    Yoke
    על
    Hebrew Word
The Hebrew word ol means “yoke”.
Because of a passage in Ben Sira (Ecclesiasticus), the Jews of first century Judea called a system of teaching — how a sage studied of Torah and interpreted of Torah, the parables and sayings he shared, and his practical lifestyle — a “yoke”.
This is what Yeshua spoke of about himself in Matthew 11:28-30:
Come to me all you who labor and are burdended, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart and you shall find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Yeshua also speaks favorably about the yoke of the Pharisees in Matthew 23:2-4.
In Acts 15:10 the Apostles speak of a similar, commonly used image: the yoke of treating Torah itself as a sage of which to be a disciple.

Seeking……..Jesus was not talking about yoking with His He was talking Yoking with the father , He said put (MY YOKE) what Yoke did he Have on Him , was it not the YOKE of the FATHER . God in the old testament wanted to Yoke with Israel but he said they we (stiff necked) a term use for an ox the did not want to be yoked with another , So it would stiffen it neck in order to resist the yoke. Jesus was yoked with the FATHER and Was telling us to take the same Yoke on us also. and went on to even describe the weight of that yoke as light.

    Thank you seeking,
To let Jesus be our teacher is to be yoked to him.

    GB,

So you say!  And your point is..?

If you insist that the teaching (yoke according to the Hebrew)
Jesus asked us to take on was the teaching He received from the father – I am fine with that.  Once you take ownership of something, however, it becomes yours  thus Jesus said,“my yoke” and learn of “me.

I would grant that the shoes I am wearing I got at the shoe store, nevertheless, now, they are myshoes.

Seekng ………My point was we are not taking Jesus' yoke he had on Him that yoke never left Him, we are taking on a same kind of yoke he has on him. And that is to yoke with the FATHER as Jesus is also.
