Quote (katjo @ June 01 2010,12:10) jesus Christ is Lord, and the only name which you can be saved by; One Lord and the Lord is God. Acts 2 is referring to Jesus. Any one who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Matthew 7;20 when it says not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven is because of there wickedness. Read on down to verse 23. Acts 2;36 tells you He is Lord and Christ. Remember scripture says He came unto HIS OWN.(He became one of us) but did not sin? could not sin. He was teaching us how God is, and ascended back to were He was in the beginning. He is king of Kings and Lord of Lords. i didnt say His name was in the Old Testament but the O. Testament tells everything He will do and go threw before He even came to the earth.Hebrews tells us jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. John 9 is simply saying He is the light of the world, while He is here, but He promised when he ascended back to heaven, to send us a helper. the” Holy Spirit”
He is our light now.(Holy Spirit is also referred as He) katjo
Hi Katjo,The “HolySpirit” is referred to as He, because He is YHVH; not some third person!
Think about it! (Matt.1:18 / Matt.1:20 / Luke 1:35 / Hebrews 7:28)
Why do you hold (so tightly) onto 'the traditions of men'?117=יהוה האלהים “is the Light”=117! (1John 1:5)

And rereading the others. All through the writtings it repeats the crucifixion and death of Jesus the raising from the dead the naming of him as the only begotten Son of God,
The Quran doesnt say that but it says the complete opposite.
You need to choose one, either this or the Quran, because they dont agree.
You cant use them both. Because then you hold one as superior over the other and in your case its the Quran. They both say different things.
God doesnt change.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1 Corinthians 15:19-21Wasn't Lazarus raised from the dead before Christ? Wouldn't he be the firstfruit or even much longer before that when many others were raised from the dead including a man raised to life from the dead bones of Elisha.
Hi BD,Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Your old friend Ed J is back! And Rom.6:9 is the answer to your question! (Matt.7:7 / 2Tm.2:13)
Jesus Christ was raised as “The first fruits to “Our YHVH”=117″!As “God The Father”=117 raised up Jesus (in our behalf) as the first fruit(Gal.1:1);
so also will “Jesus Christ” raise us up in God's behalf! (John 6:54)
John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood,
hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. This will not be the case for you if you keep following the 'book of fraud',

Your pastor is your Shepard. He is to lead you. He will be judged more strictly for how he is teaching Gods word. God wants us to go to church and the bible tells us to listen to the elders of the church. Yes, you can study the bible on your own, and understand a lot of it, BUT someone who has been to school for it knows how to put the old and new testament together to start making sense. Our preacher has so much knowledge, and is so interesting, we could listen to him for hours. Its awesome! Anyway this will be long but is very interesting. I am going to respond to this but please understand I didn't say that there were no prophecies that pertain to Jesus in the OT I said that the name “Jesus” itself is not in the OT and most of the prophecies you are listing are in hindsight. Muslims also say that Muhammad is in the OT because it says that God will raise up another prophet like Moses which could not be Jesus. But anyway I will show you what I mean:
Micah 5:12 you meant Micah 5:2 which says
Micah 5:2 (King James Version)
2But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Now let's see:
Micah 5:4-6 (King James Version)
4And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
5And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
6And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
Do you see Jesus anywhere there? Did Jesus defeat the assyrians?
Now consider that David was also born in Bethleham
Isaiah 7:14
Isaiah 7:14 (King James Version)
14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
That was a perfect time to say and his name will be Jesus
Jeramiah 31:15
Jeremiah 31:15 (King James Version)
15Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
how is that a prophecy pertaining to Jesus?
Anyway I know that Jesus is Christ but the point is there are no direct statements in the OT that mention Jesus by Name nor any mention that God has an only begotten son. These are just the facts.
but you have even went further than that you have mustered up the belief that God is Jesus.
Jesus said:
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Jesus makes this profound statement that says God is One and he is another being and not God. If God is Jesus Christ as you say then you cannot know God and Jesus Christ, you could only know that God is Jesus Christ but Jesus says that you must know GOD and Jesus Christ.
So what are you going to do since you think they are the same?
John 17:2-4June 1, 2010 at 9:39 pm#193567karmarieParticipantBod, if I believed Jesus was God, it would be ok, God wouldnt mind so much. If I read the bible gained accurate knowledge came to know Jesus as my Lord then wandered off and found a new religeon decided Jesus was no son or anything and reject what I knew already, then if I persisted in that despite people trying to tell me otherwise, I have rejected the saviour the son of God.
How can you not see what is written,

Quote Bod, if I believed Jesus was God, it would be ok, God wouldnt mind so much. This is exactly why I get so harsh with you, you say things that are completely ungodly
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Romans 1:24-26This is what you have just taught as being okay.
This is the worst kind of ugly statement
Jesus would not agree with you at all

Sometimes you say things so evilYou say God doesn't care if you disregard His existence and instead just say he is Jesus and then if someone does go to Hell there will be no punishment or suffering because they simply won't exist.
Please don't teach any of these things if you care about who you speak to.
June 1, 2010 at 10:33 pm#193581karmarieParticipantBod, I have a friend who has suffered all her life, she believes Jesus is God and doesnt see things the way I do. All her life she has suffered but her faith in Jesus has kept her going strong. When she dies your saying she will then be tormented in hell forever as well? Who speaks evil?
The penalty of sin is death the gift of God is eternal life through his son Jesus you are choosing death eternal because you are rejecting the Son of God. Any punishment is Gods business vengeance is mine saith the Lord. But the Lord keepeth not his anger forever

Exodus 33:19 (King James Version)19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
It is not for me to say who will go to hell or to heaven but you teach falsely when you say it's okay to just believe anything about God
June 1, 2010 at 10:46 pm#193587karmarieParticipantPeople study the scruptures they turn to them they think Jesus is God they will not be turned away because God knows the intent of their heart the Father loves the Son. He has given all into his hands.
