I cannot track topics any longer. I have never been able to track the Trinity thread.
But now I can't track any topic. It used to be when I clicked on “track this topic” HN would send me an email when there was a new post in that thread.
That would happen for so long and then stop. I figured it expires after a certain amount of time which I understand, however when I try to click on track this topic again it still would not email me any longer, but simply say “I am already subscribed to that topic”.
Now I get no emails even on new subjects. I never got emails on the Trinity thread.
Can this be fixed, since it is hard to keep up with the many active threads especially the ones I want to track?
Thanks WJ

I changed my email address. Now it looks like I have lost my editing rights.
Is this supposed to happen?
Can I have it back?
Thanks WJ

t8Never mind. I see now I had to reactivate my account from my email.
Still have questions about the tracking of topics above.
Thanks Keith
August 19, 2008 at 9:38 am#102149AdminKeymasterI take it that you still cannot track any topics, so I will try the feature out for myself and see if it works for me.
I have never properly used that feature. I think I subscribed once and then got rid of it.
At a guess it could be that the email address you track a topic with is the one that you need to stop the tracking with.
You could temporarily change it to the old one to unsubscribe perhaps. It may be possible that you have changed your email address a number of times and in that case you would lose any emails sent out to these older ones. Although you would think that changing your email address shouldn't make any difference, I am thinking that it might.
But if you cannot track any topic now, then that would suggest that your email address isn't typed in correctly or the feature just doesn't work. I will test to see if it works.
August 19, 2008 at 9:48 am#102151ProclaimerParticipantOK, I am in T8 mode because I am testing out the tracking feature as a member and not the Admin.
I haven't subscribed to a topic yet, but I noticed 2 things that could be your problem.
In your Control Panel under “Email Settings” there are 2 features that you can customize.
1) Receive only one notification of a new post between visits to the subscribed topic? This feature can be turned off or on.
2) Number of days a topic subscription lasts. My one was set to 30 days which may be the default. After 30 days I should be automatically unsubscribed and therefore should be able to subscribe again. You could set this to say 365 and get one years worth. Not sure if any of these features fixes your problem though.
August 20, 2008 at 9:13 am#102323ProclaimerParticipantI subscribed to the Trinity Doctrine discussion yesterday and I got notification of 2 replies to that discussion when I checked my emails just now, so it is obviously working.
I am thinking now that maybe your email service is marking it as spam. If so, you will need to remove that rule.
If you are using Gmail, then go into the spam folder and see if there are any Heaven Net emails and if so, select the email and click “not spam”. There maybe a similar facility for Hotmail or other webmail service providers.
If you are using a pop3 client like Thunderbird or Outlook, you may want to check with your Network Administrator or your firewall software to make sure that they are not blocking the heaven.net.nz domain.
If that isn't the problem, then let me know and I will look into it further.
