Quote (Is 1:18 @ June 27 2007,10:10)“somatikos” – meaning “corporeally” or “physically”I know this may be a stupid question, but does this mean that Jesus was only filled with Deity “physically”?When he died (physically), did he lose that fullness of deity?I have to run my son to baseball, but thanks for the greek words, I'm gonna have to look…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 27 2007,05:39)If the term Son of God refers to the physical conception of Jesus then it is not a pure term.I agree. However, Jesus is not *just* a son of God (like many others are); Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.No other “son” of God is begotten! Right?

The corner is quite comfortable tonight……
I've been here a time or two before, so it's familiar enough.Well, that is true that John the Baptist had the spirit but was a sinful man. Humor me.With my ideas on Jesus being a true and literal son of God, he would naturally be born with God's divine essence. But because he was not God, himself, but God's Son – he was able to be tempted as we are.The reason he did not sin was not that he *couldn't* sin, but that God's spirit was with him from birth. Those who are born *of* God do…[Read more]

God addressed Jesus as “Lord” because he made him Lord! Whew, that one was easy!
The Hebrews passage is not so easy. All I can really offer is that the beginning of Hebrews is confusing to me.
