Hi forum,
One reason you have been arguing about the Shabbat so much is that you do not have a Jewish soul. Christianity, while it started out as a form of Judaism, became something totally foreign to Judaism. That is why you cannot truly appreciate the beauty and wonder of Shabbat. You should just keep Sunday because you have strayed so far from Judaism that keeping Shabbat in your way may actually offend G-d. Just my opinion.

There was three articles put inside of the Ark of the Covenant.
What about the other two? Since you insist there is something “Special” about the “Ten commandments” over the rest of the Law.
What about the “Manna” and “Aarons Rod that budded”?
How about this?
God was trying to show us the “Trinity”.
God the Father – Ten commandments
God the Son – Manna
God the Spirit – Aarons Rod that budded
You know WJ I have heard something about that. But i don't remember what!1Ki 8:5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
1Ki 8:6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.
1Ki 8:7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
1Ki 8:8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.
1Ki 8:9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. That's all I know and of course Moses' law was NOT placed inside the ark, was it?
OH! I believe in the trinty.

The Son

October 26, 2007 at 7:10 am#69485Not3in1ParticipantLooking forward to another Sabbath rest. I need it like I need air. This life has many worries and responsibilities – even having our schedules filled to max with good things can rob us of peace of mind, and rest. I'm getting the hang of this resting day unto the LORD. I've never been a napper……but boy is it goooooooooooood on the Sabbath to literally rest. I have never slept so deeply in all my life. And I have never heard from the LORD more clearly than on this day I have acknowledged as being His Day.
May the LORD bless us all as we rest in him. As we rest in the shadow of what will be our eternal rest. Praise Him!
October 26, 2007 at 7:37 am#69487IM4TruthParticipantI have rested so long in the Lord it has become second nature to me. When We kept the Sabbath in the letter of the Law, it was a wonderful day always. But we fellowship-ed and talked about God. We started out at 10:00A.M. and went til 12:00P.M. and went out to Lunch and then went to each others House and fellowshiped some more. After the sun went down we played Cards some time til midnight. Those were good times and I do miss it. I can't wait till I see them again.

October 26, 2007 at 7:16 pm#69518Not3in1ParticipantThanks, brother Gene, I appreciate your encouragement very much. Yes, I do need to rest more. I am one of these mom's that does it all (and I'm beginning to re-evaluate what is important and what we can let go of as a family to create more “down” time). I really believe that family time is important and so I'm trying to keep us all connected and rested during this remodel……and sometimes that is not easy.
Thanks again, Gene. I have been blessed by your posts and I am so glad that you are here.
Love to you and your dear family,

To you, too!October 29, 2007 at 8:01 am#69800Not3in1ParticipantMy husband joined me in a Sabbath's rest this Saturday. Even the kids rested from usual activities and play. What a blessing it was! There was a peace that settled on the house that is hard for me to explain. But when we all woke up (after a 2 hour nap), we all just looked at one another and smiled. My husband said, “I could dig this Sabbath thing!” It's a start….. Praise the Lord of the Sabbath!
I also explained to the kids that the Sabbath is the Seventh Day, and that Jesus wasn't really born on Christmas. We also decided to not participate in our usual Halloween potluck party with friends and the kids are going to church that night for their “Harvest Festival”. I suspect the Lord is beginning a work in our household……..

Awesome! I wish it was as easy with me. Two differnent sides tugging, mom believes in one thing, dad the other.I think that your recent announcement of your illness shows that God wanted you to seek His rest. And I have all the confidence and faith in Him that as you seek Him more an more that He will bring you through all of your current situations in the very best way. No matter what that ends up being, always know He is in control.
As to Christmas, no I don't want to say it is Yeshua's birthday. You know because I've said as much. But did you ever wonder where chanukah (sp?) comes from? It certainly is not the Tanach! It happened during the time between the recorded Tanach and New Testament. There are some clues about it in the Maccabees books in the Apochrypha. I'd have to research it more to say exactly where but that just goes to show you that modern Jews celebrate a holiday that is not found in scriptures they accept. But I do think it is specified in the Talmud (oral Torah). I've never read any of the Talmud — and I don't plan to any time in the foreseeable future — but I've heard this is the case.

All I can say is WOW, your children are very blessed to have two parents who want to please YHWH! Your family is like unto a beautiful flower blossom in a field of thorns.Kejonn,
My family is also divided. My sisters celebrate Christmas. My Mom, myself, and my children do not. It is very tough to step out of Babylon, into His Way. You Kejonn must find your strength in Him, and be a living example, like our Messiah. That is one of the responsibilities of Israel. You can now understand how the Israel of old fell back into sin, time and time again, even with the great leaders of their time. We on the other hand, do not have an excuse, for the Spirit of our Father dwells within us, and it is not a small thing to sin against His Spirit, or in other words to deny the truth that we understand and know.Be strong, be loving, be understanding, but do not give in!
Your sister in Messiah,
LaurelOctober 29, 2007 at 4:00 pm#69826Not3in1ParticipantLaurel and Kevin,
Thanks for your encouraging words! Unveiling truth is a process, I believe. When we earnestly seek him, I believe that we are given insight and revelations.
Hey Kevin, when it comes to Jewish and Christian celebrations not found in scriptures, I wonder if this is what Paul is talking about when he says one will prefer one day over the next? And really, does it matter that a celebration or festival is not in the scriptures? Cannot God's people create a holiday and call it holy? Everything that God has created is good? Does everything have to be seeped in paganism?
October 29, 2007 at 4:44 pm#69834LaurelParticipantNot3,
There are two Jewish festivals that are not commanded in Scripture, they are Hanukah and Purim. Both of these are to YHWH for protecting the Jewish people from extinction.Scripture does not tell us to keep them and they do not interfere with His commanded festivals, which fall at other times on the calander. They proove this by also keeping His “appointed times”, besides Purim and Hanukah.
Messiah taught at the temple durring Hanukah, which is the Festival of Light; that, “I am the light of the world.” Still most Ortodox Jews are blind to this truth, because there tradition is marked by the traditions of the Pharisees who are not the appointed priest of YHWH and never were. The Pharisees are likened to the Catholices, “who believe they alone have the power to change the law of Elohim. This is proven in their “Talumud,” a book of man-made laws and traditions. Unlike the “Tenach”, which most Christains call the Old Testament, which is the inspired Word of Elohim.
Christmas and Easter blind us from the true festivals of YHWH, that is what make them wrong. The fruit of Christmas and Easter are proof. They have taken Messiah out and relpace it with self-serving money spending, debt producing, Spirit threatening false doctrines.
You will know them by their fruit.

Oh, no………this has spoken to me. The Spirit has nudged me.I say, “Oh, no” because I confess, I love Christmas and Easter as everyone here knows. I fight the reason for giving them up based on pagen customs, however, what you have just shared has more to do with pleasing the LORD. It has brought it down to a heart issue, rather than a pagen-following issue. Does this make sense?
Well, I have some praying to do….I better go get started!
Thanks, sister.
Much love to you,
MandyOctober 29, 2007 at 5:07 pm#69841LaurelParticipantYou will see with those Spiritual glasses, that Messiah IS the reason for the season, the times and seasons back in Genesis, made to show us Him and proove His Word it true. I wish you blessings of the Spirit in your search.
Love in Him,

I knew the Lord was going to do something with you this Sabbath because the Spirit really moved when I brought you up in prayer. For others I'm not saying the Lord only answers prayer on the Sabbath. Its just that's when I was praying…ok.
May the Lord continue to bless you!
