Hi, David, I still think that you speak with veiled speech. Can you just say “yes” or “no” or “I don't know”. I witness myself quite often though I don't do it with watchtower pamphlets. My point is can a child of God exist outside of the JW? Or is what you are getting at is that a saved individual might be a JW and not realize it. Meaning his…[Read more]

Did the thief on the cross have all doctrine correct? Did the ethiopian in his chariot praising God have every doctrine fully correct and understood as he road off? Did Cornelius the Centurian have all doctrine correct when Peter witnessed to those in his home and they received the holy spirit? If a person dies before fulling grasping all the…[Read more]

Fair enough.

Yeah I need to get into a good study on this. I have a presupposed bias inside me but realize that I need to give this the full go as for a personal study. I need to be noble like the Bereans and seek God on this one.

Thanks Nick,I will give it a read through. I think you and I must have some pretty similiar interpretations on these matters just gauging from you posts that have glanced over. I think that the majority of Christians are completely in the dark about the nature of demons. There appears to be many and various ranks amongst both angels and fallen…[Read more]

I don't mean to personally accuse you of that, sorry if I came across that way. I would be curious to know if you have read it and compared it to the new testament. If you have surely you see the overwhelming corralations that occur? I agree with you on the canon vs. non canon aspect, however, do you not see the the “themes” are consistent…[Read more]

Thanks guys for your input, I tried doing some searches for commentary to see what others have come up with. It seems to boil down to either of these 2 answers amongst most interpretations:1) rejecting the message of Christ even when knowing he truth. i.e. they cannot be prayed for and receive life (spiritual) whe they will not except the gift of…[Read more]

To clarify I dont think enoch should be considered equal scripture to the canon. Because it is apparent that it is a corrupted text. But, to dismiss the book completely and bury you head in the sand so that we don't know what the new testament writers are talking about when addressing angels or least have better clarification is silly,…[Read more]

It is in the ethopic canon. so that is not really a relevant argument. It has been in the bible for 2000 years, just not in the western canon. It would be like saying “If God didn't want church tradition, the scriptures and the Trinity doctrine all in existence the way they are today then he would have done it differently”.Is Satan and Church…[Read more]
Mercy replied to the topic Nephilim in the forum Scriptural Teachings 18 years, 9 months ago
Hi,Just noticed this thread. This subject really interests me because I believe that the Nephelim and the watchers have played a huge role in the history of man. Once armed with the knowledge of the book of enoch I realize that the new testament writers apparently felt the same. I believe that the watchers who are now in gloomy chain of darkness…[Read more]

I had an additional thought that perhaps it is referencing the Law. This is one area I have not studied very well and I understand there is a controversy over being and not being under the law. I must admit my ignorance but am aware of the controversy in general and it's most common comparitive verses that seem in conflict. If this is addressing…[Read more]

1 John 5:16-1716If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that. 17All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. What is the sin…[Read more]

Interesting read through. I can certainly tell the difference between the posters who studied through Enoch and those who either have not read it or did not give it a thorough go. I am convinced beyond doubt that the new testament writers considered it inspired. Arguments can be made that demonstrate corruption of the enoch text and I have no…[Read more]

My thoughts exactly, Nick. My concern is that to me the evidence is so overwhelming that I cannot explain the attitude of those who repress Enoch. I have come to only one conclusion possible:Romans 11:8as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to…[Read more]
Mercy replied to the topic cover over women in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 18 years, 9 months ago
I think that Paul wanted women to have a covering as a sing of authority because the fallen angels that left their first estate and are now in gloomy chains of darkness in the abyss are going to be released. (Rev. 9) Paul lived like the tribulation was coming quickly as should we.
