Matthew 12:1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
Matthew 12:2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
Matthew 12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Matthew 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
Matthew 12:10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
Matthew 12:11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
Matthew 12:12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
Matthew 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither
wakeup.
June 26, 2014 at 4:15 pm#389995terrariccaParticipantthe Sabbath for true Christians are not required because the one day Sabbath as become a full week Sabbath with 24/7 being a faithful believer in Christ and his father ,how can someone separate us from Christ for six days and then remember him on the seventh
the true worshiper as to worship God in TRUTH AND SPIRIT ; IT DOES NOT SAY ON THE SEVENTH DAY ONLY ; REMEMBER THE SABBATH WAS SET ASIDE FOR GOD ,BUT CHRIST CAME AND MADE ALL HIS TIME TO DO THE WILL OF HIS FATHER SO LIKE WISE WE AS BELIEVERS SHOULD DO THE SAME ,NO SABBATH BUT 24/7 AT THE SERVICE OF GOD AND HIS SON

a Christian can but it is not a requirement any longer ,for a Christian the Sabbath is not of one day but of all seven days of the week and 24 hours of the day,so if someone believe that having only ONE DAY TO SERVE GOD WILL WAKE UP DEAD IN SIX DAYS ,
IF YOU GIVE TO GOD ONE DAY IN A WEEK WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR HIM THE OTHER SIX DAYS ???
ALSO IF GOD AS ONLY ACCESS TO YOUR HEART ONE DAY ,WERE WOULD YOUR HEART BE THE OTHER SIX DAYS ???
CAN ANYONE HAVE LOVE FOR SOMEONE ONE DAY IN A WEEK AND NOT LOVE HIM THE OTHER SIX DAYS ???
i CAN GO ONE MUCH MORE
July 17, 2014 at 12:54 pm#775741942767ParticipantAll of God’s principles for living, including resting one day in the week, are important and good.
As Jim Staley noted we do not have do anyting that we do not want to do, but as Christians, we should obey God’s commandments out our love for Him and for humanity.
Although I believe that it is not the specific day that is important but the principle, I believe that we should all keep the Sabath day as Christians as set out in the bible, that is Saturday instead of Sunday, in order to stop this kind of division in the church and come into unity.
Love in Christ,

MT 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
MT 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
MT 5:15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
MT 5:16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
MT 5:17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
MT 5:18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
MT 5:19 “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

We are told the sabbath is a “sign” between God and his people. So what is the great sign mentioned there, what spritual significants is being implied? If we look at it from a physical stand point, it says “six days you shall work and the seventh day you shall rest, ceasing from all “your” works. GOD was establishing a spritual principal, through physical means, with Israel, it was to show God does require a ceasing from our own works in order to be one of his own childern.
This goes beyond just a physical principle, the sabbath was being used to establish a great spritual principle. That is why it says, we who have believed have entered into “HIS REST”. This is the great spritual principal of the sabbath. It is not done away with , it must be spiritually kept for ever, just as all the commandments of God are truly spritual so is the requirements of the sabbath.
Heb 3:18-19 ….And to whom said he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19, So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Heb 4:1……let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left of us entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of. 2, For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3, for we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, as I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundations of the world. 4, from he spake in a certain place of the Seventh Day on this wise, and God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 , and in another place again, if they shall enter into my rest.
Heb 4:9……There remains therefore a rest (a keeping of the sabbath) to the people of God.
Now this is the great principle of the Sabbath,….Heb 4:10..> For he that is entered into that rest, he also has ceased from his works, as God did from his.
Now if we havery truly died with Jesus the Christ of God, we have indeed ceased from OUR WORKS, and have entered into God’s rest. IMO
peace and love to you all……………..gene

man was not created for the sabbath ,but the sabbath for men ,big difference;
a day for all men to serve God and rest of his personal work ,how can a Christian be only a Christian on one day ?
it seems to me that a person that serve God fully every day can take one or two or three days off if he can afforted ,a rest in his work but even in his secular work a christian suppose to be a Christian first ,
but if you want to brag about observing the sababath from the law ;you have to also apply all other laws for the laws have not been made to pick and chose either it is all and every law or none and find grace into Christ sacrifice ,and serve God 24/7

