Quote (JustAskin @ Jan. 26 2010,05:05)TT,So are you saying that Jesus died as Man But was alive as God? I'm still not sure you have answered the question?Jesus' spirit went back up to heaven but also went down to hell.Doesn't the rest of 1 Peter 3:18-20 say that it was the Spirit that made him alive and took him down to 'preach to the…[Read more]

JA,I need to know something. Do you adhere to the ancient Sadducee doctrine that the spirit of man died (or was annihilated)? The spirit went down to sheol to “sleep” or it went down “alive.” But it did not die. This is why the anti-trinitarian argument “God cannot die” is no good. God is spirit and no spirit can die, not even man's spirit. Jesus…[Read more]

Quote (JustAskin @ Jan. 26 2010,03:50)TT,oh, and can you reply very simply to these:Are the dead tormented?Do the dead feel pain? Can the dead Speak?Do the dead need food and drink?I think I have figured out what your problem is. You think of the dead in terms of bodies. Scratch that. It is the spirits of men that went down to sheol (hades)…[Read more]

Quote (JustAskin @ Jan. 26 2010,02:59)TT,Very Simply then? As what did Jesus die – God or Man?He was put to death in the flesh and in spirit went down to hades (sheol) ALIVE. He explicitly said that Jonah's being in the belly of the fish was a sign of His death. Jonah was in the belly of the fish ALIVE. This was likened to his being in…[Read more]

Quote (JustAskin @ Jan. 25 2010,01:35)oh and by the way, many bibles read John 2:22 as '…when he WAS raised from the dead…' which is in keeping with ALL other text that state that it was God Almighty that raised him from the dead.JA,First, the verb ἠγέρθη in John 2:22 is intransitive and may be translated as “he has risen” (active) or “he…[Read more]
