How are we to keep His commandments…Spiriitually then physically. If we don't lust then their won't be any “physical” adultery. As it is under the “New” Covenant if we “spiritually” lust then we have sinned. Of course sin is trangression of the law. Which law? Is it a sin not to keep feasts?
I believe that is what Rom. 14 is all about. The Jews followed Paul and tried to convince the Gentiles that they had to keep the law that Moses wrote. And apparently they succeeded. This caused division Paul's responce (judgment call) was basically to each his own.
I don't believe that keeping the feasts is necessary BUT I do believe that keeping the feasts is going an extra step, an extra mile. I personnally do not feel “called” to keep feasts.
Laurel I know you object but I ask then what is Rom 14 all about. Paul was not speaking of the forth commandment so what was Paul speaking about:
Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
Rom 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. So far that's what I believe.
Peace Laurel and God bless all,
Ken
October 9, 2007 at 1:21 pm#67921kenrchParticipantQuote (Laurel @ Oct. 09 2007,17:12) Quoting KJ to WJ,It is not about the physical keeping of any of God’s commandments. Yeshua taught us that! But you act as if you only need the Holy Spirit to grow, and that the OT is just an old book that needs to sit on the shelf. You are missing out on so much. My response.
The OT is the Spirit, and if you can't learn from it, you do not have the Spirit “in you.”Yes it is about keeping His laws. The difference is that keeping those laws do not erase the sins we commit. The only covering for them is Y'shua blood. Our works do not make us righteous, for we are all guilty and deserve death!
We keep the commands, out of fear, love, respect, reverence, worship, thanksgiving, honor, to Him who Created us, and sent His Son to show us the Way.
Lastly, if everyday was the Sabbath rest, when would we tend to our families, our jobs, our houses, our friends? He only wants one day, Set-apart to Him. We rest, we worship, we humble ourselves, and remove ourselves from the world completely on that day, the Sabbath.
People who say can have a Sabbath every day are liars. When would the car get washed? When would we shop? When would we till the garden? We have 6 days a week to do this stuff. Some can't even give one day a week of their time, but they claim, they give every day. Ha Ha Ha!!!
I pray daily, I read Scripture daily, I am in the Spirit with Him daily, but it's different, because all those other days He is there for me. On the Sabbath I am there for Him.
Quote The only covering for them is Y'shua blood. Our works do not make us righteous, for we are all guilty and deserve death! 1Jo 2:12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his name's sake.
My sins are NOT covered they ARE FORGIVEN peroid!
Under the Old Covenant because their debt was NOT paid for their sins were covered and NOT forgiven. The New Covenant the Christ came paid my debt for my sins. Now we who are guided by the Spirit have forgiveness for HIS Names sake.
Peace and blessings,
Ken
October 9, 2007 at 2:01 pm#67923LaurelParticipantNot3inone,
I read your post, I was awestruck and exceedingly filled with joy!
As with all of His Word, we grow as we are given understanding. So now you “get it.” YHWH has blessed you for He sees where I do not. He speaks through the Spirit straight to the soul of those who truely want to please Him.
You have reached that point. From now on, in keeping in this Spirit, you will be even more blesse to “see” the meatier things. Ken brought of the Feasts firstly. According to Leviticus, YHWH's Feasts are alike the Sabbath in that they are His “appointed times.” There are special Sabbaths included in each of YHWH's Feasts. They are refered to as high Sabbaths. The first day of unleavened bread is one of these high Sabbaths. It follows the Passover Day.
So maybe the first lesson you can learn is that Y'shua was in the tomb “exactly” 3 days and 3 nights, according to Scripture (the Feast of Unleavened Bread discribed in Scripture.)
That can have a thread of it's own. Whatever you all want.
As far as the weekly Sabbath, you will find rest for your soul. You will have a certain peace in your life that you never had before. And in keeping with the Spirit of things, lets let each person grow at their own pace. Let us not quench the Spirit.
Not3, you have just taken hold of the hand of the man who will lead you to the kingdom of heaven! Please do not sin on purpose. Stay in His Word daily. His Word will be a sheild to you to repell the darts that are sure to come at you more now than ever.
I'm sure Satan is really upset, so be ready for a lot of temptation for a while, and stand firm by doing His will, and not the will of the world or the flesh.
If you mess up, He is there to help.
Love to my newest family member,
LaurelOctober 9, 2007 at 5:50 pm#67929GeneBalthropParticipantTo all…….> why is the sabbath in the ten commandments anyway, let me try to answer that question.
What i believe it show's the way we are to be saved, its a picture if you will of salvation. God was showing those Israelites a time would come when we must inter into a complete rest.
Think about what Jesus said, He that will save His life will loose it, He that will loose his life will save it. This idea of ceasing to live (YOUR LIFE) is a sign of dying or intering into rest i.e. Sabbath. The sabbath principle is about dying to our will and Living through God's will. For He (GOD) works in us to WILL and do His Pleasure. This is only done if our will are put to rest and God's will is done in us.
This is what the sabbath pictures it's the process of Salvation and thats why The Father put it in the ten commandments. Entering into (our rest) is the way we are saved. Jesus said it was the Father in him doing the works, you see his will was a rest. We all have WILL”S and they must be put to rest so that only one WILL is done and thats the FAthers WILL, and when that Happens then the saying will come to pass” God in all and through all. It all is portrayed by the sabbath.
So when you are Keeping the Physical Day please don't forget the principle and the picture it holds for us all……peace and love to all………gene
October 9, 2007 at 6:45 pm#67931IM4TruthParticipantI want to ask all of you what did Jesus mean when He said:” The road is steep, and few will find it.” Are those that claim to have the truth, few? Most are either keeping the Sabbath or Sunday. So who is He talking about? That has been on my mind a lot for some time, and I hope somebody will answer that question.
Peace and Love Mrs.
October 9, 2007 at 8:16 pm#67938LaurelParticipantTo Gene, Thank you for the insight, that is first and foremost to do His will and let our fleshy will go.
To Ken, Romans 14:6-7 Letting the Spirit guie you is a step, by step process. We are told that whatever we do, do it for Him. When I went to Sunday church, I thought I was doing His will. I continued in my belief striving to do His will, and I learned about the Sabbaths. Now I know there is still so much more to learn. I know that as I walk and follow Y'shua, and seek to please our Creator, more will be given to me to know and understand. I know I must stay away from sin, in order to keep growing. Sin is like drought to a seedling. If I stay in His Word, in His Spirit, there is an everflowing river of life. My being needs this Spiritual water to survive Spiritually.
We are supposed to do what we know pleases our Father in heaven, and we are convicted in our heart that we are. If I have a doubt about anything, I need to seek to do His will first before anything.
Iam4, Few who find it…
The path to righteousness takes a lot of effort. A lot of effort. Most people today do not put in the effort it takes to reach the top. We are into the world too much. Our children, our work schedule, our relationships, our health issues, our time schedule all have a way of turning us toward those needs. We having a heart want to make sure those thing are taken care of, so we work at them, putting them first. We need to stop, put our trust in YHWH, then all these things will be added to us.We like to be in control of our lives. We need to realize we have no control. Most folks can't let go of their worldly needs, even their children.
Example: It seems good to protect our children, and it is to a point. The problem comes when we protect them to the point of lying for them, or letting them get away with sin because we do not want to seem mean.
There are a million examples I could use, but you can see it in our everyday lives for yourself. If we must sin in order to make it right, then we aren't really making it right.
When you become a person after His heart, and begin to feel the firey darts, it is human nature to duck and run. As one who stands firm, we do not turn to the right or to the left, no matter what. He is first.
Satan trys to use our soft heart to his advantage, usually through some sort of scare tactic. When we stand firm, over time we see the benefits of it, not really an immediate satisfaction.