How can God be God for one day a week? Yet he rested.
Exodus 20:8
“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.Ex 20:9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
Ex 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.Isa 58:13 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the LORD’S holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
Isa 58:14 then you will find your joy in the LORD,
and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
The mouth of the LORD has spoken.when it says not to do any work for yourself (your work) it does not say not to do works for the interest needs of others does it ?
Lk 14:5 Then he asked them, “If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out?”
Lk 14:6 And they had nothing to say.Jn 7:22 Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs), you circumcise a child on the Sabbath.
Jn 7:23 Now if a child can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing the whole man on the Sabbath?
Jn 7:24 Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.”Mk 2:27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
Mk 2:28 So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
Mk 3:1 Another time he went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there.
Mk 3:2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.
Mk 3:3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
Mk 3:4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
Mk 3:5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.1Pe 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.
1Pe 1:15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
1Pe 1:16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”2Pe 3:11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives
24/7
God cannot be God for one day because he is God period and always was and will be so we also should be
October 29, 2014 at 3:54 am#781238LightenupParticipantI just read this from Justin Martyr. Justin was born less than 100 years from when Jesus was walking among His disciples.
I have made ‘bold’ the text which is especially relevant to the discussion.Chapter IX.—Let us live with Christ.
If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things680 have come to the possession of a new681 hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance682 of the Lord’s Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death—whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith,683 and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master—how shall we be able to live apart from Him, whose disciples the prophets themselves in the Spirit did wait for Him as their Teacher? And therefore He whom they rightly waited for, being come, raised them from the dead.684
If, then, those who were conversant with the ancient Scriptures came to newness of hope, expecting the coming of Christ, as the Lord teaches us when He says, “If ye had believed Moses, ye would have believed Me, for he wrote of Me;”685 and again, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it, and was glad; for before Abraham was, I am;”686 how shall we be able to live without Him? The prophets were His servants, and foresaw Him by the Spirit, and waited for Him as their Teacher, and expected Him as their Lord and Saviour, saying, “He will come and save us.”687 Let us therefore no longer keep the Sabbath after the Jewish manner, and rejoice in days of idleness; for “he that does not work, let him not eat.”688 For say the [holy] oracles, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat thy bread.” 689But let every one of you keep the Sabbath after a spiritual manner, rejoicing in meditation on the law, not in relaxation of the body, admiring the workmanship of God, and not eating things prepared the day before, nor using lukewarm drinks, and walking within a prescribed space, nor finding delight in dancing and plaudits which have no sense in them.690 And after the observance of the Sabbath, let every friend of Christ keep the Lord’s Day as a festival, the resurrection-day, the queen and chief of all the days [of the week]. Looking forward to this, the prophet declared, “To the end, for the eighth day,”691 on which our life both sprang up again, and the victory over death was obtained in Christ, whom the children of perdition, the enemies of the Saviour, deny, “whose god is their belly, who mind earthly things,”692 who are “lovers of pleasure, and not lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.”693 These make merchandise of Christ, corrupting His word, and giving up Jesus to sale: they are corrupters of women, and covetous of other men’s possessions, swallowing up wealth694 insatiably; from whom may ye be delivered by the mercy of God through our Lord Jesus Christ!November 11, 2015 at 6:29 pm#804599ProclaimerParticipantChris White gives his view on why we do NOT need to keep the Sabbath.
November 12, 2015 at 3:21 am#804609kerwinParticipantt8,
I can make that point faster than an hour and thirty-two minutes. I would not teach the Jews not to set aside Saturday as their Holy Day because that is a Jewish Tradition given to the children of Israel as a gift and God has not taken back his gift. It was never a gift to the Gentiles unless they lived in Jewish households.
That is all that needs saying on the subject. Any discussion is merely people they are reading things in Scripture that are not written. I find that difficult to do.

anyone that observe the sabbath according to the Jewish way of the law then they are practicing judaism not christ ,for God freed us through his sonthe fact that God took a rest for 7000 years or so does not make us the right to do just that nature will tell you that ,
God does not serve himself or another god ;the sabbath was made for a reason ,and that reason was Christ so the sabbath of Christ is 24/7
November 12, 2015 at 6:24 am#804628kerwinParticipantTerraric,
Christ came to save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21) not from the Law (Matthew 5:18).
