Quote (Laurel @ May 16 2010,15:36) Irene if i am stirring the pot it is because broth will only get you so far. The path is long and the gate is narrow and there are few who find it. You will need some meat and veggies for your journey. Is there any in this pot?
Maybe you need to understand what Jesus is saying. To all the nations, that includes us. You are so wrapped up in the Old Covenant that you don't see the New. Listen to Jesus. Not with a closed mind, but open. My Ancestors come from Germany, I was born in Germany and yours are from Europe. Unless you are an Indian…..They all come from one tribe…. Adam and Eve. You obviously cannot understand what is being said…. Where the Apostles not Jew's too. They all kept the New Covenant after Jesus introduced them to it. You have no leg to stand on… I agree that the path is narrow, Jesus magnified the Law and that is not easy. Just your thinking can get you in trouble. Now let me see. Do you keep the days of Unleavened Bread and better get some new dishes for that. And when you have your mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmwell better read up on what you are to do with the Old. That is why we have the New, because with keeping the Old Covenant Law no one will make it…I am sure you don't believe in grace either……That”s all my friend I hate to debate with someone that cannot understand the smallest statement Jesus made…..
go debate with Nick, He has more patience….. IreneMay 16, 2010 at 3:23 am#191124ElizabethParticipantQuote (Laurel @ May 16 2010,14:57) Quote (Elizabeth @ May 15 2010,08:47) Quote (Nick Hassan @ May 14 2010,13:51) Hi Irene,
Baptism is water baptism.
Baptism of another kind is specified.
The kind that you are talking about is what John did? Since Jesus we now get Baptized in the name of :” The Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Like I said in my previous post in Acts 2:38 it is twofold we are forgiven of our Sins and we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Again you did not give any Scripture, are you stiring the pot, like my Husbnd says???
Irene
Show me one single account of any person being baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Spirit.Only the name YAHUSHUA was necessary.
And yes, we are supposed to be mikvah'd in water first, it is all about repentance when we are baptized in water.
Laurel! Are Jesus words good enough for you??!!!!
Math. 28 :18 Then Jesus came and spoke to them saying:”A;; Authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on Earth.
verse 19 “Go therefore make disciples of all the nations baptizing them, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Or is Math. wrong too like you say about Luke……. have you been baptized yet…..

1 Standing on the promises of Christ my King;
Through eternal ages, let His praises sing;
Glory in the Highest, I will shout and sing.CHORUS
Standing, standing.standing on the promises of God my Savior.
Standing, standing, standing, on the promises, I'm standing on the promises of God.2 Standing on the promises that can never fail;
When the howling Storms of doubts and fear assail;
By the living Word of God I shall prevail;
Standing on the promises of God.Chorus

Perfect present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the Liberty where Christ makes free;
Standing in the promises of God.CHORUS

Oh, yes I have, AND IT IS NOT MY COVENANT, IT IS ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE WHICH YOU WANT TO DENY……when you do that you deny what Jesus is saying in Luke 22:20 I repeat:” ….”THIS IS THE NEW COVENANT IN MY BLOOD, WHICH IS SHED FOR YOU.
Jesus also magnified the Law and made it spiritual. You can not keep the Law or the Torah which are the five Books of the Old Testament. There is no way. You are denying Jesus dead and resurrection because you want to keep the Old Covenant listed in Exodus 34. And as far as the Sabbath is, we never were under that comment. It is a sign between the Children of Israel and God. Read it with an open mind. Exodus 31 :16-17.
Jesus gave us the Great Commandment in
Math. 22:37-40

What is a bottomless pit?
Is there such a thing as a bottomless pit?
If a pit had no bottom, would it not have to go clear through the earth? and would we not then call that a “tunnel”?So lets analyze Rev. 9:1. John saw something fall from heaven; was it a star? what was John supposed to think could fall from heaven?
When it hit the earth it produced a cloud of smoke; John compared it to a furnace knowing they make a lot of smoke because he said, “like a furnace”. The smoke was so great it darkened the sun, and the air. Then he said, “from the smoke came locusts”; the strange thing about these locusts was, they did not eat any vegetation, why? instead they hurt the people like scorpions, how could they do that?
Here is my explanation; The star was the Atomic bomb dropped over Japan, the smoke was the mushroom cloud, the locusts coming out of the cloud was the radioactive fall out, it did not hurt the vegetation, but it caused severe burns on people exposed to it. Japan was a none Christian country, did not have the seal of God in their forehead/mind.Now let me give you a scripture that completes this picture.
Rev 16:8 ¶ And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
Rev 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
When John was shown the explosion of the A-Bomb, not knowing what it was, seeing the bright flash, and people being burned by the heat, all he could do was compare it to the sun.
We sometimes use the expression, “where did he come from?”; you could also say instead of bottomless pit, “out of nowhere”. In reference to Rev. 17:8, it speaks of the establishment of the “League of Nation”, the seventh head, the attempt to create a “One World Government”, (the beast that was).

