The Internet: Positive Tool for Christians But Full of Dangers

There are many pitfalls on the Internet, to be found in the Christian world. The enemy knows the Internet is a place to lead unsaved people into false religions, cults, Internet pornography, violent shows, rock music, and all the other wickedness that exists in the world. But it goes deeper then this, Christian message boards and websites are not immune to the wiles of the devil or his workers.
One thing happening on message boards on the Internet, is while there are many folks who are sincerely wrong who are honest and while we may disagree with them with normal human disagreement even if strife results–which the Christian is told to depart from after the gospel is rejected-Matt 10:14 , the conversation is real and “honest”. Realize even among this crowd there are many in the Laodicean church who say they are Christians but are not! There are many others, where the conversation is not honest, and there are things happening on the Internet [only the naive would admit this could never happen] where people are saying they are Christians when they are not. Some are knowing occultists, some are fallen away or backslidden Christians who have come under the spell of a false teacher, and others are cultists who wish to bring in new members.
As for knowing occultists who “play Christian” on line, without fail the majority of these folks all match on the same messages, telling Christians to compromise, praising blind obedience to authority, praising the New Age, occult, Halloween, telling Christians there is nothing wrong with the ecumenical movement, denying Bible prophecy, praising corrupt politicians and the new world order and presenting the Catholic/Mormon/Jehovah Witness church as fellow Christian churches. Here too remember even among the sincere, Bible Christianity remains unpopular and many do reject the gospel and other biblical warnings being products of today’s fallen away churches.
One day years ago, I discovered on one Christian message board, that one poster who told everyone she was a Catholic, was actually a Satanist and had a message board and regular website of articles to that affect telling of her rituals and graphics with dripping blood. In this case I was able to directly expose the deceit, given she used the same name in various places. She repeated some of the same messages above; especially a strong sell for Catholicism. I have seen that same person still remaining on Catholic and Christian message boards, years later with no problem.
Watching people who will twist things online, use repetition, quote a statement and then reverse the meaning of it, use any number of diversionary techniques–asking nonsense questions on threads, using casuistry better then the most trained Jesuit, contradicting long held and stated previous beliefs using bait and switch techniques told me that there is something very insidious going on. Christians have had people befriend them online, and start using those techniques, once the targeted Christian rejects the promoted teachers or beliefs they are trying to sell. Now even sincere friends can have a disagreement, but the true test of a true friend is if they really care about you, ill treatment will not come forth based on sincere religious beliefs. There is no excuse for abuse, the sincere Christian will talk things out in an honest fashion and pray for you. So take a second look at those who claim to be friends but then desire to use such techniques to get you or others back in line or refuse honest and sincere conversation. [These same things would apply in a church as well]. There is a reason some people come out of bad churches talking about spiritual abuse and same as it exists in the real world, it exists online.
Some deceivers or deceived online will actually preach truth about ONE matter, but then introduce new lies, or deceptions. There are many websites, that will “expose the Catholic church”, “warn about the New Age” but then introduce new lies and deceit from other directions. New believers can be very vulnerable as they leave a false church, say in the case of the Roman Catholic church if they do not stay in prayer and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit about all teachers. Realize Satan has set up many ditches, a person can get out of one, just to fall in another.
The Internet can be a dangerous place for the Christian who is unseasoned and who lets the strife lead them down bad roads to sin. As Christians we are told in Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. While following the verses not to throw pearls before swine, or allow ourselves to be trampled [Matt 7:6], keeping a balance for standing for truth online among all the wicked game-playing, can take a lot of prayer. Love your enemies: coming out of what I did, I pray for those who are deceived or deceiving, to repent and come to Jesus Christ, and realize the errors of their ways. Pray for discernment and where your preaching the gospel or exposing the works of darkness will be the most fruitful. Realize the fruit of the Spirit in dealing with the Internet world.
Do not follow the examples of the “Mean Christians”. Even recently while I still want to warn people and preach the gospel in various places online, avoiding the deceit, strife, mean spirit and closure to Bible truth in so many places is something I have to keep in prayer about even in regards to my own sins. Holding to a biblical line amidst the mud-throwing and deceit sometimes can be a difficult job for any Christian. Having warned against the one world religion and ecumenical movement, for years online, I have seen all the ways, folks seek to avert this message. Christians can still use the Internet as a tool for good, but should do so being alert and awake for the many spiritual dangers out there.

