Those married to the law died to that spouse (Rom. 7:1-3) so they could be married to a new spouse: Christ. The moral argument seeks to exploit the fact; If moral facts are a kind a command, the moral argument asks, then who commanded morality? And if God is the commander of morality should we not follow the morals he sets forth?

God has given people autonomy in a wide range of areas. We make choices every day about how to spend our time and money, whether to do right or wrong and even whether to follow God or not. God does not force us to do his will, for he wants us to choose to do what is right (2 Cor 9:7, 1 Jn 4:18).

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 19 2009,17:30)Hi, The worst part about moralism is the bad image it gives to the kingdom. God gives us joy and power and love for people so withdrawing from society and getting around looking miserable is never going to draw anyone to ChristI truly believe your confusing morals with something else.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 19 2009,17:25)Hi, So moralism concentrates on externals as if the works of men could ever please God. It takes salvation out of the picture and substitutes the thought that man can save himself by works.Paul was offended by the idolatry of Athens in acts 17 but he did not try to change the culture or the laws but did what…[Read more]
