Quote (Cato @ April 08 2008,23:41)That God knew how it turned out I have no doubt. So the training of Jesus, the testing of Jesus, was not necessary at all? God knew he would remain faithful?

Thank you for this thoughtful post, Nick.Question though – the OT wasn't complete as we have it when Jesus was alive, was it?

Yes, I suppose. But my basket is beginning to overflow….what then? Plus, the basket of “too hard” a things make me question whether or not the other stuff is valid as well. You have to wonder, if God inspired the bible through men, why did he allow it to be flawed?

I definitely don't want to curse God. But I do question the bible more and more.

I'm actually taking a break from studying. I've had it for a while. I'm tempted to be done with religion all together. It seems that everyone has the truth. And it certainly becomes harder and harder to determine who is right and who is wrong.I'm tempted just to live by the Golden Rule and call it good.

Quote (kejonn @ April 03 2008,14:56)Yes, I'm learning the ways of the bible God more every day. Maybe not overwhelm our trust in HIM, but certainly in the written word about Him.

There is another section in the OT where someone has permission from God to associate with someone who can call on spirits that are dead. One is raised and when he is raised he says something like, “Why are you bothering my rest!”. I can't remember where this is located. But at any rate, we are told in certain areas to avoid people like this -…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ April 08 2008,15:58)Hi not3, It would perhaps if you were not given light on it.The light illuminates the darkness. But this is exactly my point, or my fear. What if I'm not given “light” on the errors? How will I know what is truth and what is not?

I won't stop reading the bible. There are too many wonderful things written there for me to reject it completely. But you do see my concern. There are flaws or pits. How do we know what is true and what has been added or taken away?In other words, how can we trust it?