Mean “Christians”(snippets)
There seems to be a new breed of “Christian” out there, that is more about control, meanness, and no love whatsoever. As the liberals say “proto-fascists”, [1] while liberalism is false too, they are not too far off the mark, when calling these behaviors out. Some “Christians” seem to have reach zeniths of cruelty and nastiness that even ordinary people in the street could never dream of. One thing many people forget is the Antichrist is not going to show up wearing red horns and carrying a pitchfork to announce himself, but will appear as an “angel of light”.
Life gets really odd, when you see a woman who confesses to be a Christian on one message board that “witnesses to Catholics” calling one Catholic lady a cuss word that rhymes with witch, because she will not budge on her Catholic beliefs. Or how about going to a board that advertises itself as one for fundamentalist Christians, where stating one garden-variety fundamentalist Christian belief, will have you called names like “Moron” or “Idiot” right from the starting gate?
Arguing goes back and forth, and sadly unbelievers are more inoculated against the gospel and new Christians thrown off course. It gets scary when a Christian sits down and realizes they find more friendliness, honesty and good will, even with disagreements on some secular boards then they do on the so called Christian message boards.
Some remember their days as an unbeliever and the mean “Christians” who made it all about “religion” and “following nit picky rules” who almost succeeded in closing their hearts against Jesus Christ, but fortunately God reached in and led them to read His Word, and realize these so called “Christians” represented the opposite of what Jesus Christ preached. One thing as I tell the truth to people, I remember those days.. If you have no love, the message will fall flat, and I do not mean the false demands for love and unity that many defend their universalism and blind following of false leaders with, but trying to lead people to truly know God and caring about them in the meantime.
My faith won’t be affected by these mean “Christians” after all the Bible warns of them, but keep in mind there is a reason that Jesus Christ warned us, to “judge by the fruits”. Even bad churches, have sincere people with good consciences seeking after the truth, and Christians who are just getting started on their journey who the Holy Spirit with time will be showing more and more to, as they stay in prayer and grow in their relationship with God.

What is one to think of preachers who call for war more then peace? [2] Some even insisting that certain Middle Eastern nations should be invaded as quickly as possible. Or Christian leaders who help elevate every politician no matter how crooked? Or pastors who abuse and twist Romans 13 to mean the exact opposite of what it is warning about and use it to lead the flocks into blind obedience into the ditches? Romans 13:3 “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power?” When some atheists and unbelievers point out that “Christians” seem to lust for Armaggedon, death and destruction, with some of the preachers out there, one can see easily how they get this idea.
The evangelical celebrities, and top pastors and vetted politicians all promote the same new world order mandates, how is it different when top political leaders push world government and then Rick Warren calls for global UN mandates? Pre-emptive war-mongering, and an evangelical world that almost seems to lust for WWIII, are getting scary. Here even I have met too many Left Behind readers who almost seem to see the tribulation coming to this world, as a “cool action” movie they can’t wait to see, instead of the outpouring of the price of wickedness and sin. The mustard tree of “Christendom” lusts for power, pushes sycophancy to power to extremes, and worships money more then the truth.
Non-Christians who then shout that “Christianity” is blood-thirsty online, and that it is seeking power and mind control, may actually have a point, but then the problem here, is the false representatives, have a false “Christianity”, another gospel as it were and too many are rejecting what they “think” is “Christianity”. The best thing is to implore such people to read the Bible, and read Jesus Christ’s words for themselves, and to realize these representatives, are not following the true will of God. If any non-Christian reads this, please read the words of Jesus for yourself and realize in many instances, He taught the exact opposite of what is being done in his name.
June 10, 2015 at 1:26 pm#799353MiiaParticipantI notice so many people are on their mobiles today. Go to a waiting room they are there, go to classes they are all on their phones. It is almost becoming a type of “mobile zombie apocalypse”
A recent survey of thousands of people worldwide found one in every four people checked their mobile every thirty minutes, and one in every five checked their mobile every ten minutes.
Quote: “It’s hard to think of any tool, any instrument, any object in history with which so many developed so close a relationship so quickly as we have with our phones,” Time Magazine’s Deputy Managing Editor Nancy Gibbs wrote . “Only money comes close – always at hand, don’t leave home without it. But most of us don’t take a wallet to bed with us,” she added”
The World Health Organization(WHO) have defined a term for this. “Mobile Phone Overuse”. Quote: “People are substituting, on a grand scale, the experience of talking with people face-to-face with simply sending a text that consists of a few words and abbreviations. There is a sense that there is a lack of reality, which has been replaced by a virtual reality. This evidently results in people who don’t know how to act when they’re not using their cell phones.”
