Hi,
Matt 23
8″But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. It seems that few now listen to the Master and claim him as their teacher. Some say his teachings are not for us and others say they know more than him. Some put his teachings alongsode those of scientists.
Repent and turn again to the Teacher.

So Jesus is not your teacher?
Who is?November 20, 2008 at 1:33 am#112222chosenoneParticipantI'm not a Jew.
November 20, 2008 at 1:35 am#112225NickHassanParticipantCO,
Suit yourself but there are no others above our teacher.November 20, 2008 at 1:40 am#112230chosenoneParticipantYou must be a Jew?
November 20, 2008 at 1:44 am#112232NickHassanParticipantCO,
Are you not yet grafted into the true olive?
But there is no longer Jew or gentile if you are in Christ. All men are not in christ.
Have you been clothed with him yet?November 20, 2008 at 2:02 am#112233NickHassanParticipantCO,
Jesus said this to the Jews.
Jn14
26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.Does this wonderful gift not belong to gentiles like you?
November 20, 2008 at 2:18 am#112234NickHassanParticipantCO,
Jesus said this to the Jews.
Jn141Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Do you not have a place waiting for you?
February 8, 2009 at 4:08 am#120720NickHassanParticipantHi,
The Lordship of Jesus is shown by the adherence of his followers to his teachings.
He taught the words of God.February 8, 2009 at 5:39 am#120729Not3in1ParticipantHi Nick,
I disagree. Jesus was Lord at his birth, it had nothing to do with his teachings. It had nothing to do with his popularity.
There are many teacher's today who have an avid following, does this prove that they are “Lords”?
Instead, I think the Lordship of Jesus is shown by the fact that he died and rose again. Because plenty of people doubted him when he was alive one earth: John and Peter to name a couple.
February 8, 2009 at 5:46 am#120733NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
Jesus drew a closer connectionLk6
46And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?47Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
February 8, 2009 at 5:52 am#120737Not3in1ParticipantJesus is the great Teacher, of course.
But his Lordship was in place before he was even able to talk….Adherence to his teachings brings blessings (and more stable dwellings) of course.
February 8, 2009 at 6:21 am#120743NickHassanParticipantHi not3
John 13:13
“You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am.Matthew 23:8
“But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers.February 8, 2009 at 6:24 am#120744Not3in1ParticipantYes, we are not all called to teach. We were not all called to be the begotten of God.
But this seems to be a different issue.
Jesus is our brother. Scriptures can be quoted where he is saying, “My Father, and your Father….”. We are family.
February 8, 2009 at 6:38 am#120749NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
Jesus is not respected as the Lord and the head of the church.
Jude 1:4
For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.February 8, 2009 at 7:53 am#120751Not3in1ParticipantOur Master, our teacher, our Lord, and our brother. Such a great plan!
February 8, 2009 at 8:06 am#120756NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
We were warned
2 Peter 2:1
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.Matthew 10:33
“But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.2 Timothy 2:11-13
11It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:12If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
February 8, 2009 at 8:30 pm#120824NickHassanParticipantGB,
Jesus said
Luke 6:40
” A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.”But you said in another thread
“Who saying were (GREATER) It;s enough that the Pupil is (EXACTLY) the same as the master. NICK are you worshiping Jesus as a GOD?”
We prefer the Teacher's words
February 8, 2009 at 8:36 pm#120826GeneBalthropParticipantNick……quite playing games , you full well know its the same thing , a teacher is also called a master. This is just another ploy to divert from the subject matter. The principle is still the same. Instead of admitting you wrong you had rather play word games.
peace and love………………………………gene
