Hi,
About Ray Comfort from wikipedia
“According to Comfort, he has designed dozens of gospel tracts since the 1970s, and sells millions of Living Waters tracts each year.[15] Some of his tracts are designed to resemble paper money, including fake $100, $1,000 and $1 million bills. Others employ novelties intended to amuse, such as a “ticket to heaven” that invites the reader to tear it if they do not need it; the ticket is printed on a polymer substrate, making it extremely durable.[16] The tracts typically attempt to persuade the reader that on judgment day, they will certainly be found guilty of breaking one or more of the Ten Commandments, and therefore will be sent to hell, unless they say a prayer to acknowledge Christ’s substitutionary atonement.”
So he is another false teacher preaching a way of salvation that is not of scripture.
October 15, 2015 at 12:45 pm#803757ProclaimerParticipantActually he teaches that you must repent and turn to God and accept Jesus as your Christ. He clearly communicates this.
He also teaches that God became a man or took on flesh. I disagree with that part of his message/gospel. It was the Word that became flesh. And the foundation of the Church is not God became a man, but that Jesus is the Christ and the son of God.
October 16, 2015 at 5:16 pm#803866NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Where in scripture does it say that ACCEPTING JESUS AS YOUR CHRIST is a way of salvation?
It doesn’t
This is just another popular false teaching
October 17, 2015 at 8:17 pm#803899AndrewADParticipantNick that is true about Christ but we can all have our personal Jesus for salvation just like Bono.

Obviously there is more to it than that, and Bono probably understand that too. But if you believe that Jesus is NOT the Christ, then what is the result? So it is important to believe that he is the Christ and son of God. Jesus build his Church on that truth Nick, so if we are living stones placed on the rock that Jesus built his Church on, then obviously it is necessary to believe this truth about him.
Matthew 16:13-20
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Those that belong to Christ will confess that Jesus is the messiah and those that do not, probably do not right?
Then what about receiving Jesus Christ for salvation. Well that is true to even though I know you are against this.
John 1
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.See how the birth from above is dependent on receiving him?
Note that it doesn’t say that all will be saved, but that he gives them the right to become children of God. Again, if we do not receieve him upon hearing the gospel, then we have rejected it and the right to become a child of God has been rejected.
Now what did the Eunuch confess that allowed him to be baptized?
As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
The bold part of that verse may not be part of the original text, but if it is, then believing who Jesus is was important and upon that, you can be baptized in Jesus name. If you do not believe him and receive him, then is being baptised going to save you? Or are you just going to get wet? If you haven’t repented and have no intention of repenting, then will baptism save you or will you just get wet again?
We read elsewhere:
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house.…
There it is in scripture as to why people say that we must believe in Jesus, yet I am guessing that you probably do not believe those words? If you do believe them, when why do you disagree with people who say that very thing which is written and was spoken by Paul and co.
Elswhere we read:
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.I think you disagree with this too, but it is written.

Believers obey the command.
Acts 16.30-32
“And brought them out and said
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
and they said
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house ”
and they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in the house.
And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptised, he and all his straightway.
October 18, 2015 at 7:08 am#803912NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Why do you call me LORD LORD and not do as I say?
October 18, 2015 at 7:33 am#803915NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Faith is required for salvation.
But faith is not all that is required.
Heb 6-1-6
even demons believe
October 18, 2015 at 10:37 am#803919NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Romans 8 is not offering a new way of salvation that nullifies the teaching of Peter at Pentecost.
The book of Romans is written to the saints.
See chapter 1
October 18, 2015 at 10:49 am#803924kerwinParticipantT8,
Teachers of Law can manipulate the words so the words sound true but the meaning they impart to those words are false.
One word that is often manipulated for ill is “repent”. It is manipulated so those whose itching ears want to hear how they do not want to come out of the darkness hear that if they continue to love evil they will not perish.
October 19, 2015 at 8:50 am#803960AndrewADParticipantAnd dear Bono is also an Irish Catholic. I too am of Irish and Catholic descent and love U2 and Bono so don’t judge or U2 will be judged.
October 19, 2015 at 9:25 am#803963kerwinParticipantAndrew,
Scripture tells us to judge less we be judged.
You can either interpret the statement above to be false or true depending on a number of factors including literal mindedness or a hostile spirit.
October 19, 2015 at 9:44 am#803964AndrewADParticipantKerwin,
But how do you judge Bono? he takes his family to church and prays even.He claims to be a believer.
October 19, 2015 at 10:20 am#803966kerwinParticipantAndrewAD,
The way what I say is true is to judge your actions.
Bono claims to be a brother so he can be judged by his fruits.
None of what you have write about him are things that are bad fruits but the fruits I do not know may be of the flesh. Believers who live by the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. The standards are different for those outside the church as they do not have the Spirit to live by. If he is a heretic then I hope God considers him outside the church even though he goes to church and is convinced he is a believer. In that case he will be judged about whether he heard and understood the truth or not and in the earlier case whether he rejected it or not.
The truth is only for those that hunger and thirst for righteousness. The rest are in love with darkness because their deeds are evil. Most people are in the later category to one degree or another. For example, some do not come out of the darkness because their hunger is lukewarm.
Note: I realize that I mixed metaphors but I am confident my reason for doing so justifies the poor English grammar practice.
October 19, 2015 at 10:34 am#803971NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Why are you judging those of the world?
October 19, 2015 at 11:25 am#803979kerwinParticipantNick,
It would be wise to take the beam out of your own eye and reread my last post because I did not judge anyone in what I wrote.
I earlier stated most people did not come out of the light because the evidence is overwhelming that is so. The church would be in a lot better shape if it was not.
October 19, 2015 at 11:53 am#803982NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Surely you know the basis of judgement.
Jn 16 8-11
October 19, 2015 at 2:40 pm#803992kerwinParticipantNick,
I have not yet learned all things but I do know that we are taught to judge ourselves and others by the fruit that we each display.
October 19, 2015 at 4:22 pm#803994AndrewADParticipantI like some of the music of U2 but to be honest Bono’s role of rock n roll prophet of peace I’ve always found annoying.I’m sure he thinks he’s being like Jesus in doing so but I haven’t always agreed with his political views and rhetoric.Sure I would like to have world peace but he’s said more than that before about things I didn’t think at the time he knew what he was talking about. He talks about world politics in the middle of a rock concert and asks his audience if he’s bugging them, then says well I didn’t mean to bug you. I do think he means well and maybe it’s good for many to hear what he says.
He even says on one album that he serves a god that doesn’t need cash. The crowd roars in applause, but I can’t help but think that’s easy for him to say when he’s rolling in it.I understand what he’s trying to say but I still find it annoying;so yes Bono you sometimes bug me.