Answering one question from Nick, leads to a rebuttle of another question from nick which becomes the unending cycle of questions and more questions.
For those who call themselves anti-trins, do ya has a community i guess, accpet Nick arguements, or do ya enjoy
his riducule of other peoples ideas? Do you think its fair the way he argues, without expressing ideas to also argue back. Its like saying the sky is blue, and he answeres why? and i say because of this and that, and he says why? but? if?Do you see his points as a valid arguement?
Do you see him as part of the anti trinitarion view?Here is a small study on Nick
1) He will always say hi
2)He will than ask a question,
3) He will ignore arguements, and points that are directly at him, and pick and choose qoutes
4) He rarely expresses his ideas
5) when he does he never brings claims for his ideas
6) He claims that are those that are lost
7) but he doesnt care enough to show them the way to truth
8) He is willing to only take parts of scripture
9) He has never expressed a full idea in a thread
10) If he is right, does he care that he believes that im going to hell?I guess this goes back to my basic point, not that im condemning him in any way, I have much love for the brother,
but it makes me think, lets say im wrong, and im believed to go to hell,
Why doesnt Nick care? If he says that He loves God, and has a communion with God and the holy scriptures, why isnt he willing to come help me?
The reason there are debates here, because everyone is scared for there very soul, because if they are wrong about a truth that they held as the center of their life, than there is a chance of Hell.
And if everyone is right than that too is also wrong, because not all contradicting statments can be true,
What if everyone is wrong and only God is right, and we only believe in him, and we humble ourselves to His Truth.
Jesus said for us to denie ourselves, Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.follow Christ….
What do ya think,
With much love, i really hope im not insulting everyone.
I pray that God can help us all. Because he loves everysingle one of us.

People believe in what you call “different truth”, not that there are different truth, because they don't understand truth.Jhn 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

So how do you view the Division of the Chruch when concerning Truth?How do all christians claim to have truth when they are all divided?
is it different Gods, or bibles, or what?Why do we believe in different things?
And how do we solve for it?
This scripture tells you why we have so many denominations.1Jo 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

May 14, 2010 at 11:05 am#190968ElizabethParticipantIn the introduction to 1 Peter of my Bible it states that Peter lived the last decade of his life in Rome, and was martyred in about 67 AD.
Not until 533 AD was there an official “POPE”. It was Justinian who decided that “ONLY” the bishop of Rome should hold that title, and, that he should be the “head” over all the clergy.
To say, or claim, that Peter was the first pope is pure nonsense.Georg

Some speak of forgiveness as if it was magically given to all at Calvary.
'Be baptised in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sin..'
Nick! It would greatly help if you would give a Scripture when you make a statement. Baptism is two-fold for the forgiveness of Sins and we receive God's Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them:” Repent, and let every one of you be Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Even though I have read Acts before sometimes we forget and or we did not see what was written before. That has more then once happened to me. That shows us also that we all learn in different stages. But it always is helpful if you give Scriptures with your statements…..is it magical? No, but on the other hand, it is a gift from God…..

Nick! Our Sin's are forgiven because Christ died on the cross for us and took the death sentence away from us. For the forgiveness of our Sin's we need to ask God for. No Priest or no water will do so. Baptism is an outward sign that we are now burried with Christ…. and by laying on of hands we receive God's Holy Spirit. Now we can understand the things of God….. They had only had the baptism of John the Baptist. It is the baptism of the Spirit that counts , the baptism of Christ with Spirit and Fire. IMO Peace and love to you and Georg………………………….gene
They only were baptised with the Spirit because they were AT THE FEAST OF SHAVOUT, exactly where Yahshua Messiah told them to be. The right place at the right time, according to Torah!So take that Ha Satan!
Laurel! You are judging without a cause. The only judge is going to be God and not you or anyone else. If you want to go by the Old Covenant which is the Torah and more, then do so, but don't expect others to follow you when we have a much better understanding of the New Covenant. I know you want to do away with Luke and said that is not the New Covenant, but Luke was an eye Witness and it is Jesus saying what the New Covenant is. If you want to ignore that, that is up to you, but to judge us because we want to do the right thing, as far as I am concerned, is wrong…..Ha Satan is all around us and maybe you need to look in the mirror…..because if you judge so will God. Paul tells us so many things which you want to ignore….Join the Jews they believe the same thing. And make sure to keep the whole Law, all of it. The Arab, or Muslim nations, do persecute, and even kill Christians, today more so as perhaps in the past. But in order to identify who the Bible is speaking off, you have to see what is written in the bible.
Who in the Muslim world would you say fits this description?Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
It is this “little horn” (ruler), that would persecute the saints.
Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Dan 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
Who was this ruler that subdued three kings, and who were these three kings?
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Does this point to any Muslim ruler?
Not to be able to buy and sell is not what you think it is.Georg
May 12, 2010 at 12:54 pm#190551ElizabethParticipantNick! Why do you want to erase what Jesus said in
Math. 28. Is Peter more important then Jesus is? Not in my Book. To get the Holy Spirit a Minister has to lay Hands on you. The Apostles had been previously Baptized, but did not receive God's Holy Spirit at that time. Only after Pentecost did the Apostles receive the holy Spirit….
