When reading the scriptures or learning something new I always like to remind myself of these verse`s
1 Cor 8:2
1 Cor 13:12March 30, 2013 at 2:09 pm#340124JeremyParticipantLightenup
I come on here and there is alot of clever people who can tell you what this greek word means or what somthing means in hebrew, I`m not one of those people, I`m not even that good at english and sometimes just to right a post can take a silly amount of time. However the bible tells me that truth is simple to understand. For me God made it simple, he called himself the Father and Jesus his son, what could be more simple than that.
To me its clear that Jesus has free will to choose to stay in the will of God or go against him, otherwise why would Satan have tried to tempt him. Now to me its our own free will that makes us all separate I carry the DNA of my dad and my mom but I am not them, I am my own person because I have my own free will.

When I came back to God after making it through my teen years I went to a few different church`s with poeple I met, but being raised as a JW ment that I had some very strong views on what was truth. As some of these views came apart I remember becoming very confused. Then one day I was using my nieghbours computer and was looking up about the JWs some of the things I read where untrue about thier teachings, but other things rang true, at this point I was so upset, I`d never felt so lost before in my life I felt despair just take over me. I went home to my flat and as I shut the front door behind me I cried out to God and just said, God you have to let me know which church is the right church…
As I said this I found my self stood in a barren wilderness, on the horizon in every direction there where thousands of mountains, then I saw straight paths going away from me in every direction then without a word being said I was told to look straight up, as I did this the vision went and straight away I knew what it meant.
I was in a wilderness all alone which was how I was feeling, the mountains where all the different churches in the world and then the paths where all straight paths which would have lead me straight to one of the church`s, but not one path was different to the other, but then I was told without a word being said look up you dont have to go down any path come straight to me.
Over time I have learnt not to look for the right church on earth because Jesus is the church, rather I look for people who are part of that church and when I do meet them i know because you can feel the presense of Jesus with us as we talk and I know then that they are my brother or sister and I feel a real love and belonging.
August 1, 2012 at 8:28 am#345476JeremyParticipantWhy would Satan want people to belive in 3 Gods as one?
Jehovah, Jesus and Satan.
Satan can't deny Gods position or the fact that through Jesus all things where made, but as far as I can tell he does want to be equal with them.
A lie is often more convincing when its based on a truth, which we know Satan does well,
4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Here Satan even plants the seed of desire to “be like God”
Just a theory.
God bless

July 25, 2012 at 2:50 pm#307072JeremyParticipantIt had been raining for days and days, and a terrible flood had come over the land. The waters rose so high that one man was forced to climb onto the roof of his house.
As the waters rose higher and higher, a man in a rowboat appeared, and told him to get in. “No,” replied the man on the roof. “I have faith in the Lord; the Lord will save me.” So the man in the rowboat went away. The man on the roof prayed for God to save him.
The waters rose higher and higher, and suddenly a speedboat appeared. “Climb in!” shouted a man in the boat. “No,” replied the man on the roof. “I have faith in the Lord; the Lord will save me.” So the man in the speedboat went away. The man on the roof prayed for God to save him.
The waters continued to rise. A helicopter appeared and over the loudspeaker, the pilot announced he would lower a rope to the man on the roof. “No,” replied the man on the roof. “I have faith in the Lord; the Lord will save me.” So the helicopter went away. The man on the roof prayed for God to save him.
The waters rose higher and higher, and eventually they rose so high that the man on the roof was washed away, and alas, the poor man drowned.
Upon arriving in heaven, the man marched straight over to God. “Heavenly Father,” he said, “I had faith in you, I prayed to you to save me, and yet you did nothing. Why?” God gave him a puzzled look, and replied “I sent you two boats and a helicopter, what more did you expect?”
July 25, 2012 at 2:46 pm#307070JeremyParticipantAfter getting all of Pope Benedict's luggage loaded into the limo, (and he doesn't travel light), the driver notices the Pope still standing on the curb.
“Excuse me, Your Holiness,” says the driver,” Would you please take your seat so we can leave?”
“Well, to tell you the truth,” says the Pope, “they never let me drive at the Vatican when I was a cardinal, and now that I'm Pope, I'd really like to drive today.”
“I'm sorry, Your Holiness, but I cannot let you do that. I'd lose my job! And what if something should happen?” protests the driver, wishing he'd never gone to work that morning.
“Who's going to tell? Besides, there might be something extra in it for you,” says the Pope with a smile.
Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport, the Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 105 mph.
“Please slow down, Your Holiness!” pleads the worried driver, but the Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens. “Oh, Dear God, I'm gonna lose my license — and my job!” moans the driver.
The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches, but the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on the radio. “I need to talk to the Chief,” he says to the dispatcher.
The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he's stopped a limo going a hundred and five.
“So bust him,” says the Chief.
“I don't think we want to do that, he's really big,” said the cop.
The Chief exclaimed,” All the more reason!”
“No, I mean really important,” said the cop with a bit of persistence.
The Chief then asked, “Who ya got there, the Mayor?”
Cop: “Bigger.”
Chief: ” The Governor?”
Cop: “Bigger.”
Chief: “The President?”
Cop: “Bigger.”
“Well,” said the Chief, “Who is it?”
Cop: “I think it's God!”
The Chief is stumped, ” You been drinking, John? “
Cop: ” No Sir.”
Chief : ” Then what makes you think it's God?”
Cop: “He's got the Pope as a chauffeur.”
July 25, 2012 at 1:30 pm#307060JeremyParticipantMaybe at this point we should consider why God has allowed for his name not to be shown in the NT or for it to be unclear.
1 Cor 11:18,19
1 Cor 13:1-10
Another thought is in 1 Corinthians 15:27,28
July 25, 2012 at 9:10 am#307055JeremyParticipantI would like it to stay on this thread if everyone is ok with that.
July 18, 2012 at 11:25 pm#306328JeremyParticipantIts strange I had the very same thought about the return of Jesus being mistaken for aliens. I was actually thinking of coming on here to start a thread about it, until i came across this. I only came across it because I put 'Jehovah' in the search.
It has made me think of when I applyed to join this site and it asked my why I wanted to join, I put down somthing like “Because i feel like there are true brothers and sisters on here” or somthing to that effect.
February 18, 2012 at 7:15 pm#279180JeremyParticipantNo not like that although I really like that scripture, its a good one to reflect on before praying.
I have my own belief about the trinity but, I prayed that I may have true understanding so that it would not become a stumbling block for me. I envisioned he would show me wether the trinity was true or not, however he showed me not to worry about it, for now at least.
February 18, 2012 at 6:15 pm#279173JeremyParticipantThe trinity issue is a big one and after reading many posts and writings about it, I prayed for understand about it. The answer I got was, I find it hard enough to understand the worldly matters of being a christian, so how much less am I going to understand heavenly things. Its funny God never seems to answer my prayers the way I think he will .
As for those that say Jesus didn't really die for us, I would say they are the antichrist and we are well warned about them.
February 18, 2012 at 5:40 pm#279170JeremyParticipantThey confess Jesus as christ and that he died that we have a chance of being saved.
February 18, 2012 at 4:41 pm#279167JeremyParticipantI have been to many church's, there all the same when you get to the centre of them and yet they all appear different.
