Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 26 2007,15:58)Hi not3,Why should the tent in which Christ lived alter him? He is the same yesterday, today and forever-and he no longer is flesh.Because the “tent” was Mary's contribution from the line of David.  Jesus was a literal descendent – unless people don't believe that either? When a preexistent person is…[Read more]

Quote (WorshippingJesus @ June 22 2007,16:51)This leaves the Henothiest with a huge contradiction that “another god” or “divine being” was involved with God in the creation of all things.Well, I don't believe there is any contradiction regarding God being the sole creator of everything. He laid the foundations of the world with his Son (and us)…[Read more]

Quote (TimothyVI @ June 26 2007,12:35)I think that I have to agree with Nick here. The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and caused her to conceive Jesus in her womb.I doubt that her egg was impregnated with a sperm though.I even doubt that if a paternity test was given that the DNA would prove God to be the father of Jesus.God's way is a higher way…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 26 2007,09:33)Hi not3, He had to become just like us so we could follow him, a vessel for the Spirit of God to do the works of God on earth. We are also vessels for God's spirit to work through us!However, Jesus was a divine man by his conception. He also was given the spirit *without measure* at the Jordan.Question: are…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 26 2007,09:02)Hi not3, You keep forgetting the contribution of half of man from woman. It's actually at the forefront of my mind, and the reason behind many of my posts. What I am trying to say is that the scriptures can say that Jesus “came from God” because God is Jesus' true Father. God is in heaven (Jesus came from…[Read more]

Just making sure.I wasn't sure if you believed that Jesus didn't need to undergo a true conception *because* he was reborn at the Jordan or not. Now, I understand what you were saying – it was just a side trip to the topic. Gotcha. :)

Jesus was conceived. That is how Jesus “came from” the Father.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 26 2007,08:51)Sons are not ever part of their father. As you know, I strongly disagree with you here. Before they become your sons – the potential for them is a part of YOU. They “come from” YOU. Just as Jesus “came from” his Father.

We follow him.Gotcha.OK, so if I understand you correctly, being born again of the spirit at the Jordan is something that every Christian can experience? Indeed, they need to experience in order to enjoy Paradise with God and his Son.But what does this have to do with Jesus' conception process?

Asking for forgiveness of sins, and repenting of those sins is one of the first things I taught my children.

True, Nick – grace is not given that sin may abound!Co – but Jesus even said that he did not come to abolish the law? Sometimes I wonder if that means we are supposed to keep the law and yet grace is applied to us because we cannot keep it even though we try? I don't know….

Going a bit further…..I believe the reason we are “qualified” to share in the inheritance with Jesus (being co-heirs with Christ), is because we are Jesus' brothers and sisters. We have the same Father, and we have the same God!The Father qualified US for eternity because we are/and will be like the Son he loves so much. This idea would be…[Read more]

Anyone convicted of a crime could have died on a cross. So it wasn't the actual death that changed the world for mankind. If Jesus would have been tortured, and then died and buried – that would have been it. Good men die everyday. But that wasn't it………God raised Jesus to life on the third day! Because of Jesus' resurrection, we will…[Read more]
