Hi,
Mt 25
Matthew 25
1Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.2And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
These are surely servants of Christ who have tasted of the Spirit of God but their walk has become unspiritual and they are no longer any use for their appointed purpose. It is of some concern that fully half of them are lost.
February 1, 2008 at 4:44 am#80555seek and you will findParticipantNick Even tho the parable is to watch that we have enough Oil when the Bridegroom comes to marry His bride the Church, You say that those that did not have enough oil will be lost for ever. I don't think that they are lost forever, because God wants all to be saved . Jesus came to save the world. The parable is for His Church, they that are the elect. Not all will be the elect. Judgement is on the Church first. Jesus died for all. Also God the Father has given us to Jesus He will not loose us. That is His promise.
I don't understand what you mean by getting unspiritual? I thought that once you have God's Holy Spirit, that God will make sure that Jesus won't loose us. Unless one really tramples on the Holy Spirit and commits the unpardonable Sin, we are saved. Just the way I see it.Peace and Love Mrs.

My thoughts are that all in Christ are given a 'talent” of the Spirit but we must all seek more.
I expect those excluded must endure the tribulation.February 1, 2008 at 5:14 am#80561Not3in1ParticipantYou mean the chicks that didn't have their oil lamps trimmed will endure the trib? How can this be since they are all long since dead? Will they be resurrected to endure the trib?
February 1, 2008 at 5:16 am#80562NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
I expect they are not dead but living servants, gifted in the Spirit, but wasting their gifts.February 1, 2008 at 5:21 am#80563Not3in1ParticipantHmmmm I've never heard this before. I'll have to go back and read all of this again.
Thanks, Nick. Hey bro, how are you feeling these days? I'm really glad that you are back with us.
MandyFebruary 1, 2008 at 9:32 pm#80582seek and you will findParticipantNick You mean that we are to study the word of God and grow in Spirit and in truth, right? You can look back into your life and see if you are growing and using your talent. The more you learn and study the more of God's Holy Spirit He will give you, that is what I have experienced in my live. Overcoming I have found out never stops, even at my age. I have often wondered if we have to be perfect before God lets us be in His Kingdom? As I am sitting here writing the Holy Spirit is saying to me what did Paul say. I do what I don't want to do and I don't do what I am to do. Being German gives me a hard head and we are a stubborn bunch. Two Germans together can you imation what our children have to hear sometimes. Just kidding. My Husband and I have gone through a lot and are so thankful to God what He has previded for us here in America. We are U.S. Citizens since the 1970 something, dont remember the exact date. We have built a Home (3) and Business here for our children and I will forever be thankful to God for that. A long time away from the date when I first gave myself to God, when I was 8 years old. Sorry I am just rattling on, when one gets old we think back a lot.
Peace and Love Mrs.
February 1, 2008 at 9:51 pm#80584NickHassanParticipantHi Mrs,
The minimum God expects of the servants he has invested in is to put ther talents in the bank.Mt25
24″And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, 'Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed.25'And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.'
26″But his master answered and said to him, 'You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed.
27'Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest.
28'Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.'
What do you think this means?
February 1, 2008 at 11:34 pm#80586seek and you will findParticipantNick those that are stagnate and don't grow and receive more of God's Holy Spirit ( Oil stands for Spirit) will have no Oil left and will be left behind. That means they will not make it to the wedding Feast.

Yes we must knock, ask and seek more.
Those who have much will receive much more.
We must let the Morning Star shine in our hearts
We must allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit.
That only comes through continued prayer
And daily commitment to Christ
and feeding on the Word.February 1, 2008 at 11:46 pm#80588NickHassanParticipantHi Mrs,

The body of Christ or is it prayer?February 2, 2008 at 12:16 am#80589seek and you will findParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 02 2008,10:45) Hi Mrs,

I expect those excluded must endure the tribulation.Nick:
You nailed it. The five virgins that get in are kept from the hour of temptation that comes upon the whole world as a thief in the night. The five wise are ready for the coming. This is what kicks off the Day of Lord.
In Matthew 24:34-35, there are two verses that appear back to back that are identical in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. In Matthew Jesus gives several parables consecutively that teach this same truth commencing from Matt. 24:36 through Matt. 25:30. All of the comparisons and parables given signify “surprise”. The unexpectedness of the coming of the Day of Lord is what Christ preached. This is not the resurrection which occurs after the tribulation. Jesus distinguishes his coming as a thief in the night from the coming in glory after the tribulation.
He starts with the Days of Noah, then two in the field and two grinding at the mill (one is taken and another is left, this can only be literal), then another warning, “Watch”; then the goodman of the house. Then shall the Kingdom be likened unto ten virgins, and finally the parable of the talents.
In all the examples we see Christ judging his church, distinguishing between the obedient and the disobedient and punishing the disobedient with tribulation as in the days of Lot. Remember Abraham was alive in the days of Lot but watched the destruction of the cities from afar off. Lot chose to pitch his tent toward Sodom and ended up living in the city and barely escaped because he was obedient at the critical moment by not looking back.
His wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. Christ's first parable in Mathew is about salt. The salt which loses its savour is cast out and trampled under foot.
Once you see the order of the scriptures it all comes together.
This is why it is do critical to be ready for the Day of the Lord. Three times in the last book of Revelation Christ said “Behold, I come quickly.”

Hi Mandy:I know you were directing your question to Nick, and I think that he answered your question by the following statement:
Quote These are surely servants of Christ who have tasted of the Spirit of God but their walk has become unspiritual and they are no longer any use for their appointed purpose. It is of some concern that fully half of them are lost. But also the following is relevant:
Quote These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 They had be come complacent and were no longer serving God with their whole heart, and therefore, the Lord came in an hour when they did not expect him, and therefore, they were lost.
God Bless
