Quote (Gene @ June 27 2009,02:34) Irene…….. Firstborn, does not mean first (created). Jesus was firstborn Human being to recieve eternal life, and as a result he holds the firstborn status of all of man kind. Why do you choose to not believe scriptures that clearly say the LORD GOD Created everything (ALONE) and BY HIMSELF> SO even through you don't believe Jesus is GOD, you do give him the status of the creator of everything even through the LORD GOD said He by himself did IT. Interesting . Irene we are told to come out of these false teachings of the Apostate Churches. Here are just a few we should come out of IMO .
the doctrine of the Trinitythe doctrine of preexistence of Jesus
the doctrines of devil and demonsthe doctrines of Easter
the doctrine of Christmas
the teaching of sunday as the day of worship
the teaching of tithing as a requirement of the Church
there are many more that we should come out of in order to clear our minds and see correctly. IMO
peace and love to you and Georg………………………………gene
Did you leave out the doctrine of Oneness or do you believe in that? I personally think it too belongs on this list. I came out of that mess and I think it is as dangerous as the Trinity Doctrine. Both try to force Jesus into their own box. Jesus is the Son of God. It is worth saying again. Jesus is the Son of God. God is the Heavenly Father.August 27, 2009 at 4:40 am#142578GeneBalthropParticipanteveh………Not sure what that teaching even is, Maybe you could explain to to Us. Thanks

August 28, 2009 at 2:34 am#142759GeneBalthropParticipantR……….If you care to look up the definition of (BECAME) you will find it means came to be in, GOD was IN Jesus , not that Jesus was GOD or HIS word. Jesus plainly said the words He spoke were (NOT) His words but hte words of the one who sent Him. The problem here is you taking scripture out of context and eliminating many scriptures that prove what you are saying is wrong, Remember it say the SUM of GOD'S words are truth. IN JH 1:1 the word Jesus is not even in the sentence so why try to make it be there. It is referring to God Himself who created all things by Himself alone and alone, as scripture plainly says in many places.

It is the doctrine of the United Pentecostal Church for one. They have more truth than the trinity people but they still believe that Jesus is God. They don't separate him into three but they do say he was fully God and fully man. However they do believe in Jesus name baptism, immersed in water fully, and the receiving of the Holy Ghost with speaking in tongues. These things I believe also. But I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and God is the Heavenly Father.

Titus 1:1 Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, 3 but has in due time manifested His word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior;
Hebrews 1:1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
Joh 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent
YHWH had given a promise, this promise was in the beginning with Him, this promise was Eternal Life, and eternal life is WITH God and it IS God.
The Promise became Flesh, the promise from the beginning of eternal life became fulfilled by YHWH through Jesus Christ!
According to the plan of the Father,
Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Titus 3:4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
Don’t get your him’s mixed up,
1Jo 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
Joh 17:3 (yes again!) And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent
Clearly 1 John 5:20 should be understood like this,
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know the Father who is true, and we are in the Father who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God (the Father) and eternal life.1Co 8:6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.
Eternal Life is the gift of the Father, it comes from the Father through His planning and work in Jesus Christ.
Ro 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you
1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
In the beginning was a promise by YHWH for eternal life, this was taught and believed by the fathers. Abraham and David both rejoiced knowing the promise would be fulfilled through a MAN, according to their seed.
Galatians 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Luke 1:67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, 68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, 69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; 70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: 71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; 73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. 80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
Ephesians 3:8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Acts 4:27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.
Ga 3:17 And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.
2Ti 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
Acts 2:30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his th
rone, 31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: 'The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, 35 Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ' 36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”The WORD in the Old Testament was clearly said to come from YHWH NOT a pre-existent Jesus. Jesus was clearly shown not to exist before being born of Mary, he was a PLAN to come, he was a PROMISE to come. YHWH SPOKE to the forefathers and what He spoke was the gospel, eternal life that would come through the seed of David. Jesus is the WORD of God that existed before as a promise, made flesh, meaning Jesus was the fulfillment of the promise.
Please think about all of this. Jesus is the fulfillment of a promise YHWH made before creation. Believing in Jesus MEANS you believe IN THE FATHER. We know that the FATHER IS TRUE because the Father kept HIS PROMISE!! Jesus is HOW we know the Father is TRUE. If we believe Jesus is indeed the Messiah, not the one true God, but the human being of the seed of David, then we are confirming our Faith in YHWH.
Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: 15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. 16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
We have assurance of eternal life, through having Faith in YHWH!
August 28, 2009 at 4:36 pm#142838GeneBalthropParticipanteveh……….we are told by Jesus that God is a Spirit, none can see spirit, as Jesus also said, its like the wind we see the effects but cant see it. John said “no one can see GOD” . We are also told there are seven Spirits of GOD in revelations. To me it like we can say there is seven bullets in one gun. The seven Spirits of GOD represent One GOD. and these are now in Jesus as He is pictured in Rev. as a (SLAIN) Lamb (as the only one who put his complete will to death) He now exists with the Seven eyes on Seven Horn, the seven eyes are the seven Spirits of GOD that go to and fro through out the whole earth, and the seven Horn connected with them show that the seven eyes (Spirits) are connected with POWER. This is His present position as shown in revelations.
All life consists of intellect or SPIRIT , and without SPIRIT INTELLECT no LIFE exists. GOD lives vicariously (IN) His creation. He is (NOT) a PERSON He is PURE SPIRIT INTELLECT or THOUGHT, remove your thoughts you cease to exist, therefore when a man dies he cease to exist. AS it says when a man dies his thought PARISH. He ceases to exist, and will remain that way for ever unless a Body is made and Spirit is added back into it. That is why every Hair on our heads are numbered, it is required to reconstruct our bodies. No matter what form that may be.
Jesus said, don't fear him who can destory the body and after that do nothing else , but fear Him who can destory (BOTH) Body and SOUL in Hell (grave) . A Soul is a Body with SPIRIT in it, we do not exist without a body to animate. Spirit + Body= SOUL. Therefor says GOD a BODY (I) have prepared for you. GOD or Elohim is a UNIT consisting of SEVEN SPIRITS with POWERS. the Word Elohim is a uni-plural word One unit consisting of Seven individual SPIRITS with power. That is why in Genesis it say “LET US CREATE MAN”> IMO

