What widely reported statements that a curtain was hung shortly thereafter do you refer to? I’ve never read or heard of any. What is your source for this?

Quote (Lightenup @ Oct. 16 2012,13:45)Andrew,I never saw the Nicene creed as making three Gods to be one. I don't think that the Nicene Creed specifically mentions that. I really don't see a difference between those Arian confessions and the Nicene creed. Why do you like the confession if it says that the Son was begotten before the ages? It…[Read more]

Quote (Lightenup @ Oct. 16 2012,12:17)Andrew, I agree with that confession.I actually like this confession too;better than Nicea since it doesn't create three Gods and try to make them be one. This confession is The Second Arian Confession (Antioch, 341 AD) In 341 A.D. two Arian Councils were held in Antioch, Palestine; ninety-seven Bishops…[Read more]

We believe, conformably to the evangelical and apostolical tradition, in one God, the father almighty, the framer, and maker, and provider of the universe, from whom are all things. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, his son, only-begotten god/deity , by whom are all things, who was begotten before all ages from the father, god from God , whole from…[Read more]

That's awesome-congratulations!-on thirty one years. Hope you had a great date! I was married for five years and have a thirteen year old daughter who lives with me.My ex-wife calls herself an atheist now and is basically anti-Christianity.But I still care for her and am praying for her.

Hi Kathy and thanks for your kind response,I appreciate you relating to where I am at in my theology at this point. As I related to you in one of my responses in the Divider of Christians thread I feel we see some things similarly to the which you responded that we”unfortunately don't”Perhaps I haven't or don't relate my thinking clearly and as…[Read more]

I can defend my positions rather well with scripture and I have but all you do is say i don't understand.I believe the words Jesus spoke were true and they don't contradict the OT or the rest of NT.I praise Jesus for setting me free from a religious spirit that you have. And btw to let you know I didn't accept everything T8 said in his article on…[Read more]

I observe Christmas,Easter and pass out candy, and carve a jack-o-lantern on Halloween too.I've been told that doing such on halloween makes me a devil worshiper since all these things can be traced back to the druids.I do understand that many of the church traditions and holidays are traced back to pagan holidays and Christianity adopted much…[Read more]

I like these words posted from the thread starter.I truly believe in grace and can only give all praise to God and Christ. If any man glory let him glory in the Lord!I learned of God's sovereignty and sovereign grace first from the Spirit as a new believer but rejected that too for freewill. It was years later I found there were others who once did…[Read more]

Lets just agree to disagree. If you don't like what I say you don't have to read it.You stand for the truth as you see it and so do I.Anything I say you will disagree and accuse me of not understanding so just don't read what I say.Count me a heretic if you wish.I can tell you how I believe in a literal Son of God but that will never be good enough…[Read more]

MikeQuote That, coupled with the fact that Jesus WASN'T slain from the foundation of the world, but was slain in 33 AD, leans me toward the translations I've quoted.
