you got it wrong ;Jesus stated only two commandments and said that those two were the foundation of them all ;and so ALL SINS ARE INCLUDED IN THOSE TWO ;EITHER YOU BREAK UP THE ONE OF GOD OR YOU BREAK THE ONE THAT DEALS WITH OUR FELLOW MAN

I am referring to another passage than the one that you mention but the two are not in disagreement.  We are also told that if you love God then you will do as he commands.  Both commands mean the same thing.  Galatians 5:14 is my reference passage.

To all……..No one can turn on love or turn it off, you either have it or not, for it is the love OF GOD THAT IS SHED AROUND IN OUR HEARTS, THAT MAKE us loving people, the flesh add nothing, it is of the spirit. IMO

PEACE and love to you all and yours ……………….gene

    miia,

The Ten Commandments are a small part of the Law of Moses.  The first five books of the Bible contain the whole law.  The children of Israel were instructed to obey the whole Law in Deuteronomy.  A person who picks ten commandments out of all those commandments and chooses to follow just them is a Lawbreaker.

Human effort is all that the children were given to obey the Law.  The Covenant of Mt. Sinai is the wineskin and human effort is the wine that is in that wineskin.

Spiritual effort is available to the children of Jesus Christ.  The Covenant of the Christ is also a wineskin and spiritual effort is the wine that is in that wineskin.

See Jesus’ words in Mark 2:22 and other places about not putting new wine into old wine skins.

Gal 5:14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

this is correct but we would miss the Love for God ;so i think that paul was merely talking about us as humans and behavior toward each other ,for the law was made for that purpose ,

but the reason to obey it come to God in our love for him

    Hi t,

If your ideas are God given that puts you on a pretty high pedestal does it not?

    hi Nick

    Hi t,

If your ideas are God given that puts you on a pretty high pedestal does it not?

not really ,for i am not a exception any one can have the gift ,just believe the truth in scriptures and walk with it ,that is what scriptures are saying ,

but at the same time make sure you are staying in the truth as you walk as scriptures says ,

this is our great tribulation ; not easy but with God not impossible

    T,

The point I am making is in 2 John 1:6.

2Jn 1:2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:

2Jn 1:3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.

2Jn 1:4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
2Jn 1:5 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
2Jn 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
2Jn 1:7 Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
2Jn 1:8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.

    I see and understand that by taking that verse away from the context it also change the meaning of it ;for the key IS WALKING IN THE TRUTH ;just has jesus told us in scriptures ;

Jn 3:20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Jn 3:21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

for if we walk in the truth then we walk with God for God is the source of the truth

    Hi t,

    Logic does not match scripture.

Natural man walks in his own light and does not know God’s opinion of his way.

    Nick,

I do not see it that way as it essentially means the power of the Spirit.  You require faith to use it.

    Nick,

Logic is a tool that most people fail to understand correctly.  Jesus used it correctly.

    Hi t,

    Logic does not match scripture.

Natural man walks in his own light and does not know God’s opinion of his way.

your logic seem not based on scriptures ,you should change it ,you are still walking in the flesh and believe that you walk in the spirit ,many do walk in this way ,religion as blind them ,

follow and believe only the scriptures for that is the light and the way ; but like pharisees this is hard to do , but we all know not many come and chose to give up all they have to follow Christ ,and his father ,it is hard NOT to be part of this world for many ,just as Christ said it ,

but this is our individual choice ,

To all……Mic 6:8……He has shown you O man what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and walk humbly with your God?

GRACE is ….UNMERITED pardon And favor shown us by GOD THE FATHER,

Rom 9:15-16…..For he says to MOSES, i will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that “WILLS”, nor of him that “RUNS”, but “OF” God that shows mercy.

peace and love to you and yours. ……………….gene