So if eternal life was in the beginning, and it was with God, and eternal life IS god?And eternal life is found through receiving Jesus.
Then receiving Jesus would mean that you are recieving eternal life?
So we can conclude that Jesus is eternal life?
If Jesus is eternal life, and we find that eternal life IS GOD, then we can also conclude that Jesus is God.
And since GOD is a title like Cindy likes to think, or Jodi Lee…one of them….I dunno
Then it is ok, just like it was ok for apostles to call Jesus God.
So why do you all get upset when we call Jesus God?
Against your own logic, you prove that Jesus is God.
the life was manifested[/b], and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us
It was manifested to us as Jesus Christ who preached the baptism, repentance of his sins, death on the cross, and ressurection unto Heaven.
This is the same process we are to follow to gain eternal life.
Be baptised, repent of our sins, die physically on the cross, and ressurect spiritually unto Heaven.
When i say die physically, I mean die in our sins to where we no longer indulge and live a life of sin. Then live spiritually seeking the things of God alone.
If Jesus is eternal life, and eternal life is God, Jesus therefore is God.
He cannot be a seperate God from the ONE TRUE GOD…so he must be the SAME God.
If he is the Same God, that doesn't mean HE IS God The Father….but it CAN mean he is God The Son.
Which is the eternal life of God.
according to your own logic.

GOD THE SON is of man not scripture.Show God teaching He is a trinity and we will be all ears.
Otherwise you work is just in support of rebellious men.August 28, 2009 at 8:52 pm#142864Jodi LeeParticipantDude, I am having a hard time with your thinking.
Ro 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
RokkaMan, Jesus the MAN, is PROOF of what YHWH can do for MAN. YHWH gave Jesus the full measure of His Spirit and it produced a perfect man. Jesus is the EXAMPLE of what YHWH could do for ANY man. Jesus is the example of HOW eternal salvation works in man. Having faith in Jesus means that you believe in what YHWH accomplished in a man.
We are all IN Christ, because we are ALL just like he was, and if YHWH can do what He did for Jesus He can do it for anyone. This is WHY we are ALL raised from the dead, because YHWH is going to do for us the same work that He did for Jesus.
I don't see how I showed that Jesus is God, I am baffled. YHWH is ONE person who is God, He exists with Powers, and He used those powers to make a man righteous and perfect in His sight.
In the beginning was the promise of eternal salvation, this promise would begin with one MAN Jesus, and would come through him, because he represents what YHWH can do for ALL men.
As the scripture I posted shows, when we receive eternal life it is NOT by the power’s of Jesus, it comes BY the power of YHWH, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. The role that Jesus plays is that he represents the PROOF and the REASON why YHWH would raise us from the dead, which is because He knows what He can accomplish in man through the power of His Spirit.
Are you following me here RokkaMan? Please think on these things, always remembering that Jesus is the man, born of the seed of David.
August 28, 2009 at 9:48 pm#142867NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
There are two resurrections.
The first is for the sons of God into the millenial kingdom.
The second is for those outside of Christ who hope for the mercy of God.That mercy is specified to some only in Mt25.
Only those who share the Spirit of Christ are in him and the rest are none of his[ rom8]
They are raised by that Spirit abiding within, that also raised the firstborn of the dead, into the kingdom.

Exactly, Praise YHWH for what He has done in Jesus Christ, and thus what He will do for ALL men!! This praise, which should be the focal point of our worship and honor, others DESTROY when they make Jesus out to be the one true God. They do NOT know the SON, and therefore they know not the Father as well.

They neither have the SON nor the FATHER . They worship Jesus , but not who Jesus worshiped, they pray to Jesus but not who Jesus prayed to, they are stooped in pagan teachings and traditions. blind guides leading the blind. IMO
peace and love to you and yours………………………..gene
