Hi all That are Reading and Jodi,
This is a debate between Jodi Lee and Simplyforgiven.
Have Respect and be curitous to the debators,
do not post in this thread.
This thread will be opened to all when the debate is over whenever we decide in agreement that its Over. The structure of this Debate is very simple,
It will start with stating the Resolve, and making unlimited claims and points to prove the resolve or disprove.
The Resolve will focus on certain scriptures that we will scrutinize.
It will all start with a Case and than a response.
The Interpretation of Scripture is crucial. To Jodi-The Neg Case:
I would suggest that you present a case that first negates the resolution, Of course this is optional, its just a suggestion so that we can keep things organized and simple, after that we can do as we please.
And just to start things off Jodi its would be good to start with 3 claims of why you negate the resolution followed by the points/scripture that prove your cliams.Quote 1NC (first Negative Constructive) –
Note: Neg can adopt Aff points.
Intro:
Resolve:
Define Terms:
1-4Contentions (Points):
—Claim– what your proving
—Warrent– your evidence
> Biblical scriptures: needs to be interpreted to understand intent.
>>V:
>>I: Interpretation of the verse and connection.
>>2nd (optional): another verse to second the original.
—Impact– Why this is important? Connection to claim.
Attack: and question the Affirmative’s Contentions/evidence
Conclude effectively.
Conclusion: summary, and conclusion, connecting back to your points and side of the resolve
The Basics of this is simple,
Every Contention you make is a Claim that your proving.
The Claim is followed by Warrents which is your evidence to prove it. and than the Impact is why your evidence is important to prove/connect the cliam.
Every claim you make should follow these basic guidlines, but of course this is just for the first Post, after that have the freedom to say what you want.
Make sure after you made all your points to make a conclusion that summarizes all your points togethor in why this disproves the Resolve.
Claim>Warrent>ImpactI think it would be fair for both to Post their first opening statements at the same time, and than start off the debate from there.
So Pm when you have your Case ready whether by my suggestions or not, so that we can post it at the same timeAffirmitive (affirming the resolution)- Dennison
Negative (negating the resolution)- JodiThe Resolve: The “Dragon” and “Serpent” mentioned in Rev. & Gen. respresents a Real Entity called the “Devil” or “Satan”.
The Follow Resolve is will be Focused on the Following Scriptures:
>Revelations 12 (Dragon)
>Revelations 20 (Dragon & Serpent)
>Genesis 3 (Serpent)P.s. if any wish to debate a formal debate,

NOTE:
Non-participation in a debate results in losing the debate.
Losing a debate does not mean that the winner is right, but that the opponent couldn't/didn't refute the oppositions view.May 12, 2011 at 2:45 am#245806Jodi LeeParticipantQuote “I think it would be fair for both to Post their first opening statements at the same time, and than start off the debate from there.

SimplyForgiven and I private messaged each other and the last I remember he was tied up with some other things and needed some time. I have continually checked for a message to say we were back on, but that message has never happened….would still love to have this debate!!