Make sure you don't lose site of what it pictures, what we do in the physical sence by ceasing from our physical works is what we need to do in a spritual sence by ceasing from the woeks of the flesh and thats every day, The sabbath day only gives us a picture of the process of salvation. WE can not forget that.

But i am confident that who ever the Father choses to lead will find it. And always remember we only see in part but the day will come when we will all see clearly. We are all just a work in progress now, but our Father is plenty competent to get us through it. And remember the old saying ,Iron sharpens Iron.
Love to you and yours………genOctober 10, 2007 at 7:46 am#68001Not3in1ParticipantLaurel, Gene, Ken and others,
Thank you for your encouragement, you all really have no idea how much it means to me. I am pressed on every side from family and friends because I no longer accept that my Creator is three persons in one. In fact, I am learning that there are more non-truths that I have been taught that I will need to let go of (i.e., traditions). I have simply come too far in my search for truth to stop now. I want everything the Father has for me; I want it all! Earnestly I seek him out………
It is ironic that the Father is teaching me about the Sabbath now in my life – because I am so tired! So, the message has been, “Rest!” I cannot wait until sundown Friday night! I can't wait to run to the Father and rest in him. I can't wait to silence my world for 24 glorious hours to hear from him. To sit at his feet and bask in his glory and peace. Maybe it was a Sabbath keeper that came up with the saying, “Thank God it's Friday!”
As KJ has said – the OT is like a diary left behind, and our Father is the author. It's coming alive to me like it never has before. God is so good.
Well, it's late. Once again I'm burning the midnight oil. No wonder I'm tired, huh? Good grief. The Father has his work cut-out for himself in dealing with me. I'm a slow learner, but once I get something, I'm good. And I'm learning that I need to rest in him. I need to obey him and keep the Sabbath holy. Pray for me as I begin to introduce this idea into our household. There will be many challenges ahead……

“…..few will find it…..”
My personal belief is that those who answer the question, “Who do you say that I am?” correctly are walking the narrow path. Remembering that not everyone who says, “Lord! Lord!” will be allowed to enter. And why will they not be able to enter? Because the Lord never knew them [and they didn't know who he was]. OK, going to bed for real now…..

