Quote (Not3in1 @ June 01 2008,03:28) Quote (t8 @ May 31 2008,20:18) Just a general question not aimed at anyone. If partaking of flesh (human nature) makes you human, then what does partaking in divine nature make you?
Adam says that partaking in divine nature makes us sons of God and he would be right, imo.In Romans we are told that even Israel receives an adoption as sons of God. Israel is God's own people, yet they will be *adopted*.
There still remains a difference between the sonship of Jesus and the sonship of those of us who are (or will be) adopted. It is to this difference that I keep pointing and to which other's seem to ignore or not see?
We can only participate in divine nature because God has “qualified” us to do so. So simply partaking of divine nature doesn't “make us” anything. It's just a fabulous opportunity we have to see what our future potential will be. If we are indeed born again, we will see God and we will be like him. We will come full-circle and be the son's and daughter's he had always intended for us to be.
Here's a question along the same lines: Is Jesus still human in heaven even though he has been glorified with divine nature?
Hi not3,
When you are given a heavenly body you become like to the angels but not one of them. We are reborn into the Son of man.
Heb2
Hebrews 2:6
But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?June 1, 2008 at 12:38 am#90384Not3in1ParticipantSure, Nick, sounds good. What we are to be is a mystery. You're guess is as good as mine. A new body sounds wonderful though as I am struggling with arthritis at a very young age!
My point was that Jesus is both man and divine. We will follow because we have been qualified to do so from the new creation we will be like….. We follow the firstborn.
June 1, 2008 at 3:40 am#90405gollamudiParticipantHi Mandy.
You are right, the future experience in glory with Jesus our elder brother will be wonderful in deed even John confirms this in his Epistle (1Jn 3:1-3).
I will pray for your physical weakness. God is able to heal you.
Peace to you
AdamJune 1, 2008 at 10:49 am#90441ProclaimerParticipantIf we get wings, I would probably go a bit crazy with flying till the novelty wore off. Or maybe we will just be able to go from A to B at the speed of thought. God knows, but I know that what he has waiting for us is beyond anything we can imagine and that he is good.
June 1, 2008 at 11:05 am#90443gollamudiParticipantThat's wonderful my brother T8,
We all cherish that.
Thanks
AdamJune 15, 2008 at 10:44 pm#92919NickHassanParticipantHi,
The book of Acts is an essential part of the truth.
It shows the teachings of Jesus put into action by those who heard him firsthand.
Nothing has changed since Jesus taught them and it should be for us a guidebook in following the ways of Jesus.June 16, 2008 at 3:44 am#92946gollamudiParticipantInfact the whole Bible.
June 16, 2008 at 3:51 am#92949GeneBalthropParticipantGollamudi….right the whole bible is what gives us the right understand not just one book , we are told the (SUM) of Gods it truth. You can't just take one or two scriptures and always think you have it, it the Sum and with a good mind of the Spirit you can easily put it together.
Love and peace to you and yours…………..gene
June 16, 2008 at 4:08 am#92952NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
But it is all true?
It is all useful for teaching?June 16, 2008 at 4:42 am#92957GeneBalthropParticipantNick…….it is to me i am sorry if it isn't to you. There are about a thousand quotations form the OT in the NT including the Book of Acts. I believe the whole Bible is good for teaching and edification in the things of God. I do believe it is all true it might not be understood in places and ther are translation errors in bothe the OT and NT, but if you study it all you will get a good understanding of God's words.
IMO………..gene
June 16, 2008 at 4:48 am#92959NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
I agree.
Including ActsJune 16, 2008 at 4:52 am#92964Not3in1ParticipantSomeone told me that you can always tell a person's favorite books of the bible if you look at the gilded edges – there will be more smudge marks by certain books.
One of the books where this is evident on my bible is Acts. Of course my “gilded” (if I'm spelling that right) edges have long wore off. I bought my bible when I was 15 with babysitting money. It's falling apart. I guess that is good, huh?
June 16, 2008 at 7:25 am#92992gollamudiParticipantThat's amazing Mandy,
You still keep the first Bible with you. What a sweet memory to read reread the revelations God has given to you in your life history.
Love to you
AdamJune 16, 2008 at 7:36 am#92995Not3in1ParticipantThis bible is nearing the end of it's useful life. It's literally crumbling…. But it's my daily bible. I know where everything is just by where it is located on the page! It has been my most prized possession. I have always thought that if there was a fire, I wouldn't grab for pictures or anything else but my bible.
I've questioned the bible here recently. I'm a little more educated on it's flaws and errors, however I'm still in-love with God's written Word. Even though it is flawed, God has spoken to me so much through it that I cannot deny it.
June 16, 2008 at 9:38 am#92999gollamudiParticipantHi Mandy,
I know you can not do that. God's word is some thing unique in this world it is live word or living word that speaks to us whenever we are in distress and dismay. Many times God spoke to me like that. I used to have my Telugu Bible in my regional language during my early Christian life. But now I have the NASV which was presented by by my wife Anu on our Wedding Day. I love it very much. Thanks for some personal talk.
Love to you
AdamJuly 1, 2008 at 4:29 pm#9538597407ParticipantHi 3in1
Could you please expand on what you see as the bibles “flaws and errors”.
Thanks
July 5, 2008 at 10:54 am#95914NickHassanParticipantHi,
Jesus is the Truth.
He is the living breathing Word.

Hi GM,
Not me but another poster said he was.
From ignorance I think as the Word is also the Truth. - AuthorPosts
