Hi JN,
That verse is a poor foundation having been added by men.July 24, 2009 at 5:46 am#138682kerwinParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 23 2009,17:19) Hi KW,
Are you saying that the God of creation could not do what scripture says He did through His Spirit?
Should we limit our expectations of God's abilities to what you are comfortable with??
God does not do evil. What you are declaring is God is a God of contradictions and that is not so. It is like asking God to create a rock he cannot lift. He will not do it because it is contradictory to his nature.Do you believe scripture when it states that Jesus is the Spiritual Son of God and the physical Son of David?
July 24, 2009 at 6:36 am#138684NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
So your judge of contradictions is your intellect?
Must scripture be filtered through you?July 24, 2009 at 3:31 pm#138719GeneBalthropParticipantJC…………….lets not forget the rest of the verse, and these three agree (IN) ONE. Because they are one and the same, Where do you see Jesus mentioned there. Word is (NOT) a Person it is the expression of INTELLECT OR SPIRIT OF THE ONE GOD.

Do you realize how absurd that statement sounds? A contradiction is a contradiction because the premises disagree with the conclusion. For example 1+2 = 7 because 1 + 2 does not equal 7. In your case you are declaring that God, whom has no physical form, fathered a Son according to that non-existent physical form. How do you create a something that is non-existent as once something is made it is existence? There is simply no physical pattern for Jesus to be fathered after.
You are also contradict scripture which attests that as for his physical form Jesus is the Son of David. God is Spirit and his children are thus the children of his Spirit.

Ecclesiastics 7:29(KJV) reads:Quote Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

Hi KW,
So God cannot do what seems illogical to you?
How about creation from nothing?July 26, 2009 at 3:05 pm#138943kerwinParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 26 2009,03:42) Quote (kerwin @ July 25 2009,08:02) Nick Hassan wrote: Quote So your judge of contradictions is your intellect?

Hi KW,

How about creation from nothing?
Why do you think making something from nothing is illogical? Is it illogical to make a cake?
If so then why?
In the same way it is logical to make something from nothing for the one that knows how and has the power to do so.
But you are not speaking of making something of nothing but of Jesus being the child of God's physical form when God has no physical form.
God can of course make himself a physical form as long as doing so would not be evil.
In addition scripture clearly states that Jesus is the Son of David.

Either you rely on the wisdom of God or your own.
Which is more reliable?July 27, 2009 at 2:12 pm#139070kerwinParticipantQuote (Jesus name follower of Christ @ July 27 2009,03:27) son of david yes but also son of God
If you are stating that Jesus is the physical Son of David and the spiritual Son of God then I agree. If you are stating that Jesus is the physical Son of David and of God then I disagree as God is not a descendant of David and David is no more of a descendant of God that the rest of mankind is.

It seems that you believe that your wisdom is. Save yourself and believe what God states instead of the teachings of men.July 27, 2009 at 7:02 pm#139149NickHassanParticipantHi KW,

Prov 3
What I state comes from scripture and what you state does not. It is simply not there.Romans 1:3-4(KJV) reads:
Quote Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Why does this scripture say Jesus is the seed of David?
Why does this scripture say Jesus is the Son of God?
Mark 14:36(KJV) reads:
Quote And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
Romans 8:15(KJV) reads:
Quote For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Galatians 4:6(KJV) reads:
Quote And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Of course who are you to believe what God states or to use the mind he gave you? (sarcasm intended)

Why are you afraid to answer the questions I asked? Why are you afraid to use the mind God gave you?
If God asked you what 1+1 is could you answer?
I ask because he tests you in many ways in order to fulfill his purpose for you.
Believe all that God states.
One last question. What does God want out of his people?

In what way is the mind of any man equipped to test and reject the words of God?
