More speculation, Nick? Show me what you claim using scripture.May 24, 2014 at 8:46 pm#383938NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
Should we wallow in the realms of speculation?
God's will is done.Do you know any who naturally had the Holy Spirit before God GAVE them the Spirit??
Please show this in scripture

Agreed, Wakeup.Jesus was the anointed of God at the time the words of Psalm 2:7 were spoken – which was way before Jesus emptied himself to be made in the likeness of a human being.
John 10
35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be set aside— 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? The words I underlined are the basic meaning of “anointed”. Jesus was “set apart” (anointed) by God BEFORE God sent him into the world.

Jesus became His spiritual son at the jordan
You can follow him
Pierre said it scripturally, and correctly Nick:“long ago before the event at the Jordan God at the plan to reconcile all things through Christ, even before he send his son down to be covered by flesh , is plan was set in motion”
Jesus was God's spiritual son before all of God's other spirit sons (the angels) were created THROUGH Jesus. Long before the heavens and earth, and everything in them were created THROUGH Jesus.
And long before Jesus emptied himself to be made in the likeness of a human being.
You only WANT to see half of the story, and therefore only SEE half of the story. I feel sorry for you, because you miss so much of what Jesus truly is, and what Jesus truly sacrificed for us.

Adam, any scripture that speaks about the CHRIST being born is speaking about God's ANOINTED ONE being born. Those scriptures never speak about the one WHO WILL SOMEDAY BE THE CHRIST being born.
He was the Christ (anointed one) before he was ever born on this earth.
So you are in error, because those scriptures DO INDEED speak about Jesus as God's anointed one – long BEFORE his baptism.
Quote (gadam123 @ May 24 2014,00:48) I don't see anything past or before creation of these things except in Epistles and John where his pre-existence mentioned indirectly which is being debated here in this forum.
It is not only John and Paul who speak about the pre-existence of Christ…….. but this is not the thread for it.May 24, 2014 at 9:14 pm#383961NickHassanParticipantHi MB,

You make your own meanings for anointing?
I thought you relied on scripture?
To anoint can simply mean to put oil on something. But in the Bible, the word anoint means to use oil to consecrate, set apart, or dedicate in service to our LORD, and is the outward form of the actual work of the Holy Spirit. The oil is symbolic of the presence and work of the Holy Spirit. From here.In the Bible, people were anointed by the application of special oil. Anointing was frequently used to set apart objects or people for special use. From here.
The anointing a person with oil is also a sign that God wants that person set apart. From here.
3239 Holy Spirit, anointing of
“Anoint” means to set someone apart, to authorise and equip him or her for a task of spiritual importance. Jesus Christ is set apart by the work of the Holy Spirit for his ministry of preaching, healing and deliverance. The Holy Spirit sets Christians apart for their ministry in Christ’s name. From
here. But let me ask you, what is
“the anointing”. We talk about it all the time. We desire it. We pray for it. But what is it exactly?
The most simple understanding of the anointing is to think of it as a “setting apart”. When God anoints something He sets it apart – it’s “holy” – separated for His use. From here.Strong's Lexicon says: a primitive root; to rub with oil, i.e. to anoint; by
implication, to consecrate;2 Thessalonians 2:13 NET ©
But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. Those who were baptized in Jesus' name and received the Holy Spirit were “anointed” by the Spirit, Nick. But they had already been CHOSEN (anointed) by God from the beginning. The literal anointing (pouring on of oil or Spirit) is symbolic of the actual act of being anointed (chosen and set apart as special/holy).

Yes, they were SYMBOLICALLY anointed by something later. But they were originally anointed (SET APART AS HOLY TO GOD) from the beginning.May 24, 2014 at 10:11 pm#383989NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
