are.So, hold fast to what is true. And…[Read more]

MALARKEY – Now there's a word we don't hear enough! :) My Dad used to say this all the time. Usually when I would give him a long, long story as to why I didn't come home on time! Ha!

I think I understand your theology, Epi. I've been studying it practically non-stop for nearly 4 years now.Funny, though, how I've read books that are almost 3 inches thick and at the end it says……”No one can fully understand the Trinity.” And this is from a book that is titled, “Understanding the Trinity.” Go figure.See, the thing is, you…[Read more]

Epi – it all helps! I was a dedicated Trinitarian until the latter part of 2003. I was raised in the Assembly of God church, and in the doctrine of the Trinity.