Sis don't get too legalistic. Don't worry about the sun. If you are a second or two late HE really doesn't mind. In fact I know their is much rejoicing up thereRelax and just follow the SPIRIT
Of course I'm not saying break the Sabbath but relax HE knows what we need more than we ourselves do.
You know Satan will try all kinds of stuff. But mostly Satan has no “new” tricks. You will see…but it seems you already have …..that the Sabbath is yet another “step” in your walk with HIM.

Indeed, this is true.We are all children of God and as such, I believe he works with us individually. For me, this Sabbath rest is just what I needed (and was willing to accept) at this time in my life. God's ways are not our ways, praise the LORD! I am so grateful that God sees our hearts and knows that we want to please him. I believe he brings us all around to the full truth eventually…….for he is able to make us stand. Praise his holy name!
And thank you, Ken, for the encouragement. It means so much to me right now.

Boy, I can get into this rest thing. I'm experiencing some true peace lately despite my looming medical issues. I believe there is something to honoring the Sabbath. I'm learning slowly. But I can tell you that I've never slept so good in all my life!

Sure sis you put the world on hold. It's been my experience that I feel completely Isolated from the world as if I'm in a different world which is what the Sabbath points too.So how's the family doing with the change. All you can really do is explain it…..Would you like for me to do that for you

You laugh, but I've often thought that it would be nice having you or Laurel or KJ living near by to help me with explaining some of this to my family!I have to be careful with introducing too much here. I don't want to turn my kids away from the Lord. I dont' want them to think I'm going over-board. They already think I'm nuts because I study so much. Plus, tonight at their Wed. church services that they go to, I had to write a note to the leaders telling them my children didn't have to recite their creed that said Jesus is God. It embarassed my kids a little that I did that, but I explained to them how important it is to stand up for what you believe in…..even if you are the only one. So, I'm taking it slow and trying to really prep them for what comes next. Plus, I want to honor my husband as he is standing on the side lines, not really wanting to take the spiritual leadership of this house. It's a dance I am doing between trying to guide my children and respecting my husband.

Kejonn is right! You just let the Spirit lead Give scripture and explain why you do what you do. Your husband had to have heard of the Ten Commandments.Your husband sounds like my brother in law “it's not his job it's the pastor's job” but then he doesn’t' believe in being born again that comes at the resurrection. He is a good person always does what's right. Let's just say he is a little self righteous. My brother's god is green, if you know what I mean
What makes people like that on this site SEEK and others are satisfied with just “ok I know there is a God and Jesus is His Son who died for me” NO! I always explain you don't know! People like my brother in law and brother and the rest of the world are in for a big surprise. I pray it is a pleasant one.
The Lord told my sister to get rid of her “diamond watch”. So what did she do? She “put it away”. The Lord had told me that she had a problem with materialism before she told me about the watch. And I told her that she should give the watch away or sell it and give the money to charity, not the charity on this site . See, she sees money as a trophy of some sort and she did work for it. What will be the out come of these people who love themselves more that God? She's getting up in age now and has been diagnosed with heart problems. But she seems scared to die. She said no but I could sense the fear. I said what is it with all you “Christians” you believe in God and His son but are scared to die.
1Co 15:35 But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?”
1Co 15:36 You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.Heb 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,
I often hear I don't want to leave my loved ones. If your loved ones needed you do you think you would be called. Does not God know what HE is doing?
Everyone looks for the end the coming of the Lord. What one should realize is that the end could be around the corner for some of us. That is for some as myself are living in “our end time”.
Live for today for tomorrow has enough trouble of it's own.
Mat 6:30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Mat 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Jam 4:13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”–
Jam 4:14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
Jam 4:15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”What does it mean to be “in Christ”? Guided by the Spirit and do as HE would do. To be in Christ is to be in the Father for Christ is in the Father and they are one in SPIRIT.
When we keep the Sabbath you give no thought to all these things mentioned above. We rest in the Father on His day and do not think of such things.
October 18, 2007 at 4:38 pm#68705Not3in1ParticipantYes, rest. I cannot wait.
I think when Christians are afraid to die (as I have been in the past), we are to encourage one another, as it is written, that Christ will return in the clouds and those who are asleep will join him first, and then those who remain will meet him in the air! Then we shall be forever with the Lord. I think we are supposed to encourage one another with those words because it's easy to lose sight of. We live in the flesh daily.
Yes, there is more to knowing God than just believing the “basics”. That is our joy – to seek him out! But even as I shared with our construction worker's the other day, after sharing the gospel with them they said, “Oh, ya, we believe that is true.” It is one thing to believe the words are true, it is another to make Jesus the Lord of your life and follow him. And it is yet another to earnestly seek after God.
Thanks, Ken. Enjoy your Sabbath. I'm going to give out for all the pressure that I feel in my life right now…..I can't wait to fall into bed and rest in him. I can't wait to hear from the LORD…..

Yes, of course the Spirit is the best teacher. But sometimes it would be nice to have physical support and fellowship. That is all I meant. I dont' look for answers here on HeavenNet, per se.
