So they were just ordinary men, and not apostles or anything, right?

    Were these men infallible?

    Mike B.

We should not look up to the prophets nor apostles, nor angels. For they also are our brethren.
But we must respect them, and honour them as brothers
in the family. Honour your father and mother.
Call no man father on earth, for one is your father in heaven.
I call my father, dad or pap.

Have we all now come to agreement that the Greek Septuagint (LXX) actually DID exist, and that Jesus and the disciples quoted from the LXX version of the Hebrew OT many times in the NT?

Maybe we should look up in the dictionary what the word “FATHER” means. We have never heard that strange word before! Maybe it has a different meaning?

What is the word father in hebrew?
May be it means mother, or friend, or brother,
or maybe means nothing?? Or maybe it means chicken fry.
Bring out your books of wisdom and show us,
    so we can learn.

    Spiritual Father, that is worshipped.
    God created our fathers also.
    Jesus never called Joseph father.
    And never called Mary mother.
Heavenly Zion is our Mother in heaven.
The daughter of Zion is the daughter of Mother Zion.

Mother Zion was preached to the jews(OT).
THe daughter of Zion is preached to us(NT).
The daughter of Zion begets Children(us),followers.
Mother Zion will beget the chosen Jews in the flesh.
They must be begotten by the daugher of Zion.
Must go through Jesus; then made spirit like the saints.
Then all will be in Mother Zion, and the Son also.
Then we all will be *IN* the heavenly Jerusalem
New Jerusalem will be *IN* heavenly Jerusalem.(HEAVEN AND EARTH).
God all in all. (new Jerusalem IS COMING TO earth).
    (THE 1000YR KINGDOM).

    Confused?

    wakeup.

    Wakeup,

You seem to misunderstand as one of the ones who heard those instructions called the sire of others their father for it is written.

    Matthew 4:22
    Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

That nowhere near the only passage where it is done. Test your doctrine.

    Kerwin.

The scripture also says: He who love father mother brother
sister more than me is not worthy of me.
Jesus also said to one of them, come follow me.
And he said: Lord let me burry my father first the I will come.
Jesus said: Come; let the dead burry their dead.

    Full Question
Would it be possible for you to cite the Scripture passages that Jesus used when he quoted from the Greek Septuagint (LXX) and what Septuagint passages are clearly alluded to in the New Testament?

    Answer

If this magazine were about ten pages longer, perhaps. Of the places where the New Testament quotes the Old, the great majority is from the Septuagint version. Protestant authors Archer and Chirichigno list 340 places where the New Testament cites the Septuagint but only 33 places where it cites from the Masoretic Text rather than the Septuagint.

But, since you ask, here is an example where the Greek gospels present Jesus as quoting the Septuagint: In Mark 7:6–7, Jesus quotes the LXX of Isaiah 29:13 when he says, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’”

Let's see if he's right about Mark 7:6-7……..

    Mark 7 KJV
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Isaiah 29:13 KJV (from the MT/Hebrew Text)
Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Isaiah 29:13 LXX (Greek Septuagint Translation of the Hebrew OT)
And the Lord has said, This people draw nigh to me with their mouth, and they honour me with their lips, but their heart is far from me: but in vain do they worship me, teaching the commandments and doctrines of men.

Which one says, “they worship me in vain, teaching the commandments of men as doctrines”?  The LXX…….. NOT the MT, right?

And Jesus said THOSE WORDS in Mark 7:7, right?  So where do you think THOSE WORDS came from in Mark 7:7?  They didn't come from the Hebrew OT, right?  But they are in the Greek OT (LXX), right?

Hmmmm…………. Is that proof enough for you, journey?

This really isn't rocket science, guys.

    Also, from that same site:

Of course, the reason people usually ask about the New Testament authors’ use of the Septuagint is because it contains the seven deuterocanonical books that are now omitted from Protestant Bibles. Showing that the New Testament authors quoted from the LXX argues in favor of (though does not in itself prove) the inspiration of these seven books.

I will definitely have to look into those seven books now. Perhaps they have “hidden” verses that clearly say Jesus is not God, and that's why the Trinitarians have omitted them as non-canonical?

that is a lot of work to built someone faith in Gods truth ,when we all should look for that truth and so share it ,to many try to teach what they have establish as their own view disregarding the scriptures as a whole and rejecting the older scriptures over their bias version ,

but you have shown how to respond an answer and that has is worth in gold and we all should learn to do it ,and for this I thank you ,

    Mikeb.

Happy hunting for precepts of men: and let us know when you have found the truth. The greeks so far, as a church, have not found the truth.
And the jews so far are blinded.
And the christian land is so far desolate.
Looking for fresh water in a desolate place,is not a wise thing to do.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and
**ye shall find rest unto your souls**.

Matthew 11:30 ***For my yoke is easy***,
    ***and my burden is light***.

You are ignoring Jesus words; by doing the opposite.

it seems to me that many do not believe in the scriptures ,because they do not look for the truth of God ,only their own satisfaction because in their mind and heart they have already established that their is no truth in scriptures beside what they have accepted in it ,

we can see that by the effort they put in to search the truth of God ,so that what they know would be the truth ,and preach what is true ,

but men like that have been around for centuries time of old ,

they do not understand the scriptures ,
