I agree this isn't church, however, the spirit is not limited by space. When two are more are gathered it is present. Yes, I think that means physically present. I just don't think that the spirit can't also be present if two or more are not physically together. I think God's presence can transcend spacial barriers. What about opening a church in…[Read more]

Oh by the way we don't have to interperet end time scenarios the same. But please don't accuse me a believing sci-fi fantasies.Do you believe Jesus is coming back? That event will make all sci-fi stuff look like a boring avon presentation. It is the blessed hope of the faith and without it christians are fooling themselves. Without this “sci-fi”…[Read more]

The book of Enoch was in the bible for at least 500 years before the councils of Rome. They took it out. I do not believe that Jesus, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, James and Jude quoted, referenced, confirmed and taught from Enoch in a secular sense. They taught from it because it contained inspired writ. Either it contains inspired word…[Read more]

I noticed people brought up the question of how the giants would have survived the flood. Well the answers would all only lie in speculation. Unless, a clue is hidden in scripture I am unaware of.I would like to know if some people here actually think that if scripture doesnt tell us about something then it couldnt have happened. What I mean is I…[Read more]

Genisis 3:6-7 6And the woman seeth that the tree good for food, and that it pleasant to the eyes, and the tree is desirable to make wise, and she taketh of its fruit and eateth, and giveth also to her husband with her, and he doth eat; 7and the eyes of them both are opened, and they know that they naked, and they sew fig-leaves, and make to…[Read more]

Also if you look into secular history on this you will find that indeed man believed Gen. 6 to be literally angels coming down to the daughters of men. Just like the trinity doctrine, men stepped in and didn't like what they saw and created the Cain line and Seth line teaching. History shows this. Early church had one belief and then it was…[Read more]

Kenrch,With all the love in the world you really just don't know the truth on this. Angels came into the daughters of men, Jesus knew it, the apostles knew they all taught it. Gen. chapter 6 is describing this event. Jesus is telling us that in heaven we will be like the angels. (who are in heaven and obey God, not like the angels who aren't in…[Read more]

I should clarify that, we are all sons of God now, I mean that in eternity Jesus taught that there is no marriage and thus no women submitting to husbands.
Mercy replied to the topic Women pastors / deaconesses in the forum Faith 18 years, 8 months ago
One thing that puts this into perspective is this life is short. In eternity we are all, those in Christ, the sons of God.

Just to clarify:Deacon does not necessarily = Pastor

Jill,If you truly look at the scripture it does indeed say that women can be deacons. However, it also said women are not allowed to teach over men. Both, of those statements are clear. It seems very apparent that women can hold positions in the church but none of them can be of a teaching nature (over men). The only way to change what is written…[Read more]

The only thing I will add to this is that I see where both sides are coming from. One side is stating a conversion experience The other side is stating the pattern laid out in scripture for the definition of what conversion isOnly the individual and God will know if his experience is in line with scripture (assuming he/she knows scripture)Romans…[Read more]

This is a study that greatly interests me. I am in need of some learning concerning this. So without being able to solidly build a case for either position, I do have observations from scripture that I can't ignore. It seems that the gospel is to be preached to everyone and that by hearing the word of God faith might come. I do think that the…[Read more]

I stand with ya on God's word being infallable, but I don't quite get what scripture and verse you have that says the KJV of 1611 is an inspired translation. I love the KJV, but I don't think the translators were inspired. The doctrine of preservation of God's word, I whole hardedly agree with. I just don't believe that the preserving has taken…[Read more]

If you read Enoch you may reconsider that Jesus taught nothing from it. Jude, Jesus's own brother, does indeed quote it. It is fair to judge the Jews concerning the Old Testament canon? It depends on what Jews at what time. The bible is very clear on describing the roller coaster ride of Jewish faithfulness to the truth. I am not bringing into…[Read more]

If the Jews regarded the Book of Enoch as scripture they would be forced to acknowledge the new testament as well. It reveals the messiah so precisely that they could come to no other conclusion. So, of course, they don't recognize it and neither do they recognize Matthew – Revelation.
